Amin Gemayel, a leader in the governing coalition, said Saturday that a much-anticipated election for president set for Tuesday was unlikely to take place until next month, diminishing hopes that the deadlock could end soon.

If there wont be any elections on Tuesday, there wont be any at all .. did anyone tell 14 March time is not on our side ???
Who asked Amine Gemayel to dialogue with Berri over the elections ?? He screwed us up in 1988 by his idiotic decision of appointing Aoun .. i am sorry but i dont want him resolving such deadlocks anymore .. and i definitly dont want him as president ..

There is a session on Tuesday, a new president MUST be voted on that day .. its been months since we’ve been arguing with 8th of March forces … whats the point of trying to end the deadlock now ??

I heard also Hariri is to meet with Bush and discuss presidential elections at the beginning of next month ???

So we will not have a new president before two or three weeks ?

I honestly have no clue what March14 is up to but apparently they dont know as well ..

I think it is too early to judge what M14 is doing.
The real test will be on Nov. 14 when we are only 10 days away from the end of Lahoud’s term. Until then everybody is supposed to (at least for show) hope or ask for a consensus candidate.
My personal belief is that a consensus candidate is not possible unless M14 are willing to walk all over the sacrifices of the last three years and reopen the gates in front of a syrian return to Lebanon. I really don’t think that M14 is willing to accept this.

    I don’t agree with u N..
we don’t have to beleive everything said on tv after Gemayel-Berri meeting…
Gemayel didn’t go to meet Berri by himself, it’s march 14 who took the decision after Ghanem’s assassination..so let’s wait and see…
even we’ll not have a new president on tuesday but finally we’ll have one before november 24th…

N as you said before that Berri is a kind of person who u can not trust, but also this kind of person cannot stay loyal to his allies if he sees his benefits somewhere else..
Politics is full of surprises, but i’m sure that the conversation between Amin and Berri is very different from what we heard on tv..

    Cheers.

    Hi there ,

Hell no , Americans are working for their own good . They dont really care about the christians in lebanon . The iraqi chaldeans are the perfect example to look at ! Also , They(usa) killed bashir , deported aoun and jailed Geagea ! A strong christian leader will be agaisnt their agenda, and this is why we are where we are right now ! They like leaders like lyess hrawe !
