This is an interesting interview that will surely define Nadim’s political agenda for the elections and after the elections. I will prepare few questions for NBG_team to address them to Nadim and post them here once done.

I will first let you guys comment on the interview and ask some questions if you have.

Interview with Sheikh Nadim

Procedure will be as follows:
I will email NBG_team or send her the questions which will be emailed to Sheikh Nadim and i will show you all a print screen of his response for credibility reasons.

    One question :

    What makes Nadim a better rep than his mom solange??????? What did Solange do (in the past 4 yrs) beside warming up the rep seat??

    Feudalism is the worst thing you can have…..

    Thank you NBG_team…

    Questions:
    1- On whose list does he intend to run ?
    2- What’s his position on the displaced (mhajjareen) from the mountains and Joumblat’s (his ally from March 14) collusion in their misfortune

    I am a supporter of Bachir (may he rest in peace) and consider him as a hero.
    However, the idea of having his son Nadim running for parliament makes me wonder… Had Nadim not been Bachir’s son, would he be running for parliament? (I personally don’t think so)
    What did he achieve till now? What are his aspirations if elected? What kind of change does he want to offer me (a potential voter) when the first message he sends by running for parliament is maintaining this “sick” feudal system?
    I would have loved to see him achieve something (social or political) without the help of this heritage before running for parliament…
    I personally think this is a weakness that Aoun will take advantage of…
    Good luck

    Who does Mr. Gemayel mean in the following exchange?

    I think a clarification is in order so that we do not misinterpret this statement.

  • 5. hochoz | January 2nd, 2009 at 4:29 am

    I second on charbel’s statement…

    Clarification is definitely needed…

    the lebanese forces has changed….for the better… there’s no way we’d let anybody
    bring it back to the dark ages…

    Alla ykhallilna el Dr. Geagea..

    in 2005, wn hizbulla gangs on their mopeds drove to achrafieh and started shooting in the air,shops ,balconies etc… I was amazed that all the achrafieh people stood still!!!!!!!!
    where was Nadim Gmayel??? where r his guys??? I didn’t see any action to the reaction…
    I want to say, if it was Bashir instead, I dought that he would have stood silent.
    when there is real action, we need action, not talk talk talk….

  • 11. Anonymous | January 2nd, 2009 at 8:57 pm

    get your facts straight F.A. In feb. 05 it was a group of Sunni fanatics backed by DAR el fatwa and future movement that attacked ashrafieh and threw rocks at churches. Remember geagea’s statement: “these are our allies doing this”
    shame on him and his allies
    to answer your question, sure NBG didn’t say anything, lesh 7ada mn “masi7iyyt” M14 byestsrje yente2id hariri and his movement ???
    … And on that same day aoun signed his MOU with the terrorists… Indeed it was a shameful day for Christians
    Allah yse3edna

  • 12. F.A | January 2nd, 2009 at 10:43 pm

    you might be right anonymous, they could be sunnis,chi3as… whatever, and I am not defending DSG statement either.
    All what I am saying, what makes NBG different from the others?? ( except he is the son of late Bashir)
    I do have a question to who knows NBG, because I honestly don’t know, what is his educational background? any political science? law?…??
    because I feel myself stupid in backing a person just because we know his relatives!

    Could you please put a whole topic about

    Nadim Bachir Gemayel’s right in reclaiming leadership for the lebanese forces?

    I would like to know what everybody thinks about this statement from the article

  • 15. Che | January 3rd, 2009 at 6:28 am

    Dr. Geagea is the Leader! End of the Disscussion.

    Let NBG worry about his wardrobe, Gucci glasses and hair gel.

    ya jame3a in this country a party=a family:
    Kataeb= gemayel
    Ahrar= Chamoun
    FPM= Aoun (or Bassil ;) )
    LF= Geagea
    Amal= Berri
    BN= Edde
    PSP= Joumblat
    FM= Hariri
    etc etc etc….
    Wlek tfeh 3ala hek 3a2liyye, shi bi la33e el nafes… Don’t get me wrong, I love Bashir Gemayel and that’s why I’ve been asking about Nadim, but after reading some stuff on the guy (who by the way I don’t even know) I realize more and more that his only program is … HIS LAST NAME.
    You know what…. I’m sticking to my “war2a bayda” BS, ashraflé wou andaflé
    One last word… many years ago when I was still in college (AUB) there were the 1996 elections and the walls of beirut were filled with idiots running for the elections…some very funny guys (I was never able to find out who, keeping in mind the syrian moukhbarat were extremely active during during those cursed days) had put everywhere on the walls pictures of a donkey below which you could read the phrase (in arabic): vote for me, I’m the best candidate…
    So… for those of you who won’t go for the “war2a bayda” thing, you should go ahead and vote for the donkey…you’ll be better off than with any aoun or geagea or gemayel or hariri….
    Take care

    Anonymous,

    With all due respect, Geagea came from a very modest family with no political background. He was a very young zealot Christian and Patriotic when he joined the Kataeb, whose history speaks for itself transparently. He paid dearly from his youth until he was freed from jail. His life was and still is for the cause. He didn’t climb the echelon of the Lebanese Forces on a silver plate or through inheritance! GEAGEA IS THE EPITOME OF ANTI-FEUDALISM.

    Classifying him as you did with your list is utter ignorance of history and doing great injustice to him!

  • 18. Fuziyad | January 3rd, 2009 at 2:08 pm

    Che, eza btesma7lé, geagea, berri, aoun or nasrallah indeed did not inherit the leadershsip still they gained it one way or another on the battlefield, which in my opinion is not very glorious either if not worse than the feudal way…

  • 19. Rima | January 3rd, 2009 at 2:48 pm

    In his interview, Nadim Gemayel emphasized his willingness to stick to the Kataeb Party and although he said kil shi bi wa2tou he doesn’t seem in the mood to confront LF in any way. He is too wise for his age and I think he will be cooperating with LF instead of fighting with them for leadership…I truly beleive that Nadim Gemayel is much more interested in uniting the Christians that in dividing them…

    Bashir Gemayel is a “legend” whether we like him or not…Nadim lost his sister before he was born and when he was born he lost a wonderful father…Nadim is so special in that way…Can you just imagine what the man feels everytime he listens or sees his father in videos? So dramatic…That is the bitter legacy that Bachir left to his son…
    Nadim will be an exceptional leader because he got both the wisdom of his mother and the passion of his father…

    Although I am against “wirateh siyessiyeh”, I fully support NBG and urge all people in Ashrafieh to vote for him.
    God bless you Nadim and good luck for the coming elections

  • 20. Rambo | January 3rd, 2009 at 4:13 pm

    Rima,

    At his age his dad was almost running the country.

  • 21. Fuziyad | January 3rd, 2009 at 4:16 pm

    right rambo and walid jumblatt was also the same age…but I don’t think lebanon goverened by kids was a success at that time…

  • 22. Doc1559 | January 3rd, 2009 at 6:24 pm

    Delta

    We’re talking about the parliament seat here. ya3ne bhanik ana iza wesslet ma3kun la TIZFIT TORA2T only ! when al adiyeh ya delta? when ra7u al chuhada ? la nzafit tora2t w n2oul YES SIR lal hariri ? khalas ya delta khalass ….

    Kelna bi hawa sawa…

  • 23. Anonymous | January 3rd, 2009 at 6:37 pm

    che before making accusations and using big words you should understand what I was saying… It’s true that geagea came from a poor family and worked his way up in the party (he did that over several corpses, but that’s for another day…)
    Now he is exactly like any other gemayel or edde or whatever… he acts like the party belongs to him, his own little property that sethrida will eventually inherit. in addition to that he only surrounds himself with yes people, like any other feudal “leader”…
    so, yes LF belongs to the geagea family now.
    PS: same applies to FPM
    take care
