I am glad the LF and Kataeb decided not to visit Syria neither for condoleances or for any other reason.

So what if Hariri wants to visit ? So what if Aoun went there ?
So what if Jumblatt is apologizing to Syria now ?

Can someone explain to me why we should show any respect to this criminal Bashar ?

Did Bashar or Hafez come to present his condoleances for Ramzi Irani? or Pierre Boulos? Or Gebran Tueni ? Or Sheikh Pierre ?
Did he even send formal condoleance letters to the Lebanese government and the martyrs’ families?
Those were killed by this regime, yet some of our politicians find it ok to go shake the hand of this murderer…

Let him rot in hell, him and his dead father and two dead brothers and the whole Syrian criminal regime. (i repeat regime not people).

Finally, if LF & Kataeb decide to change their mind and visit Syria for any other reason, let them rot in hell too !!

Very well said N. All they talk about now is who is visiting and who is not.

Screw visiting them for no-sense reasons ! When there’s something diplomatic that needs to be done, then be it, but not just for the sake of going.

The syrian regime is what it is.
    Hafez was a war criminal.
His son is much more lenient.
But if we want to talk like that ya N, we shouldn’t even be hypocritical in our stances. How do we invite and let condelezza rice come to lebanon when her administration orders the israelies to wage war on our country and kill 1,200 of our citizens. How do we go visit Bush when he claims to support the lebanese people while sending hundreds of tons of laser guided missiles for israeli f-16s? Where is our dignity? How do let a woman who describes the massacre of our children as the birth pangs of a New Middle East come and visit us?

Bashar does not come visit Lebanon. He was against March 14. Many of the recent killings in Lebanon were blamed on syria. Many naively believed it as we believed that 911 was done by 22 terrorists who could barely fly a cessna. Hafez’s regime did assassinate and kill many of our people in the past. But he is gone. When the USSR was dissolved and the new russia emerged. Did the US refuse to negotiate with russia? I’m not saying the regime in syria has changed but we need to work with what we have. Bashar is in control and Hafez is dead. The better the relations we have have with syria then the more open minded they will become towards us and others in general. It will take time but eventually we will not be at much odds. Afterall what is the point of hating and hating and hating. We are here to make positive long lasting solutions that work!

I can easily vote for you in the next election :)

  • 14. Rambo | December 16th, 2009 at 12:13 pm

The LF and Amine tried hard to get an invitation to syria. Amine tried when he declared few weeks ago that he is in contact with syrians, his meeting with wahab got the talk between him and syria going,….
Samir Geagea said few weeks ago, that he has no problem going to syria. His VP Adwan declared that LF is with syria trenches against Israel, ….

All these political msgs didn’t get them a ticket to Syria.

If things are going in the same direction, samir Geagea and Amine role will be minimized by their allies.

Next municipal election might show the sign into that direction.

  • 18. Darwish | December 16th, 2009 at 6:13 pm

We have to look in the mirror N. As a people, we simply can’t agree on much and we just allow our diffrerences and external influences to dictate to us how we should act. It has been like this since the beginning of time and the 2005 revolution was just a small snapshot of a national aspiration that quickly faded, again, because we simply can’t find ways to work together to build a nation. We’d rather bicker and fight until it dawns on everyone in the world that we do not deserve to be on our own…so here comes syrian tutelage again! What can Amin or DSG do? Their hands are tied and they must work within their alliance otherwise all by themselves, they won’t be able to do much! Sad but true!

I have heard it from so many people before, this blog is promoting hatred and division among the Lebanese, the youth in specific.

I have been reading this blog for a while, and all I hear is sectarian debates coming out of the same people over and over again. For example,Michele uses the word iben da7ye for each and every individual who might sound shiaa to her, and so on… You get my point.

This is sad, sad but true.

    Doc,

The LF has some respectable people. Too bad these days we are left with those who consider themselves LF by only criticizing and insulting other groups in the country. They contribute nothing to expanding the organization or helping the country. Sure it can be fun sometimes making fun of other people BUT will that get us anywhere? NO. This is what is happening in general. The problem is that they have misunderstandings about the current situation or problems facing the organization and the country. You need to find the first and main problem that caused them to feel and become this way and tackle it. Clear anything up and restore the normal relations that some of the LF members should have with fellow Lebanese, Syrians, Palestinians and etc…The most basic lie I use to base my hate on was that it was all the Palestinians and Islamic support that caused the situation in the country and region to become the way it is. Once I found out the truth about it, I stopped hating them and uncovered the lies that caused me to hate them in the first place. Once you know the truth and facts then you will get along much better and actually make progress. For the other part, il raso tanke bas byifham hake min il raso tanke until you tackle the problem once and for all.

  • 33. Michele | December 17th, 2009 at 6:03 pm

I got ur point ya anti religion: u are an I-D-I-O-T!

When I talk abt Da7ieh I talk abt the ignorant followers of hezboshit ya hablé! My cousins are Shiites and educated ones who defintely don’t follow hezboshit!

Ibn el dahieh for me is someone like alloush who always lived wz an inferiority complex n who thinks that if he supports a miltia that is terrorising the group of people he always dreamt to be part of than maybe just maybe we will accept him amongst our circle!

Look at jaafar kif bi sarsekh when one of us pretend to consider his opinion?
If recognition is their objective well defintely they won’t get it by supporting a terrorist miltia nor a terrorist state!

  • 34. Doc1559 | December 17th, 2009 at 8:47 pm

    Mike

    I agree 100%

The LF has some respectable people, I agree with you there, but the majority of its supporters are not respectable nor want to live in peace with the rest of the Lebanese people… They call for federalism while hiding behind division, for example, in the USSR, Jews were considered a nation even though many of them chose not to adopt that nationality, and this is exaclty what is happening with Lfesr now days, they don’t wanna be a part of this country, they don’t wanna be a part of this gov.. badun lebnen khassa fiyun !! 7ila iza fik..

Most of them fall into the “perfectionist” category along with some stupid shiaa like okab saker and co ..Perfectionists are those stupid and naive people who stick to single issues(souri 3duwak ), I have heard it all from them, al sourih 3duwak, al soureh 3duwak, they repeat it like parrots without understanding the meaning or the consequence behind it, this is what you call stupidity !! Keep in mind that perfectionists are always out of touch with reality, and tend to be surprised when things don’t go their way !! Does M14 position ring the bell ?

We live in a country that has given us the chance to choose our political affiliation without being forced into one color regime(i.e north korea) , we are free to choose our path but this free will to choose does not give us the right to call our fellow lebanese who disagree with us Terro–rists, rap–pist, mohamadists and the list goes on and on, sadly some of these supposably educated ouwet defended the crusades and went into a 200 pages debates trying to convince me that the crusade war in the region was the right thing to do and Lebanese Christians should follow such path !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The debates are there, no need for me to digggg them…

Lastly, the Nazis did not take power by force, neither did the Italian fascists, zionists and allies at the time (usa,uk) allowed them to grow and then crushed them on the battle field. Israel supportred the LF during the civil war and then crushed them on the battle field by leaving them behind to the aggressive durze bulldog in jabal lebnen… nfess al 3du nafess al khota bass hine mish 3rfin hek..

“Of course, al Qaeda elements are behind this campaign against Christians,” said Nineveh provincial governor Mohammed Kashmoula, who relayed the obvious to the Associated Press. But the World Council of Churches (WCC), in a nearly 500-word public statement, seemed to imply the Christians were slaughtered by anonymous forces.

The above paragraph is from the Christians of Iraq website. Ask yourself who really is al qaeda?

Same type of people who placed bombs in synagogues in iraq after the zionists created israel in order to let them flee from there.

The situation is much more complicated than what you think. The Lebanese/Syrian political equation is either black or white, there is no gray area about it. Whether you like it or not, Syria and Lebanon are indeed in the same trench when challenged by the Isreali enemy…. Politically and militarily speaking, lebanon is allied to Syria, that being said, Syria will have to support the LA army in case the LA army goes to war. If syria joins the war, then its miliraty alliance with Iran will have to join ect…

Due to the Syrian MILITARY alliance with Lebanon and Iran, syria is not in a good position to ” t2a3edkon 3al khazou2 w bte3mil salema ma3 israel” , they simply can’t do that ya hammer, the situation is way bigger than what you think if you truly belive that the syrian are in position to act on their own without consulting us in advance.. Nawww, my friend, things sometimes are beyond the basic understanding of us all.
