Dr.Geagea was visiting Sanioura at the Serail yesterday and had a strong speech at the end of his meeting. Hakim clearly stated that Paris3 is a necessity and that our current economical situation will be very risky if we do not exploit this unique conference for Lebanon.

What i liked most is his answer on who is the real oppostion ?

“Of course we are the real opposition”, he quoted, “because we are the targetted ones and we are the ones working properly for a free and independant Lebanon, and it is one of us that is being killed everytime.”

He added claiming that the current demonstrations are useless and are even illegal.

Finally, he defied the so-called ‘Opposition’ to ask for a general civic desobediance and if the majority of the people responds, then the government will resign, if not then let them stop wasting our time and leave the people alone.

Hakim is a visionary, and if he says we are the real opposition that’s because he sees it clearly coming down the road: sunni muslims and shiia muslims will end up straightening things up betweem them at the expense of our christian community. If you review Hakim’s declarations, one can see that on many occasions he made it clear that the principle of our alliance with other factions or confessions is based on the fact that these allied parties, for the first time in history, are raising free Lebanon above any other intrests. So, we support the government at this moment of history but if you broaden the picture and if you look at the government-to-be in a year time, we are the anticipated opposition. If you take into consideration that 60 percent of the lebanese are pro-syrian, this means that any government-to-be that represents all the lebanese will be a pro-syrian government and a government that’s adverse to our cristian community. The only solution we have is to gain us some time, seize the opportunity of the miraculous sinioura government, establish the international court and consequently topple the present syrian regime that will be replaced by one that’s willing to recognize Lebanon as a free country. After that, we will rest in the opposition but at least it will be an opposition in a free country.
By the way N, thanks for the excellent post.
