Matn Elections: We already lost ..
Posted by N10452I had posted earlier that maybe those elections were a need to break this 70% illusion once and for all, but what will be the outcome of those elections regardless who wins ??
Christians are yet again putting themselves in the middle of the crisis and are weakening each others more and more.
Sheikh Amine Gemayel presented himself as a candidate, and will be facing the experienced well-prepared FPM candidate.
-We have an anti-FPM sentiment growing since months in the Matn, yet nothing confirmed except some statistics about this drawback.
-We have tensions growing btw the Kataeb and FPM member since Pierre’s assasination and btw LFers & Fpmers since the black tuesday.
The Upcoming elections will only weaken our ranks further, cause more tensions, and eventually make the possibility of electing a new president non-existing.
Aoun is reviving history yet again by destroying any chances of uniting the Christians. Ba3ed ma nachaf dammo lal Sheikh Pierre .. sar badna na3mil from his seat an electoral battle ..
This man has no respect, no dignity no nothing …
Mabrouk 3laykoun those elections, Mabrouk lal massi7iyye further divisions .. And if Aoun is to win, then maybe we should pack our bags and leave Christians to follow this clown, cause thats what they deserve.

N,
100% tight in what you’ve said, but this is Lebanon, ans we Christians don’t really realize our real interest, we spend time fighting for the Presidential chair, and now we have Aoun who put this target from the day he was born, and he’s ready to do anything, and destroy a whole country to become President (in his dream only).
4. Rodge | July 20th, 2007 at 9:50 pm
Sokhoushmoush,
Why u always understand thingd wrong??
I think u have a problem in being logic. All N10452 said, is that no matter what the utcome of the elections, the Christians lost because they are not united. Please read well before you comment, but unfortuinately u’re a perfect FPM in your reactions.

Reading your post today convinced me more than ever that the FPM is making the right move.
Using religious, sectarian and tribal sentiment to even suggest that democracy should not take it’s course!
This is really a battle between reformers and feudals such as yourself.
We might all be Christians, but a lot of us seem to have the mentality of Bedouins who make the sign of the cross.
11. kingkassis | July 21st, 2007 at 2:26 am
I am a staunch LF supporter, although not an LF member. Why are you all afraid of elections. In the words of my hero George W. Bush, I say ot the Aounist, bring it on!
I welcome an electoral battle. This should be an easy victory for the LF. If not, then that should make you question what you are doing wrong!
12. fad14 | July 21st, 2007 at 6:03 am
I think you have little faith in our country ya Shabeb, we all know the sentiments before Hakim’s release and now.
We are scared from Aoun as if he really represents christians,
Recently he started to attack the gov from a christian prespective to show he is the only protector of the faith, the true cursader, and left many of us reading headlines rather than content and reacting to it.
Even if Amine Gmayel loses, it is a test of percentages and a chance to show the numbers in maten on how they really are.
His crew are planning things in a good way to fool the simple minded people.
Their news, who they pay and attract, and their allies.
They are launching OTV straight before the elections and we all know who would give them extra money they needed to do this!
They started to attack the gov form a christian prespective and we all know why!
Then they start saying they will give up the seat if they get apologies from Sheikh Amine as if they control the game!
Have faith and go Vote on August 5, thats what we need. The next general elections are less than 2 years away and if for one seat Aoun is this ready, what do you expect for the coming elections ????

About the elections:
I think this is a test to see how much the AOUN VIRUS has infected the lebanese … if we win bikoun l-balad bi alf kheir ..w iza we loose bikoun l3awad bi sleimitkon ya chabeb .. the country is being taken over by pple who count polititcs by numbers … by pple who lost the sense of dignity and self-respect …

What a shame, Pierre Gemayel was assassinated with bullets in his head and body in the Center of Matn Area, w dammo ba3d ma nashhaf, byijina wa7ad 3askari mareed wants to divide again and again the christians and run against the party of which Pierre Gemayel belonged.
Everyone has the right to run for the elections , but this is unethical, shab min khirit al shabaib al libnaniyi was killed and yet we want to kill him twice. akh tfou

I think we should look with attention to Michel Murr position, since so far he has not given his support to any of the candidates, and it seems he will step aside and watch. I think without him, the FPM will not have any chance in winning, in addition the Tashnak decision is not clear so far, and maybe the party has noticed a change in his followers opinion. Let’s hope so, for the sake of the country, because i don’t think we could stand another Aounist PM,
“bikaffina el mawjoudin” especially in Metn, Nabil Nicolas and Ibrahim Kanaan.
On the other hand, while things in Metn are still unclear, i think the situation is different in Kesrouan and Jbeil, where we see a considerable change in the mood, with the LF having now the most popularity among people. A little proof of that, a friend of mine who is an FPMer told me few days ago that he was surprised not to see Aoun’s posters in the region, or maybe few of it, in return he noticed more and more support to LF with additional writings and posters. Even the PM’s elected in Kesrouan, especially Nehmetallah Abi Nasr and Farid Khazen, are not reflecting Aoun’s ideas anymore, while the rest does not have any influence neither any popularity.

Good afternoon from Almería ( Spain )
Yesterday morning, I read an article, from a Lebanese journalist, that said that Hezbollah members escort Spanish peace keeping forces. What do you think about it? Is there anything we do not know about the real mission our men are carrying out in Southern Lebanon?
Greetings and enjoy the weekend!!
20. N10452 | July 21st, 2007 at 2:45 pm
Rodge,
Michel el Murr ma kheli2 awsakh minno and trust me he will support Aoun while saying he is neutral.
Tashnak will probably vote for Aoun as well but wont declare it in public.
Lfers are highly present in the Matn, but they live there and in majority dont vote there.

Yes N,
U’re right, and myself when i was in Lebanon i lived in Ain Remmaneh, but i don’t elect there, i do in Jbeil. But i was just pointing to the difference between Metn and both Kesrouan and Jbeil. In Metn, Aoun can rely on some allies (Murr, Tashnaq, Awme Souri etc…), in Baabda also he can rely on HA and at some point on Arslan, but in the other regions (Kesrouan and Jbeil) this is where the real force can be proved, and as i think he will not have any chance to win if the elections happen now.
