March 14,2005 : I woke up left to work knowing this is going to be a big day, i have been participating in all demonstrations since Hariri’s assassination, i almost visited the tents on a daily basis, i felt we are on the verge of a major change ..
It wasnt just me, everyone felt he/she had a role to play in what was coming .. everyone felt we are on the verge of a new era, everyone felt a golden opportunity was sent to us ..
The price was heavy, but the opportunity was there .. and we had to grasp it ..
Such circumstances come once in a lifetime, it was all too good to be true, everyone wanted to be part of this day, everyone was prepared to go down, men, women, students, children, everyone !
Even those who did not care about politics went down, and made the Cedars Revolution, this long awaited revolution a reality !
I cannot describe what i felt on this day .. it was a mixture of satisfaction and happiness and astonishment..
From 1990 till 2005, brave men & women in hundreds only were defying this brutal Syrian occupation, were showing exceptional courage, were being treated like animals, but never bowed and never stopped believing their work must be awarded one day.
This small group of people, from old militants to young activists, are what made March 14 happen.
But then came the after March 14, where this group handed their achievements to their leaders and moved on with their lifes.
Meanwhile, a Syrian Opposition was being forged, and Syria was already preparing a plan to come back to Lebanon.
Assassinations started, anti-M14 demonstrations, political attacks etc etc …
Everything we achieved in M14 was just too big for our leaders to handle, yet we did not react and kept believing it will eventually work out .. but it is not and unfortunatelly Syria & its allies are gaining ground ..
Today we celebrated the 3rd anniversary of this majestic day, while we should be working on reviving it and forging its achievements and destroying its opponents ..
I am dissapointed, many are ..
I can no longer accept tents in Down Town.
I can no longer accept Syrians invading our lands in the Bekaa.
I can no longer accept having armed militias.
I can no longer accept assassinations of our finest politicians and intellectuals.
3 years have passed, the visa requests are tripling and quadrupling ..
We dont need a BIEL Conference, we need actions and we need them now !

Those “leaders” are not fit to lead. Haidol kharjon yro7o yil3abo lotto. I’m sure young people like Gubran were in the lead things would be different. However, we can blame the leaders day and night, but we are the responsible for not doing something about freeing our country. Until the Lebanese do something, we deserve the occupation. Freedom always comes with a very high price paid in blood. We Lebanese want freedom, but never ready to sacrifice anything to get it ….

libanon: Aoun started killing the Christians in 1989, is that what you are proud of ????
The problem has always been the title of the war rather than the actions. It has always been about someone who wants to become PRESIDENT and digging up a good reason for it.
We have problems since 1920 and each time someone wants to become president, he RAISES those issues up and uses them to get what he wants and then SUDDENLY forgets about them after that.
THIS has been used by almost all politicians we have had so far.
AND IT WORKS EVERY TIME.
IN THE NAME OF CHRISTIANS MEANS FOR THEM ” FOR THE BENEFIT OF ME AND MY FAMILY AND FRIENDS”.
In the name of Islam and Arabs and patriotism = FOR ME and my FRIENDS and FAMILY and SOME RANDOM GUY WHO LIVES NEAR OUR HOUSE.
We are skilled in getting people to power and forgetting why we got them there.
AOUN NEVER DID anything good for the christians or Lebanese and I dare you to NAME ONE GOOD thing he did.

“Aoun started killing the Christians in 1989″, how is it that after he launches a small couterattack in metn on the LF after they attack and wipe all the lebanese army in the north(destroying the only gazelle helicopters he had and executing several officers on the wall) you say that he declared an elimination war and started killing christians?
What did you expect aoun to do after the LF allied with the syrians(entering the ta2if) and launced a surprise attack on the lebanese army(attacking from behind, which the army was not expecting)? did you want him to keep saying that the LF are honorable defenders of lebanon just so the LBC propaganda machine doesn’t paint him as a brutal christian killer?
If aoun wanted to become president he could he could have just accepted syrian presence and said that it was a necessity for civil peace, economic prosperity, and democracy in lebanon(like everyone else) and hariri, the syrian Puppet PM, would have given him the chair.Same as when jumblat said that aoun would be president if he broke from hezballah not long ago.
March 14 is when the lebanese people went down to the streets under LF,PSP,Amal, and syrian army shelling to say no to syrian presence IN lebanon, not when the syrian dogs turned on thier masters when their personal intrests told them to.
Who was it who campaining against the syrian presence in lebanon for 15 years?
We are skilled in getting corrupt war criminals and ex syrian dogs to power and calling the only leader who wants to help us a syrian tool.
Can you name one good thing geagea did for the christians or Lebanese?

Guys don’t argue with pro 8 march people or orangists. It’s just like arguing an indian that he should not worship cows. If he worship cows in the first place, there have no minds to be argued with. If they are orangists in the first place, there have no minds to be argued with. Keep that in mind.
11. Elie.F. | March 15th, 2008 at 7:18 pm
the human brain is made of 2 parts, right part and left part.
the problem with the orangist is that in their left part they have nothing right and in their right part they have nothing left.
Libanon what did u mean that 14 march started in 1958? do u mean that when all the muslems allied with the syrians and abdul nasser against Camille Chamoun the christian leader then is a 14 MARCH? SHAME ON YOU LIBANON, I REALLY PITTY YOU.

Libanon
I agree with u with the events of 1989
LF jeeps attacked multiple check point in jbeil and started killing and kidnapping in a very brutal way…they continued to saryet blat and killed all, soldiers ndabaho while sleeping… i presume that if the army of MA was aware of that they would have been prepared…LFers back then had the intention of attack, army was in a defense position…it was a smart move from MA yetrachah 3an kesrewn/ jbeil; people of that region was fed up from LFers due to that black period of their history

ya Jamil ya Habibi, We all remember your mouzaharat, each time Aoun had a mouzahara it was no more than 100 or 150 and they all end up in jail or beaten by your lovely Ally michel el Murr.
IN MARCH 14, it was everyone and its the biggest proof of your size ya Aounieh, and now we all know that Aounieh = Murr, Marada, Hizbulla, SSNP, Amal, Areslan and other Syrian puppets.
Get a life and stop thinking you are 2 million, you are barely 80,000 without your allies and that is what Michael Aoun is worth.
NO ONE Supports your beloved GENERAL, THEY ARE USING HIM and once again stepping on you with THEIR BOOTS, but this time you are enjoying it.
