False allegations have been circulating for years, on how Sheikh Bashir wanted to install a proxy regime for Israel in Lebanon and on how The Kataeb party is a fascist party and inspired from the Nazis…

There are many other allegations but those i read in a post done by Marxist From Lebanon on Matn elections. The post entitled Regarding Matn Elections: Insanity, Racism, Sectarianism .

I will start with The Kataeb being labeled as a “facist” party.
“Gemayel doesn’t hide it, he belongs to a fascist party (hence the name Phalange). “

The Kataeb were not forged in a facist way and were not inspired from Franco as some say. When Sheikh Pierre came to Lebanon after being exiled in Egypt, they start the Phalanges as a youth party that was interested in sports, and it was inspired from the Sokols, and indeed they kept working as a non-political entity for a quite a while before declaring the Phalanges a party.

As for Franco and Sheikh Pierre’s visit to Nazi Germany, he was impressed more by the organizational structure of those regimes, rather than the fascist ideology, and Kataeb’s original ideology, even though there was not really one, was closer to secularism than fascism.

I will develop further if needed, Sheikh Pierre had a “special” character and he was a bit imposing indeed, but he was loved rather than feared and he as a large group of advisors he listened to, we can debate his politics later on, i dont agree on lots of points, but to accuse Kataeb of being fascist is wrong.

As for Sheikh Bashir and the Israelis, this is a very long topic, but i will resume it for the time being saying Bash was always after a strong relation with the Americans, and was never willing to bow to Israel or any proxy regime, and even though he was capable of doing this puppet regime and ruling Lebanon and its muslims with a hand of steel, he refused and argued with the Israelis and went on his first visit to the KSA later on to prove

This man believes in his country, and believes he could unite his people under one banner, and he died for that idea ..

You gotta be kidding me man! You’re basically telline me that your party is not a fascist party, because … it’s not a fascist party. If you ask me, and I know you won’t because you guys have all the answers and don’t believe in asking people, in order to see if your party is a fascist party or not, all you need to do is visit this website, and spend 30 minutes reading all this hate-speech and propaganda.
