I must say i was expecting such replies when i posted 2 days ago on the “LF Party” and its cheap poster …

First of all, let me clarify that there is NOTHING WRONG with doing parties and organizing events to raise money, but there is something terribly wrong when organizing picnics and parties become our main events and almost our only events, not to forget masses as well .. which become festivals rathers than a modest event and serene and calm one to vote for our martyrs ..

Back to the main issue,
The LF has been growing since Hakim was released, yet the quality of its events are still mediocre and this whole “picnic w dabke w arguile “ generation is not helping at all. I ask any of you to trace back the events his region did the past year and tell me how many conferences you held, how many political awareness campaigns you did, how many interviews and flyers you distributed, AND how many picnics, dinners, parties and festivals you attended.

We collect money and then what ??

If each ticket sold abroad costs 60$, i assume thousands if not tens of thousands are being collected.

Where is this “Elite” society Hakim once told us about ?? the “Elites” that he believed in ??
Some will answer me, he created the “Jem3a Cha3biyye” ..

Wlik even its name contradicts itself, chou ya3ne jem3a cha3biyye ?? cha3biyye is opposite to education and to elites in itself.

Aoun wants his followers to be blinded and brainwashes them to follow him wherever he goes, i find it hard to believe that Hakim would want that to ..

How are we gonna get the people on our side and convince them of our political line if we only do parties and dinners ??
I will give a very simple example: We have been debating for weeks now on whether it is legal to have 50+1 voting for a president or not ..

Did any LF responsible think of having a small conference in each section to explain to the supporters and to the people what the Constitution says clearly ??

How about Fath el Islam ? Salafism ?? Hezbollah ? and all the hot issues that i keep hearing some LFers talk about in an ignorant and shameful way ..

Does anyone know what Salafism is in the first place ?? ya khayye .. does anyone know which Intifadas Hakim did ?? and why he did them ??

I highly doubt that and am ready to test that in any region, any section, any university ..

Stop defending blindly like Aounists or Hezbollah do, i critisize the LF because i care for it, however i cannot see myself enrolled in it, first because it has no structure whatsoever, it has no democracy in it, and it has no project or plan ( not yet at least ) ..

Look at how Hariri made an elite group out of his society and OUR Society … we have so many potentials, yet we push them away … i wonder why.

Money is a must, and collecting it is a must, but investing this money is the most essential part and it should be done in constructive events, such as conferences, lectures, general awareness campaigns, scholarships for students, establishing contacts with the LFers abroad, creating network channels, organizing thinktanks etc etc …

Cheers.

We invested the money in building maarab. From where all these millions came? Law fi in us hundred LF who have a brain they go to samir geagea and ask him min ayna laka haza???? And how about our families who has been suffering because of you political mistakes??? How about teh mothers of our martyrs? They do not deserve some money?

  • 2. Tony | September 9th, 2007 at 3:47 pm

hahah mann maarab was being build when Dr Samir Geagea was in jail maa3rab was built by his wifes money his wifes familly is VERY VERY wealthy

  • 3. manolito | September 9th, 2007 at 4:06 pm

Tony, really??? Are you sure??? If you are 100% sure, then why money was collected from the LF all around teh world to help the house of hakim and setrida? Why for 11 years australia alone was sending thousands of dollars for setrida? I guess you have no clue what you are talking about. Maarab started before hakim went to jail. It was finished the past 2 years.
If I go with your story (which is not true) then why Setrida the LF deputy spent money on building maarab and not helping the families of the martyrs?
Again why then lying to teh rifa2 and collecting money in the name of helping setrida? Considering you story true. I know it is not ture because the person who used to collect the money is next to Samir Geagea in Maarab. His name is TC.

TO WHO IS ACCUSING US OF DEFENDING BLINDLY HERE ARE SOME THINGS AND NOT ALL THINGS THAT SAMIR GEAGEA DID OTHER PICNICS W ARGHILEH. I DON’T KNOW MAYBE SOME GUYS WANT TO CRITISIZE JUST FOR THE FUN OF IT:
THESE ARE SMALL THINGS OF WHAT SAMIR GEAGEA IS DOING IN THE LEBANESE FORCES. THE PARTY IS BEING RESHAPED SINCE 2 YEARS NOW AND SAMIR GEAGEA IS A HUMAN BEING AND HE IS NOT A MAGICIAN SO THAT HE CAN DO EVRYTHING IN A MATTER OF MONTHS. GIVE THE MAN THE CHANCE HE NEEDS AND YOU WILL SEE WHAT HE WILL DO WITH THE LF.
ALL THE PEOPLE ARE AFFRAID OF WAHT SG WILL DO WITH LF BECAUSE THEY KNOW HIS ORGANISED MIND AND WHAT HE IS ABLE TO DO. HE IS TRYING TO ORGANIZE TH LF AND TO MAKE IT ACTIVE IN EVERY SINGLE SECTION IN THE LEBANESE LIFE SO THAT IT CAN HAVE THE POWER OF DECISION IN EVERYTHING CONCERNING THE LEBANESE POLITICAL LIFE.
IF YOU ARE NOT HAPPY ABOUT THE PICNICS WELL I TOLD YOU THAT THESE ARE PR SPECIALLY NEEDED FOR THE EMMIGRANT SECTION IN LF SO THAT WILL STAY IN TOUCH WITH LF AND WITH EACH OTHERS ABROAD.
IF THE DESIGN OF THE FLYER IS THE PROBLEM MY FRIEND THEN WE WILL DEMAND A NEW GRAPHIC DESIGNER FOR THE LF.
IF YOU ARE AFFRAID TO LOOSE YOUR MONEY ON MERAAB THEN YOU HAVE A PROBLEM AND YOU THINK THAT ALL THESE EVENTS AND ORGANISATION LISTED ABOVE DON’T COST MONEY AND ALL THE MONEY IS GOING TO SG POCKET, SO PLZ MA TSEHIM W MA TRABBIH JMILEH.
WE KNOW THAT SG IN THE ONLY PERSON WHO KNOWS WHAT TO DO WITH OUR DONATION MONEY AND WE TRUST HIM. THIS GUY PAYED 11 YEARS OF HIS YOUTH FOR CHRISTIANS IN LEBANON AND FOR LEBANON SO PLZ MA HADAN YZEYED 3AL ZALAMEH BI MASIHITO WALLA BI HOBBO LAL OUWET.
    CHEERS FOR YOU.

I’m not the one to defend the lf, but i think this is the problem of most parties these days

  • 9. Darko | September 9th, 2007 at 7:00 pm

Cause most of them lack ideolegies to promote, whats the diffrence btw lf & kataeb, or FM & FPM. Nothing but the leadership

  • 10. Darko | September 9th, 2007 at 7:04 pm

So the masses follow people not ideologies. And dont care about manifestos & platforms, making the leader neglect this aspect

  • 11. Darko | September 9th, 2007 at 7:07 pm

And focusing on keeping the masses happy(picnics, dabkeh..) cause as long as they’re happy, no questions asked

  • 12. Darko | September 9th, 2007 at 7:10 pm

Plus i think the lb law should include something about transparcy of the parties funds

    Guys,

Wether we like Setrida Geagea or we dont like her, the question is not here, For me no one has the right to judge if he is sitting behind his Laptop and behind four walls and criticsing every and each work that the LF is doing, we dont have the right to talk for the talk people, i use to be with alot of comrads in the middle of the LF abroad we did alot of things to the cause and now if i want to Criticise i dont allow myself to do it bcs im far from that center ( Decision making )……

    * We have to be realisitc and Rational.
    * We have to accept what the LF is doing and try to help
    * We are Builders…..
    * We are the Core of the LF here in Canada and US
    * But we need to work as a one hand…..
    * Dont say Hakim did this and Seetrida did that, Say LF will do what ever it takes to be heart of the Lebanese Resistance,

Compared to other political parties , I think LF is doing good , but surely the effort is not enough.

First, till now we did not see any serious action taken by LF regarding the refugees of mountains.
Some people will say kfarmata but what about others , now we are raising money for the camp and we forgot we have christian villages for more then 25 years .

Second , mjenassine what LF did regarding this issue? now sure these people had kids and their numbers have doubled

Third , Waza2ef dawleh where LF stands and why till now there is no equilibrium .

There is one report posted by Annahar showing christian and specially maronites numbers are decreasing due to these factors and in 2018 maronites will be 6 % of total polulation equivalent to Druzes.

Even enma2 moush metwezan, specially in the strong hold of LF in Bshareh , they say Government deosnt have money , on the other hands we see Government spending money generously for other regions.
I think this Government is not taking LF seriously

    Wake up ALL !!!!!!!

at the end This will show the big failure of all Lebanese Christian Parties specially LF.

We all love LF but we dont want it to be second hand in government .

    hi guys!

    1) I appriciate the comment of N10452, really realistic.

    2) first of all i would like to say, 7akim need first of all a safe residence for him and his wife to feel enclosed & secure a such place like (Me3rab). ( if the money support was for that let it be…)

3)he’s a realistic person we should admit that, he need an actual time to settle and enhance the LF after 15 Years. we should be patient if we trust him. his working hard, im sure! give him time to prove that effort…keep your comment after the presidential election…LET US PRAY for the bad coming days…Let US PRAy For Lebanon…GOD BLESS U ALL :)

    N10452

as usual bro, your concerns are very legitimate yet the way you put them through causes the controversy…

I will try and put your points in a new perspective…

1- you do agree that the LF is making a shift from a military organization to a political party right?

2- the people today are kind fed up with long political speeches and whatnot…this does of course not mean that we should eradicate lectures etc, but then Mr toutlemonde doesn’t care much about such speeches or lectures…

3- the current situation amongst lebanese is that of tension and fear…why? because of the current situation in the coutnry which reflects itself back on them

4- there re two ways through which you get through to the adherents of a party:

a- speeches, think tanks, work groups etc
b- social events and the rest.

the nature of the first category prohibits the publicity and the photos and the ads etc…it is generally speaking more of a “private” function whereas the second is usually given more of the limelight…

I can assure you that events from the first category do take place…some are publicized with the general public invited (09/09/2007 in wadi sha7rour for instance there was a lecture that was held by the LF)…whereas others are usually kept behind closed doors for many reasons one of which being security.

The fact you do not know about them does not imply they are not there man…we have discussed this a dozen times you and I and I always stated this point…

regarding the Jem3a sha3biyi…I first heard this criticism from a common friend…and I replied to his criticism…

what is wrong with the name man??? it is after all a first level of political education provided to the masses…where is the wrong with the concept??? it is for the masses (hence the sha3biyi) and it has the purpose to bring people together hence the “jem3a”…jem3a means assembly in this context…

    where is the problem???

are you implying that only the rich are entitled to an education ????? and that the common people are not??? knowing you I am positive you mean no such thing and this is why I started my reply with the phrase regarding the controversial way you put forth your concerns….

there are two other levels that will follow the Jem3a Sha3biyi my friend with the final aim of preparing the so called “elite” (by the way Elite was coined by Bachir not Samir)…but it was Samir that really worked for it through the educational programs he introduced and the social reforms he started back in 1986 (I believe there is still a post somewhere on the blog listing all those).

    regarding the money…

I will speak of what I know…being in the LFBA (Business Assembly) I was in on the time the white tower hotel was rented for the August 5 elections…the entire thing cost us more than $12,000 between security, food, screens, chairs etc…

every one of those events costs money to organize khayi…take an average reception dinner…at an acceptable restaurant..does it cost less than 20$ per person?? I am talking Lebanon man…I doubt you would find any “acceptable” place for less than this…

ok fine so where’s the problem in charging 25$ per person for people to attend???

the money goes to me3rab you say…ok fine…do you have any other means of rasing money????

the LFBA is now working on many business setups in order to help the LF raise more money…let me remind you that financial independence is the most important nowadays…at least the LF is not getting clean money from Iran or HA…

back in time, we had the ports and we had other means of levying money…it was war time…today the war is over my friend…we have no other means of getting money that this…we could try drug trade but I doubt HA would allow anyone in on the cake ;) hehehehehehehehe

you know me enough to know I am not a “blind defender”…and I sure hope my words fall on the right ears…

I will assure you that the elite project you are talking about is still on track my friend…

but the first step is to treat the peoples most urgent ills: fear of the unknown, isolation, animosity towards one another, fear of the LF itself etc…

then you move on to propose to those people social help like health care centers…one of which should be up and ready by the end of this month…presented by the LF to the people…

    and the list goes on…

trust me N10452…no one is sleeping on silk as the proverb says and more and more people re aware of how manay intifadas DSG was involved in and more and more do know what salafism is and what wahabism is etc…

also more and more are being educated as to why the LF is not today proposing its past projects like federalism … which is usually the main cause the LF gets attacked by some people accusing it of having sidetracked …

N my brother… you will continue to get angry replies as long as you ask your questions in a controversial, challenging manner…

for instance, next time you have a criticism, why dont you couple it with a probable solution??? this would make it appear as someone who knows the problem inside out and who has thought out a solution and is sad at seeing that the alternative solutions are not being considered. I know you are that kind of person because its been more than 5 years that our friendship has come to be, so I will ask you to write your future concerns with this spirit…

propose the ailment and the remedy so that those you are addressing will listen…otherwise, you cannot expect anyone to positively interact with you when you come with nothing more than criticism…

I sure hope I was able to put forth my point of view and I still look forth to that jalsi with Ken over a hubly bubly

TOny one more proof that you know nothing. The land is for the LF.
