How Hezbollah Destroyed Lebanon !
Posted by N10452We have been debating for days about who won the war, and if Hezbollah really lost or not, well i think the numbers and facts speak louder than political assumptions.
I have done some research on the damage done to Lebanon by the reckless adventure Hezbollah led and thought the numbers and statistics i managed to gather :
Lebanon’s Losses :
-Battles took place 100 % on Lebanese Soil, 0 % in Israel.
-2023 Killed in Lebanon ( mostly civilians) VS 144 in Israel ( 104 soldiers among them).
-3740 Injured in Lebanon VS 144 in Israel.
Cost of medication : Avg: 1200$ per person => 44,880 $
- 72 Bridges totally demolished VS 0 in Israel.
Cost of Rebuilding them : 7 Million per Bridge = 504,000,000 $
- 28 000 Houses destroyed VS 11 in Israel.
Cost of Rebuilding & Furnishing them: 2,900,000,000 $
-14 000 Houses partially damaged VS 141 in Israel
Cost of Renovation : 673,750,000 $
- % of Infrastructure damaged : 65 % in Lebanon VS 0 % in Israel.
Cost : Undefined yet.
- Airports destroyed or damaged : 3 in Lebanon VS 0 in Israel.
Cost of 1 day Closure of Beirut Airpot : 5,000,000 $
Airport is still 90% closed till today ( up to 40 days).
- Water Pollution : 40 % in Lebanon VS 0 % in Israel.
Cost of Cleaning : 50,000,000 $
Time : At least 10 years.
- Industries fully destroyed : 61 in Lebanon VS 0 in Israel
Cost of Rebuilding : 610,000,000 $
- Commercial shops fully destroyed : 3200 in Lebanon VS 0 in Israel.
Cost of Rebuilding : 80,000,000 $
- Roads Damaged : 45 % in Lebanon VS 0 in Israel.
Cost of Rebuilding : Undefined.
- Agriculture sector hit at 70% in Lebanon VS 15 % in Israel.
Estimate of Losses : 30,000,000 $
- Industrial sector hit at 100 % in Lebanon VS 5.6 % in Israel.
Estimate of Losses : 132,000,000 $
- Tourism for Summer 2006 : 100 % loss in Lebanon VS 21.6 % in Israel
Estimate of Losses :4,800,000,000 $
Added to that, 1730 cars were damaged, 57 trucks, 62 public schools and investements from Arab and other countries paralyzed, summing up to more than 5 Billion dollars in loss.
Total Estimated Loss : 15,297,480,000.00 $
Now i ask you,
Who won this war ? Israel or Hezbollah ?
Syria was the biggest winner of this war then came Israel and Iran as second winners.
And now Hezbollah dares and demands the government for compensations for the war losses??
Who asked u to lead this adventure again ?? Arent they those who came out winners of this war ?
Who has been arming you to the teeth for the past 6 years ?
Can you please give us 1 convincing reason of why Israel would have attacked us later on if you had disarmed ?
15 Billion Dollars loss in ONE MONTH, added to our 40 Billion dollars debt accumulated in 15 years.
Now after listing all those numbers, i hope those defending Hezbollah to rethink and read this balance sheet and judge for themselves.

Hezbollah is asking Lebanon for compensation due to the war? They are crazy. They drug the Lebanese people into this mess. Israel would never have attacked Lebanon otherwise, had not reason to do so. Frankly, I think that Israel and Lebanon should agree to a peace treaty, and that Israel should help repair and rebuild. I’m very pro-Israel and Pro-Lebanon, but this seems the best way to strengthen both nations. If these two nations were allies, and worked to mutually support each other, wouldn’t that benefit everyone? What do you think? Is my idea insane? Best wishes from Texas, lynne

Dear Lynne,
Your idea is not insane at all but it needs time to mature. Israel has been violating our land for years now and is considered an ennemy, however Syria and Iran have been doing the same for tens of years and much worse than Israel, yet you always find calls to settle things with them.
We should take out this Israeli taboo from the Lebanese minds that Israel is an eternal ennemy and this rotten hatred ideology towards Israel.
The only way to prosper is by signing peace with Israel and being on good terms with all countries of course as long as the other country respects our sovereignty.
And i agree 100% that Israel wouldnt have attacked us if Hezbollah had disarmed, the country is building walls to protect itself, the last thing it needs is occupying another country, specially Lebanon.
\”If these two nations were allies, and worked to mutually support each other, wouldn’t that benefit everyone? \”
That wouldnt benefit Iran & Syria at all, which explains their support to Hezbollah

I second that!

I am just subcribing to a news/political services called Stratfor. (I am sick of the biased news everywhere). There are free news analyses that they will send you online, so I requested one on the recent conflict. The folks at Statfor have a note on their site saying that they will answer questions, so (thinking that they really would not have time to do so), I asked about the best course of action for Israel in the future. The CEO of the company emailed me back (!), saying that diplomacy was greatly needed on Israel’s part to try to begin solving the difficulties with its neighbors. The problem has been that the neighbors have not been that receptive. . . I was talking with my son last night and we were discussing Gandhi. It seems that solving problems militarily should be the last resort. I hope that the Israeli people can get leaders in office that are skilled in diplomacy and with the ability to forge good relationships with its neighbors. The average person on the street in Israel does not consider the Lebanese people its enemy (there are nutters in every society, however). I agree that it will take time for the Lebanese to be receptive to any overtures toward peace made by Israel. I think that Israel should continue to build its wall to protect against suicide bombers. It is so nerve-wracking to even go shopping or to enjoy a cup of coffee at times in Israel. I guess it is always in the back of my mind. I wish that there was something that I could do to help the Lebanese people right now, and if you can think of anything, please let me know. I am a teacher, and I was wondering if sending school supplies and basic everyday items would be helpful. I hope that things calm down and that progress toward recovery in Lebanon will be made. One day, perhaps there will be peace between (not only Israel and Lebanon), but in the entire region. All the best regards from Texas, lynne

The problem is that any thing less than absolute victory for Israel is a failer while any thing less than complete destruction and death is a victory for the Hissbous. That standard is the fanatic way of life ,opps we still breathing there fore we are winners, that is the hissbous Logo. Welcome to the Dahyee for on hand example.
