I was more than shocked to see Georges Adwan, the LF VP go to the airport and welcome The criminal Samir Kuntar so warmly and passionetly ..
The man was all over Kuntar, hugging & Kissing him ( too bad i never got a picture of it).
Nonethless, who will hold him responsible for what he did ?? How is it acceptable for the LF to have its VP behave in such a shameful way ?? Even if Adwan said he went on his own, this is nonsense !
Hakim did not comment on the issue and probably wont.
What is next ? a visit to Nasrallah to reconcile ?

N,
Why don’t you take a few fellow LF’ers and go protest in front of hakim’s house…let him know that you and all the party faithful are fed up with this behavior and that it is time to straighten things up from within the party if it is going to have a future. Personally, I think it is time for LF to review where the party line stands as far as public policy. I agree, there is no reason for any of the christian parties, incl. orangy to have been anywhere near that shameful celebration.
5. Mickel | July 25th, 2008 at 12:48 am
Paul
A democratic president is always bad for Lebanon. We need a strong republican who’s tough on Syria and Iran.
Obama says that he’s willing to talk to Iran, and I’m afraid that he’s going to make a deal with them over us.
McCain isn’t great but he’s still better than Obama.
6. VOR | July 25th, 2008 at 2:57 am
Mickel,
Wake up…US national interests trump all other concerns whether you have a democrat or republican in the white house. We’re expendable.
7. bashirist for life | July 25th, 2008 at 2:58 am
I can see it now Hassouna and Hakim holding hands, i tell you we’re nothing more than bunch of pussies scared to piss them off and suffer the results, i wish we can grow some balls and have the same attitude and determination as we did back in the days, hell with obama and McCain, the U.S never did anything worth mentioning regarding Lebanon, they’ll tell you what you want to hear just to get elected.

How does one view the president of lebanon with respect giving cheers to samir al kuntar ? Your input plz..
10. nevermind | July 25th, 2008 at 12:39 pm
I think it is about time that we know, that we are becoming a minority in Lebanon, and soon we will become like other christians in the middle-east.
If we are affraid of hisballa, because we are right, because they are stronger, and because they can finish us in few hours.
No one cares, from the USA point of view, democrats or republicans, about few christians who are living in a small country, and they are divided between themselves 100 divisions!!!
We had our chance, when USA kicked syria out, to have a strong christian unity, but nooooooooo Mr Aoun wanted the whole cake for himself.
Believe me, no one in the civilized word, trust us ( lebanese christians ) anymore, because we are a bunch of loosers, never did a deal and stick to it.
Take a good example of our friends in hizballa, all the world fears them!!! why??? because they are united, because they are disciplined and because they don’t stab each others in the back.
The dream of making an independant christian state is over, wake up, Aoun did the job for the syrians…. and now he is confirming that.
It’s a pitty, but it’s the truth….
Advice : khabbo raskoun iza fikoun
11. nevermind | July 25th, 2008 at 12:49 pm
Doc 1559,
I see the president as an imbecile, who is sending a message to the outside world, that we are a state who backs terrorisim, and we simply can not be trusted.
In the past we were always blaming syria… for all the things that happened…
WHO DO YOU BLAME NOW????
Only one solution I can see my friend, a dictator, who will hold up a stick , and guide us like sheeps. ( like all other arab countries ).
12. Fuziyad | July 25th, 2008 at 1:09 pm

13. paul | July 25th, 2008 at 1:20 pm
100% Mickel,Patrick.
the man has talked about everything except about iran and syria, although these States are the fundamental evil for all the world.
14. Rambo | July 25th, 2008 at 2:38 pm
A more important question should be, who will hold Geagea responsible for such a thing?
15. Yas | July 25th, 2008 at 2:40 pm
Maybe if we take a good look at hizballa, we can understand how a strong unite community can be built!
by benefiting from there experience, specially about choosing their allies, on a basis of “testing their trust and practices” before deepening ties. until reaching a point of sufficient reciprocal but partial trust. enough to built a state around.
instead of crying like little girls we should think and act to create a rational logical base of knowledge that can help us understand the new policies taking place in our country.
so stop crying and try to forget the glory of your past, and try not to be pissed off by every thing instead try to do something to ensure our endurance in Lebanon without outside help.
16. nevermind | July 25th, 2008 at 3:21 pm
Good question Rambo,
But I would like to ask another question, I’ve been thinking about it for a long time.
What are the internal laws of the LF? I mean, now the head of the LF is Dr Geagea, but is there a period of time? Do they ( LF members ) elect a new leader like each 5 years or so? does anyone knows?

No party in Lebanon is a democratic party.
It’s all family businesses:
The Gemayel family
The Jumblat family
The Hariri family
The Mouawad family
etc.
I was hoping that the LF would be the first democratic pary in Lebanon.
21. nevermind | July 25th, 2008 at 8:06 pm
Mickel,
I am also convinced that the LF is the only democratic party, and i was like waiting so they can put new laws and etc…. but seems everyone is silent.
yareit 7adan min hal rife2 bifasserelna.
22. fad14 | July 25th, 2008 at 8:14 pm
Mickel:
Some Exceptions: the Hariri family created the party as a movement to support their plans rather than a democratic party.
It is not even a Hizb officially and its just a movement to support their plans.
Mouawad don’t have a party or even a movement, they are part of Kornet Shehwan and part of M14 and their supporters are those who benefit from them. So you can’t simply get support if you remove them.
Same applies fro Franjieh and couple of others.
LF is a political party
Kataeb
Amal
FPM etc are parties. (supposedly)
23. Mickel | July 25th, 2008 at 8:26 pm
Fad the Mouawad family have the Independence Movement or Harakat l Istiklal.

Look, I agree that Samir Qantar is a criminal and shouldn’t be greeted this way. But seriously, let it go already. There are some things that, unfortunately, we can’t control, so just stop whining about it and move on. That’s a problem we Lebanese as a whole, sadly, can’t get over. It’s this attitude that has given us misery from the days of the Civil War. So please remember that the past is the past, and we can’t change it, and only think for the future.
26. bashirist for life | July 26th, 2008 at 1:03 am
Robin,
I agree however if we don’t voice our opinion, history will repeat it self, then what?
27. VOR | July 26th, 2008 at 2:58 am
This shows that DSG is beholden to the leadership of M14 that made the collective decision to go to this shameful celebration…look it is over now, but if the hakim has any balls left, he’ll need to stand up to Hariri and let’s them him that he is not going to be part of that kind of crap…if anyone can do it, then I believe that he can!
28. Robin | July 26th, 2008 at 3:38 am
bashirist, I see what you mean, however, I personally experienced that in Lebanon, when someone voices their opinion, sadly, the problem keeps growing and growing, and may evntually erupt to events similar to the ones we’ve seen back in May (aka, history repeating itself). Unfortunately my Lebanese brother bashirist, Lebanon is the only place I know of that has problems grown from voicing of opinions. It’s not like in the U.S., where whether you’re Republican or Democrat, there’s no fear of a problem escalting from voicing you’re opinion. Believe me, I’ve seen the differences in both countries, and it’s very unfortunate for me as a Lebanese and part of M14 to say that Lebanon is a place where voicing your opinion will equal BIG problems.
29. Fuziyad | July 26th, 2008 at 4:20 am
To all…
and particularly to VOR… do you really think that all the story has things to do with following hariri or not?? got us used to more sophisticated analysis…
Before may, mouzéyadé on what the LF and m14 should do was debatable…I always thought that the hezb was very strong and well prepared for civil war and ready to launch one anytime. Many thought(most of ministers sadly) that we could act against them and that they would not react and were bluffing…
THEY TRIED.THEY FAILED.
Hezbollah is ready to burn and kill and civil war just like war in general is not something they fear…we got confronted to the choice in may and most of those barking now and were barking before (N among them) thought that war was the worse alternative and the public opinion in general pushed for a capitulation in doha…
I think that one has to know what to expect and what he wants. I know from insider sources that the very same ministers, jumbaltist or not who were all excited about provoking hizb were the one pushing to pull out the decisions while the ones who opposed(only above 18 minitsers) didn’t want to do so…
I think one should know what he wants…the choices are clear now, Lebanon has a governor, his name is wafic safa and he makes rustom ghazalé look like a nice sheep…
I still remember the comments on this webiste in may…sunni shia war they called it…let us stay out of it!!!!
Did the dhimmies wake up now???yes to doha and no to kuntar??
and btw what’s so wrong about kuntar?? ahla fi…unless the LF should now consider israel as a friend…
NNNNNNNNN, you never answered me, are you with 10452 or partition/federalism?? do you know?? did you ever ask yourself?? (hint:10452 is the size of lebanese territory as a whole)
30. VOR | July 26th, 2008 at 5:53 am
Fuziyad,
We all know what hizb is capable of…they are thugs and will burn and kill because that’s the only behavior they really know…no wonder they’re affraid of letting go of their weapons, they wouldn’t know what to do with themselves, if that day ever came. That’s why I am advocating thet either we accept this “fait accompli” and we move on forward or we do get ready to confront the bastards because another round of fighting is just lurking around the corner. Hariri made the case that he is not willing to fight, he’s an entrepreneur and will always compromise his principles, whereas hakim and sheikh Amin know too well the costs of giving in to blackmail and should not accept to compromise, but rather to stand up for what is right…even though the costs may be high. It sickens me to say it, but the christians in general have allowed themselves to be influenced by others when in fact they do have an opportunity to unite and put themselves in a position to dictate terms rather than be followers of Hariri or Nasrallah. ya3ni shi bi 2arref!
31. Rambo | July 26th, 2008 at 7:11 am
Fuziad,
Have you ever thought that 10452 is one country under a federal system? Has it occured to you that federalism is just a political system nothing more? Last time I checked Switzerland is 41,290 sq km undera a federal system and it is one country.
Which idiot taught you that federalism is division?
Federalism is the theory or advocacy of federal political orders, where final authority is divided between sub-units and a center. Unlike a unitary state, sovereignty is constitutionally split between at least two territorial levels so that units at each level have final authority and can act independently of the others in some area. Citizens thus have political obligations to two authorities. The allocation of authority between the sub-unit and center may vary, typically the center has powers regarding defense and foreign policy, but sub-units may also have international roles. The sub-units may also participate in central decision-making bodies. Much recent philosophical attention is spurred by renewed political interest in federalism, coupled with empirical findings concerning the requisite and legitimate basis for stability and trust among citizens in federations. Philosophical contributions have addressed the dilemmas and opportunities facing Canada, Australia and Europe, to mention just a few areas where federal arrangements are seen as interesting solutions to accommodating differences among populations divided by ethnic or cultural cleavages yet seeking a common political order.

ouft ouft i just heard that streda invited michel and elias el murr to dinner .
wlak ma 3al hseb michel el murr is a syrian puppet and u always said shame on aoun for allying with him .
i suggest u start questioning ur hakim’s plans and know them very well before claiming anything good about him.
35. M | July 26th, 2008 at 11:08 am
ya wled…
if ja3ja3 has a chance of k*ssing nasralla’s hand in return for his support in next elections he will not count to 3 before doing so.
ennou ya3ni why do u think ur hakim is m3anfaz 3a hezballa? laysh ma 3anfaz during 2005 elections? back then hezballa was a good friend and now because hezballa will be against ur 14 ertet 3isabi now hezballa is bad?
walla ur hakim fascinates us with his magnificient so called strategic brain.
by the way, why are u surprised to see poor adwan there? last year when there were talks about having elections in baabda to replace antoine ghanem, ur sheikh amin visited nasralla.
wlak isn’t it time for u poor kids to understand the game?
big difference between a man like aoun shaking hands with hezballa on a strong basis (2 strong parties) and ur hakim and amin k*ssing nasralla’s hands for votes.
36. Fuziyad | July 26th, 2008 at 12:49 pm
Rambo, I know that federalism is not division and that you can be a federal state in 10452km2…but if your programm, your idea is 10452 then it means you want 1 one united country and not a federal one…
Bashir had changed his mind at that time, he was first with the idea of federalism or partition then when he felt he could dominate the whole country he changed the plan and started with the 10452 slogan mainly to express that he didn’t want federalism…
The problem is that most followers got confused and started defending federalism and 10452 in the same time….I find it very funny…

You think the dream of a Christian state is over? You think the dream of “real” democracy in Lebanon is over?
Just wait til HEZBOLLAH demands “real” democracy, and asks for a new census to be taken, and for representation in the parliament and cabinet be split according to the new census, and not according to one taken more than half a century ago…

if u think that ur hakim rasou marfou3 then u have a big problem defining dignity and honor.
bi shoo rasou marfou3? following hariri and jombi orders? or fighting with his allies about a wizara? or copying the FPM’s shi3arat? fpm came up with the shi3ar of ‘hala2 reje3 el haq li s7abou’ . the next day when hariri gave the wizaret el 3adel to someone that ur hakim can say no to, the ewet started saying the same shi3ar.
bi shoo rasou marfou3? killing lebanese army? killing innocent ppl? killing priests and monseniors? bi shoo marfou3? bi iyyem hajez el berbara wel teshlee7? killing franjiyyi and his family? killing infants? tehjeer el masee7iyyi from jabal and east sayda and then bowing to the other criminal who made it all happen? visiting syria thinking asad will welcome him as a respectful leader while asad didn’t even bother saying hi?
tell me bi shoo marfou3? agreeing with the syrians to bomb the last anti syrian and free lebanese territory and allowing the syrians to enter east beirut and asr b3abda?
iza enta bteftekher ennou ras hakeemak marfou3 lamma byethajjam 3al jaysh then ras hakeemak biykoun marfou3 lamma a*ri bikoun marfou3 because ras hakeemak and ras a*ri sawa.
44. M | July 27th, 2008 at 12:39 am
iza hakeemak 3an jad rasou marfou3 then why don’t the lebs and especially christians love him? why do they all hate ur ewet? ask urself this question and then see iza 3an jad rasou marfou3.

If I were in the president’s shoes at the kuntar celebration. I would be the first one to show leaderships by promising and acting upon the goal we always wanted to achieve ” free our prisoners ”. The best example of leaderships is to show your suppport to your ppl no matter what the sitaution looks like.
Lebanese leadership is needed now more than ever b4 and this is why YOUR LF were present at that celebration
