Now lets compare parliaments ..
Posted by N10452After comparing the Lebanese cabinet to the Israeli one, lets compare the number of minister we have compared to other countries.
Knowing that Lebanon is a 4 million people country with a very low GDP, we managed somehow to make a cabinet of 30 “so-far-useless” ministers.
France with its 65 million habitants has almost 20 ministers.
Spain with its 40 million habitants has 24 ministers.
Germany with its 80 million habitants has 14 federal ministers.
Three small examples that say it all ..
Why do we need 30 ministers ? what is this “Wazir dawoule” position all about ? a minister that only gets paid for doing nothing ? Do you imagine the costs of security and all related issues to a minister that the government is undertaking ??
This country needs 10 ministers max, yet instead we have 30 and why ? no one knows.

N,
Come on now, don’t tell me that Aoun was right when he was proud to be the president and 6 ministers with abou fa7mi and ma3loos,?
I totally agree about the nonsense called wazeer dawli, inno what is his role? just to get paid and make his mom and khelto cheer everytime they c him on TV: YO2BORNI YA IMMI?
Please no one replies that it’s all about the 18 religions we have. there’s no religion who respects its followers accepts to be laughed at with such role.

Too many political parties and religious sects and they all want a share in power.

Agree with Mickel, power hungry, the only one that’s worth mentioning from that picture is Sheikh Pierre ( R.I.P )

mikel
u are right.
zmekk with only 4 neweb now wants more than one minestry .
come on for f*ck sake . tell ur hakim to be more realistic. he doesn’t even deserve one ministry . all what he deserves is a wazir dawli (that’s if hariri and jombi are too generous) .

Your right N
But when the government is made they to take in consideration 3 things:
–> the repartition of different 18 confessions
–>Representation of different parties
–>Alliances
You could guess how complicated the math formula is…
this is the confessional lebanon we want ….we have to live with it : )

I saw you say corruption about the M14 goverment in your previous post.
What the hell kind of a propagandist are you?
Even if you know they are corrupt you’re not supposed to say it!

14. VOR | July 10th, 2008 at 7:22 pm
The answer is very simple N, based on your comparisons with these european countries we’re a backward third world country that only knows how to govern through sects and clans…something we haven’t learned how to overcome yet! That was easy:-)

VOR,
You ve said it perfectly unlike most of the previous comments i just read ..
You speak of confessions and different sects ?? do you really believe we are more diverse than other countries ??
Lebanon can be run by 8 ministers, but 8 who have a clue about how a ministry works and know how to get things done ..
Fuziyad,
The cabinet is a very small group of efficient and professional people representing a certain majority that needs to take care of things ..
Its not a place to bargain with and take without having any clue about it ..
