Christians on the payroll …
Posted by N10452I was reading yesterday that hundreds of people rallied on Wednesday “to demand an end to the persecution of Christians in the Middle East that has forced thousands to flee the region, taking up a concern voiced recently by Pope Benedict XVI [..]”
I wonder if those people would really want to defend some of our ministers and Christian representatives.
What happened in the past two weeks is more than alarming, and it promises to get even worse if 14th of March Christians plan to keep acting in such a ‘Dhimmi’ way. Yes we experienced two severe cases of dhimmitude, and the infected ones were Joe Sarkis and Nayla Moawad.
Islamizing Lebanon has begun long time ago, and while Shiites support publicly having an Islamic Republic, Sunnites chose the silent discrete way in islamizing the society and the institutions without anyone noticing. Those are facts, we as LFers warned several times against this Islamization processs and were accused of being sectarian.
Nowadays, we have LF ministers and even our LF Leader justifying The government’s islamization plans.
First Holy Friday is almost cancelled and Joe Sarkis is “ok” with it, considering it is not an important day for him. The government issues a public apology after the patriarch blasts this flagrant decision and Sarkis tries to cover his mistake but in vain .. Dr.Geagea critisizes the Christian ministers reaction to this issue, yet does not take any action against “his” minister.
Second the government wants to sign a treaty that is in contradiction with the International treaty for the rights of Children, a treaty that was ratified to suit muslim states that need to abide by the Shariaa laws.
From the Maronite Bishops statement:
Who is the one to defend this decision ? Not Kabbani nor Sanioura nor any Sunnite responsible, but SIT NAYLA MOUAWAD !
Next thin i hear, is Dr.Geagea trying to justify it somehow, saying we could be facing even worse conditions if we werent in that government ??
Did anyone notice how neither Hezbollah nor Amal nor any Sunnite religious leader reacted to this decision ??? a decision that should unite us since we are the targetted ones, yet i see people exploiting it to score points and others defending this wrong decision for reasons i cannot understand and that i will never do.
Is this what the LF has tought me throughout those years ? Is this how we preserve our Cause and our rights as Christians in Lebanon and the Middle East ?
……. Or is this the price we have to pay for our “strategic” alliances ??
Note that whomever is gonna attack the LF for not critisizing that decision or attack the FPM for being with HA and attacking this decision didnt get one single word of what i just wrote and can join the list of “buyable” dhimmist Christians .

The deal to free Geagea turns out to be a deal to being the Chirstian to their knees.

It’s about time this blog posted it.
The LF does Not defend the right of the Christians. And who ever said it did. It Represents A Lebanese IDENTITY. No More. The LF does not encourage its supporters to go to Church on Sunday. It reflects an IDENTITY.
Now… Is this identity, as well as Sunnies, Shiites, Druze, and Lebanese Jews to be taken serious?
What is the percentage of those Lebanese who go to Church, Mosques or Synagogues?
Is it well worth to use our sect as our identity? For the time being yes. And To each their own identity, ebcause we wouldn;t know One… without the Other.

If I should either be labeled “Dhimmi” or paranoiac, I would leave the country: both labels do not match with what I long for.
I think in the matters at hand, you are being more paranoic as I being a dhimmi.
The case of Good Friday showed clearly that with all their problems, our institutions are working good: the Government takes a decision, the civil population judges it, the civil Institutions raise their opposition, the Government changes accordingly the decision. Now I don’t expect the christian ministers to be good theologians. Some christian official holiday must give way. If they were confronted between the feast of St Maron and the Easter Monday, what would they chose? Theologically (ask Mgr Beshara), the Easter Monday is way more important than St. Maron’s. But Theology is not at stake here as people think. So why blame the christian ministers who are just as christian as most of us, that is, not that christian.
For the second matter of major importance: how do you see an islamisation of Lebanon in joining an agreement that addresses the concern for muslim children? The agreement stipulates that the member states won’t allow for ways of education that are contrary to the shari3a. But the educational system of the shari3a is made to be transparent for all to see. While the traditional methods and tales are not that transparent. They don’t have the same requirement of critical thinking. They need not measure themselves to the Human Rights agreement. So as long as the agreement concerns muslim children, I find it to be profitable for me, christian, to see that my fellow muslim lebanese ar not raised according to narrow regional traditional mind set.

N10452,
when you say :”Is this what the LF has tought me throughout those years ? ”
i think LIfe taght us more than L.F did, do you remeber what almost caused the disappearence of lebanon from the map ??? almost all muslims in lebanon united with the palestinans to take over lebanon because they were muslims…
now you’re wondering y nobody reacts??? experience taught us that even worse enemies unite under the name of islam.
and keep in mind Joe sarkis is geagea’s dummy …. ma bya3mol chi min doun isticharet l-7akim … w nayla mouawwad ma ba3ref ktir 3anna so manni bi makein ou2dar i7ki 3anna .. bass ma bistab3ed chi menna

During the last decade, I have witnessed that the Lebanese government includes in its annual budget (in tens if not hundred of $million) donations to Muslim institutions and organizations like the Makased… and never helps Christian institution and charities.
maybe if the government eliminates donations to muslim institutions, it will reduce expenditures. By decreasing expenditures revenues increase. (don’t know if the purpose is to let the muftis and shooyookh support the government in return of getting aids)
Moreover, Monday Easter should be included as a holiday together with Good Friday. Christians have traditions of visiting each others and celebrate the feast, some might drive long distances to celebrate the Holiday in their far villages and a day is not enough to celebrate Easter.

Baddak el LF yfello mn Government? Leesh? 7atta inta tfoot! Aymata la7 tetla3o mn loget el 7arb? You are still living 80s and 90s with all those BLACK days of civil and religious wars.
Your GMA came to Lebanon and participated in 2005 elections as The only Christian DELIVERER. Then, after collecting the votes, he signed “WAR2ET tafehom” with a terrorist Militia that NOT ONLY destroy christians, but destroy Lebanon as a country.
Can you tell me, what would had happened if your General didn’t resign from 14march? The answer is easy, you have almost all christians in 14 march where nobody can touch a single Christian right! We could have a Unity government (all christians are represented) a new CHRISTIAN president (not Syrian) in that case, the government will NOT take any decision without their approval.
But now, what is the case? your GMA once says that he is a NATIONAL LEADER, once he is a CHRISTIAN LEADER, once he is Hisballa WEAPONS LEADER, once he is the CHRISTIAN COVER for march8 revolution.
History has proven that in Lebanon, NOBODY can eliminate the other neither with weapons no with politics

Mohammad,
I agree 100%, and also i will say that despite the mistakes done from time to time and all the accusations and differences, this Government are responding to Christians calls and abiding. This was lacking the previous governments, so it’s a good sign.

Guys, Let us not go into muslim-christian fight here .. as Mhammad said ..
Delta,
The blame is on us before Sanioura or Muslims … i requested for clarifications from them and we didnt get any yet .. or any proper ones ..
This is worrying but keep in mind this is what the Opposition and Syria wants .. so let us be careful about every word we say ..
