I think that with the departure assassination of Bachir, Lebanon lost all the possibilities to be a big country.
Khalas. That's it guys. No one will be like Bachir. No one. Nobody, Ma hadan

im a product of all this turmoil. i grew up in the civil war and moved to america before i became the next victim of senseless killings and brutal abductions. i can still remember the atmosphere at the time bashir became a president. we had finally felt free again and that only lasted for a short while. ever since we lebanese people havent had a strong leader that could stand up and dare to lead us like our beloved bashir was willing to. he was a real man with a real goal for his people. we need to find that type of man for our country, someone that can take charge and not be influenced by others for the wrong reasons. though it starts with us first. we need to demonstrate all over the world. we need to start a coalition and have the voices of people that care about our country be heard all over the universe. it worked for the african americans and it will work for us. we are not different then them. we became slaves in our own country powered by selfish leaders and outside influences. no one cares about us but us. everybody is out for their own selfish interest. we need to start this fight at our steps and carry it on to whoever wishes that lebanan falls apart including some of our own leaders. bring bashirs message back to our livingrooms wether you are living in australia , us , france or south africa. cause ultimately we lebanese people are the only ones that can help our cause.

alright people...since im the one who wrote the article (thanks N10452 for posting it) here are my few comments on your reply:

1) No, when I think of Bashir i do NOT think of Samir Geagea. Even if he inherited LF, he did not take care of it the way bashir did and he did not live up to bashir's principles. i cannot compare bashir and samir geagea, and would never do. thats why i think of the closest to bashir: his own family and close friends. the people who lived with him and knew him and stood by him. i think of some old kataeb members more than i think of geagea when i remember bashir.

2)my message is also dedicated to all of u. every single person who says bashir 7ayy fina is responsible for being silent at times like these

3) i dont have a problem with the president being elected as much as i have a problem with how this process is going on. foreign interventions have not stopped continuously for 3 years now. 'leaders' in our political nursery are waiting for 'international and regional developments' before they take decisions. what kind of 7orriyyeh siyedeh iste2leil is this???

tell me i shouldnt be frustrated!

To N10452,

Yes we all love bachir, yes we all wish he was here between us right now trying to save us from this political turmoil, and yes bachir was the greatest leader ever to come to this country, though bachir is dead his words still echo in the streets of ashrafieh and bikfaya and zahle and every other major city bachir had an influence on. Lets look at the situation presently, it seems inevevitable that Michel Sleiman is gonna reach the presidancy, i dont agree, u dont agree i dont think any LFer would agree. But what can we do, the LF have 5 members of parliament, LF has given 10,000 martyrs, Samir Geaea has given 11 years of his life, most importantly the LF are still bieng reconstructed from scratch, offcourse there is no way the LF could achieve any major breakthrough now, its still fresh, has samir geagea been freed prior to the election we would have gotten a much more number of MOPs, but sadly that was not the fact, we have to learn to stand before we can learn to walk and thats exactly what the lf are doing now, they are standing. Another thing i would like to add is i dont think geagea will remain silent, which explains why he and gemayel went to visit sleiman today, not because of theyre support to him no, but to ensure that michel sleiman realizes that he is representing the christians, LF and tayyar and marada and kataeb and a7rar etc...geagae is voicing his support to sleiman to ensure that christians wont be "mad3oos 3a rason" like the syrian days...at least we all hope so, cuz i dont think that hakim will ever let his people dowm... Thank You
