Do I like Samir Geagea ?
Posted by N10452I believe i needed to write this post to clarify this issue once and for all ..
![]()
Many readers know me in person and know how much i have worked for the LF ( and still am) and most importantly defending Dr.Samir Geagea’s cause, yet many others find it easy to just label me as one who wants to open his own LF, or jame3it Fouad Malek or Jame3it Ilige or Jame3it medre chou .. i was even called moukhabarat and Kataeb once ..
Well i am a Lebanese forces supporter, and the sole leader of the LF is without any doubt Dr.Samir Geagea which i HIGHLY respect and admire.
I will not start listing what i did to defend his cause, to ask for his freedom, i am not the kind of people who like to brag about their achievements, i never asked for credit and never will .. i spent years exploiting every possible event or every occasion to ask for Hakim’s freedom, i organized conferences, signed petitions, endangered myself defending our leader ..
And i dont regret not 1 % of what i did .. i have typed Samir Geagea’s ideology as written by Antoine Najm, translated it, typed all his speeches and personally paid people to do some, made him a website, special sections everywhere etc etc .. and NEVER asked money nor credit for it ..
I have a deep knowledge of the LF thought, Hakim’s thought, i have studied thouroughly and repeatdly this man, his 11 years in jail amazed me and still do, his strengh is incredible, his faith and courage are unmatched nowadays and wont be for a while ..
All this said, i believe you know the answer to my title now ..
Now to get to the “critics” part, i started distancing myself from the LF when i saw it dividing itself, and tried many times to repair this division, did everything i possibly could, but prefered keeping my hands clear, and staying neutral until Hakim goes out.
And indeed he went out, and there started my dissapointment internally.
The man has huge responsabilities, he has 11 years to catch up, a whole institution to restart, and has most importantly to reestablish himself on the political scene.
Our current alliances are the best ones to make right now, LF is rebuilding its contacts with foreign countries ( Fieltman mkhayyam bi m3erab sar), Hakim is making very rational speeches and even those who hated him are admiring his strong arguments and rational, calm and firm tone.
However, it saddens me that Hakim did not succeed in regrouping the LFers specifically and Christians generally under one banner, he failed in breaking those divisions and forming one solid body, he pushed away those who dared critisize his wife ( some deserve it though), but many dont and those were the backbone of the LF during his jail time ..
Added to that, the LF youth which has amazing potential is still not performing as it should be, and still has rotten people heading it ..
Some will tell me it still needs time, i dont think its about time honestly, i dont know what could be the reason, it just irritates me to see LFers not performing as they should be, and it is because i care that i critisize, not to backstab anyone, because if i wanted to do that, i would have done it very easily and there is much to do unfortunatelly but i refuse.
Finally, The most important thought i learned from the LF, from Bashir & Samir, is to never fear the consequences of posting things as they are, of saying things as they are, whether bad or not, of enjoying your freedoms to the max ..
This is an LF Blog, and it will remain so, it is a blog where LFers are free to express their opinions, away from official spots, it provides a healthy environemnt for LFers to discuss their problems and worries, to discuss the LF problems, to resolve them by constructive interaction, and for non-LFers to realize how democratic we are, and how we truly believe in the freedom of expression.
I hope the message is clear.
Allah ouwet.

It all made sense, and I respect your courage in clarifying these issues. Especially for a Christian ‘identity’ in Lebanon which happens to be loud and clear (relative to the oppressed Christians in the Middle East and Arab Peninsula).
But when I reached the end of the article… it struck me to read: Allah Owet… erm, heheh I didn’t know how to take it, nor understand it, even metaphorically.
Sarcastically would probably be the only reasonable and humorous way of taking it, at least for me.

hi
I have been reading this blog for some time now.
I just want to inform you before I start expressing my view that, if I were to choose, I would opt for M14 to save lebanon.
However, the reasons why I still distrsust the person writing on this blog, is the depiction of his/her vision as absolutely correct very often. He or she expresses no doubts on his/her historical interrepetation of events and projectting an image of certainty and absolute clarity. As long as such hegemonic vision of events persists moderate people such as myself will always stay at bay your politcal view.
The world is not black and white and to depict it as such is nothing other than propaganda, in my view.
I write this because I have hope that together we can be stronger. But we have to stop thinking that we are right–that we never did or never do mistakes. Expressing uncertainty and doubt is the first step to bring us all closer together.
We also, finally, have to move on from the past and look at the future. We should learn from the past–yes!– but not ideolize it.

N very interesting thoughts i agree with some of it .but i dont agree on the following(This is an LF Blog, and it will remain so, it is a blog where LFers are free to express their opinions, away from official spots, it provides a healthy environemnt for LFers to discuss their problems and worries, to discuss the LF problems, to resolve them by constructive interaction, and for non-LFers to realize how democratic we are, and how we truly believe in the freedom of expression.) the views of some adminstarters of the forum are well far away from LF principles. i dont know who you are and you dont know who i am but i dont think they should not allow non LFers to bash DSG or 14 March. i stopped posting even visiting the forum , sometimes i feel strange on my own LF forum. by the way where is the link of the offical LF website?

This blog is the 1st site i view daily.
I trust Hakim 99% with whatever he does and needs to get the 1% doubt from your critics.
Forces For Ever.
14. Shadow | September 19th, 2007 at 3:18 pm
Me personally I have never ever had even a small doubt that your not an LF, but what I tried to say and this is what I personally believe , working from inside is much more effective and helpful then outside. I know that LF is not what we have dream and maybe its not democratic and I know that few of them aren’t professional in their works and I know some of them feed Hakim with wrong information and wrong stories.
Now LF needs all our efforts to make it better, We have to built a trust relation among all LFers , we have to trust our Leader. The main thing is to trust our Leader because we all are hearing these stories attacking Hakim in order to make LF weak.
Finally , I feel sad when Hanoun visits Lebanon and deosn’t pass by Me3rab or he deosn’t call Hakim hodoleh roufa2a sileh . I feel said some of our comrades are not in LF. Hakim went out from Jail, he missed a Lot of things, many people betrayed him and at the end of day he has to trust his wife and his family . Maybe Setrida did some mistakes with shamati or toufic Hindy but she was able to keep LF in the right track otherwise You will see LF representative on Syrian TV sitting next to Karim Bakradoni talking about how much important to keep Syrian army in Lebanon .w wehdet massarr wel massir
Today LF needs reconciliation, but we should not forget that we have only ONE leader which we trust .

Everyone has the right to criticize whoever he wants… and what N is doing is really the right thing in order to have a democratic party..
like we have the right to criticize joe sarkis in holy friday issue, we have the right to criticize any LF’er (including samir geagea) if we see that something is going in the wrong way…
hiding behind the finger is not the right way…
Lebanese forces didn’t start with SG and will not finish with him…
the important thing is to agree on the main principles, and everything after is details, each one has its own ideas how to reach the goal (without deviating from the principles)…it is not normal that all of us have the same way of thinking..
all of us we like SG and we respect him but finally we are LF’ers not SG’ers..
yesterday people from Jbeil visited GMA, and when he was saying: “u gave me ur trust in the election” a woman said loudly: ” BLINDLY”.. this is the right example of stupidity and ignorance and we should not be like this…
Cheers.

Sorry Rafik,
Min Mfakkar Halak? seret Bashir…I think you are little bit arrogant! Who is you to teach how to think and criticize our leaders? and you finish with Allah Ouwet? So, if so! let Allah do his Job and criticize not you …
I am really feeling disgusted . . . STOP criticizing in public.
Give us a program and better idea for LF instead of Bla Bla Bla…
17. paul | September 19th, 2007 at 4:41 pm
we have 2 possibilities.either we stands the criticism and everyone can say what he would like!or N closed the blog and we keep
the mouth shut.
I am 100% pro possibility nr1…and you???

21. N10452 | September 19th, 2007 at 7:57 pm
A final word for some readers who say am comparing myself to Bashir or making myself an addiyye ..
Well i have one simple answer for you guys ..
If u think am not a ‘vaurien’ and no one, why are you making a big deal out of my posts and critics
22. Johnny.B | September 19th, 2007 at 8:01 pm
DEFINITION:
CRITISISM: The process of offering valid and well-reasoned opinions about the work of others with the intention of helping the reader or the artist, rather than creating an oppositional attitude.
so to all of you guys who are not familiar with critisism which is found in all modern DEVELOPING societies, you can look it up in any dictionary. we are L.F we are not aouniyyeh ! we are Lebanese and not syrians. to everyone who does not accept critisism, go to syria, you’ll like it better there!
