Aoun : Syria’s favorite General ..
Posted by N10452If i were Syria, i could not have asked for a better person to execute my plans than General Michel Aoun, and the best part is that he is doing Syria favor after favor unintentionally, at least i hope so …
![]()
As for us Christians, i can say Aoun is the worst virus that hit our community ever, for he managed to expoit our people, lie to them, incite them against the authorities, convince them of his revolutionary ideas while doing the complete opposite .. i never imagined a troubled person like Aoun can become so popular and cause that much damage .. this should tell us a lot about the lack of political orientation and awareness in our society ..
More importantly, it should teach other parties ( LF Mainly), how to prepare its community for facing such harmful individuals by raising awareness and promoting democracy within the same party …
Back to our main topic, i will expose two major events that were crucial for us Christians, yet somehow Aoun figured out a way to turn the table on our heads ..
Years 1989 -1990:
Back in 1988, The Lebanese Forces is in control of all Christian regions and is in its golden years, while Amine Gemayel is weaker than ever and his mandate about to end. Aoun is appointed head of a temporary government and what a big mistake by Amine .. and what a glorious day for the Syrians it turned out to be later on ..
Aoun in only two years started launching media propagandas against the LF militia and all militias, turned a lot of the people against it, started sending demonstrations to checkpoints to score points .. then he decided to launch a war against it, regardless of what Aounists claim .. AOUN started the war and there are facts that speak louder than words.
A mad general weaking the only Resistance left against the Syrians ..
Could Syria ask for more ?? probably not but our dear General was just unstoppable ..
He woke up one day and launched an unbalanced war against the Syrians, LF had to help him and when he was defeated, they were weakened politically, and it did not stop here, Aoun relaunched another destructive war against the LF and failed again but caused major damage on all sides and made us reach the Taef agreement .
Who could have thought the LF could be that weakened after 15 years of tough resistance .. only a virus could have done that, and not even Syrians could have infected us like Aoun did ..
Years 2005 -2007:
After 15 years of “suffering” in exile in France ( i wish i could suffer in France too), Our dear general came back with a huge reform plan, wanting to turn things upside down, LF was still jailed and inactive … Aoun comes back and sweeps elections by joining forces with Syria’s most loyal allies ..
After having isolated those groups after the Cedars Revolution, Our Dear General gets them back on the political scene ..
It turns out later on that He had agreed with Syrian officials to cool it down on Syria and in return he is allowed to come back ( as per Fayez Azzi, his ex-political advisor confessions).
But things did not stop here, After isolating Hezbollah and Syria for months, and pressuring both parties and for the first time asking HA to disarm with no conditions, Aoun wakes up one day and decides to sign an agreement with a party he called terrorist and lobbied against few years ago .
I heard Assad was so overjoyed he called the day off and organized festivities all over Syria. He was stuck and had no clue what to do until Genius Aoun came and resolved the issue for him.
Two months later, Hezbollah starts a war against Israel and Aoun gets a slap in the face, but of course he is faithful to his agreements, so he goes along with HA and defends it all the way, demonstrates with him, builds Tent City with him, closes the Down Town, burn tyres and closes roads and causes tensions among Christians inexistant for years ..
I could go on and on listing all the favors Aoun did to Syria, but those two are just shocking and just prove how short-sighted is this man and how “unfortunatelly” unaware is our people.
Now you might ask me, why would he do such things ?
Its pure and simple, and after 15 years and having sensed this is his last chance of achieving it, he admits he wants to be president … he is just so desperate to become a president he could care less where it leads him, either president of the Islamic Republic of Lebanon, or Hariristan, or United States of Lebanon .. what matters is the title ..
PS: i should be expecting major attacks from Aounists defending the General and insulting the LF and bla bla … those i do not blame, they were infected and their cure needs time .. they are patriotic they have the right principles … just following the wrong person .. I suggest they start drinking natural Orance Juice ..

Is it possible that a major portion of the Christians are ‘lost’? Is it possible that the Christians, who were the only ones who resisted the occupation to act as they are now? If you think about it, there must be something that keeps on attracting people to Aoun. Could it be the actions of his opponents i.e. LF?
N,
Christians are supposed to be the cream of the crop in Lebanon. Aoun’s actions must make some sense at least to many people. I’m finding it really hard to explain this, but i’m starting believe that Geagea is not a worthy opponent towards Aoun, in other words ‘khaybet 2amal’. What do you think?
8. Hanoun | June 29th, 2007 at 11:58 pm
I’m an ex LF fighter who lives in Canada now, I was forced to leave my country in 92 to escape being proscuted for being an LF or christian that opposes syria for that matter, and all this is becuase of Aoun…recently I was shocked to find out that many Lebanese kids (14 years old to 18 years old) who live where I live are Aoun followers. I found it so interesting that I went around asking these kids how and why they follow aoun, I was astonished to hear the Whys. these kids believe that the LF are thugs who shoot at churched and insult the cross, and the list goes on and on. THIS IS WHAT THE TAYYAR representives are teaching our kids, they are feeding them lies and lies about the LF so they can increase their numbers as a party…I was happy to invite some of these kids to explain to them the many sacrifices the LF has done over the years, and to my luck I was able to show them the light. so to your point N10452, Aoun is a virus and his followers are spreading that virus into the hearts of the young lebanese living abroad…

Some of your claims are false , I dont know which ouwet hatred school you went to ,but you should at least remember the massive ouwet failure among christianity from internal conflicts (hareb al boundoukiye) to internal divisions ( ouwet 7akim, ouwet 7baya2, ouwet 3ti2 ..) pft. One more thing, Aoun was not in power during your political crisis , aoun came as a result of your bad deeds . In my opinion , ouwet created aoun! I leave it to you as homework to figure out what went wrong and why Aoun became so strong and famous in between the lebanese , especially christians !!
Allow me , for a moment , to depart from my alleged role as a AOUNIST and return to science . When you have a cancer tumor, you may remove the tumor itself surgically . you may also strave it by preventing new blood . If you want to be sure ,it is best to do both , and this is what GMA went for , he removed the cancer surgically so it wont effect the rest of the body ( lebanon) otherwise KEN KIBIR AL CANCER W MET LEBNEN! It will happen again , if the ground is not prepared carefully agaisnt the 14th of march dreams .
I have no doubt, that AOUN will prevail . But the longer it takes you to understand your allies and the new rules of this MODERN war on lebanon , the more costly and painfull the victory will be . Regardless, I’m not bashing your beliefs and I highly respect them but how far can you go as LFERS ? Your normal place should be ; behind GMA , as we say ; law bada tchate ghayamit ouwet! At last, just look at your last 2 yrs in power ! What did you accomplish?! Or you waiting on the miracle of the bible-quruan? Then , keep waiting!

LF is indeed the Lebanese Forces Cromwell.
John,
Unfortunatelly sometimes having educated people in ur society is rather a drawback than an advantage when those educated are not well directed and oriented…
Come to think of it, where does FPM differ from the LF as in principles and goals ?? probably none … but the people seem more attracted to a mad general yelling at everyone and calling them names ..
The LF was unpopular because it was a militia, even though it was protecting its people and fighting for the right cause ..
Hakim is not a mediatic person, but no he was no dissapointment back in the 89-90s, the people judged wrong and made us LFers pay the price for it …
The problem with AOun is that people forget, he might have the right demands, but he is no where near the right person to ask for them .. but we forget and forget !!
Did u hear Michel el Murr talking about democracy yesterday ?? and how he wants the people to decide ?? boukra bisseero yi7ebbou !

Aoun is like Elia Cohen.
Anyone remeber that guy, who managed to be the defense Minister in Syria? but turned out to be an Israeli spy. for me, Aoun is more than a virus, it’s a fatal illness, and his role was defined more than 20 years ago, from the moment he came on to be the Army commander, replacing the good General Ibrahim Tannous. we should ask ourselves, why the Syrians and their allies back then approved for Aoun to be the Army Commander, despite he was involved in the biggest battles as leader of the 8th battallion against them.
While answering this question correctly, we can realize all the truth.
Best Regards N10452 for your great postings
14. Rodge | June 30th, 2007 at 12:02 pm
OOOPS, sorry the name of the previous Army commander is Ibrahim Tannous not Michel. It’s like i was hit by Micho’s Virus

N10452,
sorry I didn’t pay attention, but thx anyway. Maybe i miss Lebanese apples, since last time i tasted it when i went to Lebanon almost 2 years ago. Bachir u’re right, Cohen was preserving his country interest, and Micho also, his Syria country interest. Personnaly, i don’t consider someone who have a Lebanese Nationality as Lebanese, to be Lebanses, a person should love his country, not only one small chair (Kersi Ri’asi) located in Baabda in the country.
19. dany | June 30th, 2007 at 4:17 pm
One guy here is asking how come most christians who are cream of the crop, can be mistaken. I have one name from the past for you, Hitler. The germans at the time thought they were just that and they followed Hitler to total destruction. It took them a while to realise who wrong they were. As I always say, leave Aoun to history, it will deal with him nicely…
I read a Aounist blog the other kid. It makes you realise the strenght of the virus. I always used to say that most aounists are aounists because they hate the LF not because they like aoun, this was proven when I read their comments. And this is why they don’t see the reality of Aoun. They don’t have time to read him, they only have time to hate. And this is why all the ex aounists tell you we hate everybody. These few elightened ones still hate Geagea, however are not willing to follow blindly. Which is perfectly fine. We do not have to follow one or the other. We can decide not to follow anyone of the two.. Not one comment was like an analysis of SG’s political positions (like we do here with 3aounak jeyeh min allah), they go on and on about crimes that were alledgedly committed by LF and Geagea. It really makes you sick to think that these people were LFers until 88 and were protected and used the protection of the LF at the time, and then all of a sudden, the circus comes to town and everybody cheers for the clown.
I accept that mistakes were made and are still done to this day, but we are here because of one person… GMA… Anyway, this is useless. Aounists will be aounists. If only they take a step back, and think that geagea and LF do not exist and do a small analysis of aoun and his policies, maybe then they can answer me when I ask them:” Please name one mistake that Aoun made since 1988″. This is still a tough question for them.. Their answers are usually as childish as the answers i am going to get to the sentence :” imagine there is no geagea and lf”. One word describes Aoun, Megalomaniac….
