In 2006, we avoided a disaster by having the Americans & Europeans on our side. However 2 years later, we managed to put ourselves in the same shitty situation that was back at Hariri ( Rafic) times.
Whenever Israel struck us, the government would stand with Hezbollah and defend it since it had no other way and it legalized it. The new bayen wizare is practically the same as this one and expect Lebanon to be brought down on its knees the next time Hezbollah tries to act funny.

Israel was living in bliss during the civil war. They are trying in a very awkward manner to instigate a Shiaa Sunni face off…civil war.
I would not attach much into this. In 2006 they bombed all infrastrucure inculding those in Christian and Sunni areas. what are they going to do??? carpet bomb the mountain and Ksrouan??
It is politicking. The Kadima elections are up shortly and maybe a general election by next spring.
We should concentrate on the home front by providing lifelines for those poor people who are unemployed and economically depressed.

If this is true and israel is serious, we have no one to blame but us for letting this issue go this far, i can’t understand for the life of me how can a government allow a terrorist group has any say in the day to day operation and the well being of a country. Slowly but surely they’re destroying us and all we are doing is sitting and bitching and can’t do anything, just like a dog that barks a lot but has no bite.

economy and politics are extremely interwoven…how can the economy improves when HA is rearimg to the teeth as if we are waging a WWIII…Israel’s threats won’t encourage any foreign investments…
I think siding by HA through the ministerial statement will put all lebanese in the same basket…This time Israel will retaliate for the warm welcome the criminal Kuntar received from all political parties…
Anyway, we should take their threats seriousely. If HA shows his antariett again, the army and all political figures in lebanon will be targeted including the president and his palace, berri, siniora and the like….that what they meant by ‘all lebanon’…unless Suleiman and the siniora government challege HA no military support to the army will be received from the West…
We have to choices:
destruction by Israel or civil war with HA in a cold war context

ومن شأن هذا المؤتمر أن يتوج تكوين القوات بإقراره النظام الداخلي وإطلاق آلية الاختيار الديموقراطي لمسؤولي الحزب على مستويات القيادة والمصالح والمناطق.

Who said we avoided a disaster? Lebanon got screwed in 2006, the only thing they can hit us harder with is nuclear weapons, thats it. The US and Europe did nothing. 1701 was only accepted by the US when they realized that Lebanon was dieing and Hizballah’s rain of missles wasnt, by then, it was way to late.

Why are we fooling ourselves? In 2006, most areas in Lebanon were considered safe that is why these HA’s cheerleaders were able to come and hide …but now if All lebanon is targeted there would be no place to go to…
Israel payed a great price to clean up the south from these HA military…If HA is annoying us we should it ourselves otherwise, let them rule Lebanon and stop winging about mini state in a state…If we don’t side bu HA they call you Zionists…if you side by them you are terrorists.Just choose you people of Lebanon which one suit you better

well N i think that this threat is serious this time (not like the ones before) especially after the slap the americans got in Georgia and the new situation of russia… a new cold war officially started and the best place for the americans to answer back is the middle east… they have many choices Lebanon, Syria, Iran etc. and the american election is coming so i think that next autumn will be extremely hot in the region..
Cheers.

9. Fou2ad | August 23rd, 2008 at 7:17 am
Rima, I would rather be a terrorist a million times than to be a racist zionist scumbag.
P.S: “Hizbullah takeover”? Iza 2akhado wazir wa7ad min 2asil 30 sarit takeover?
10. Omega | August 23rd, 2008 at 8:43 am
rima manna shatra illa bel na2 wel nadeb keef hezballa supposidly baddou yebla3 lebnen.
ur hakim is making u scared of hezballa to justify his militia leadership of amn el mojtama3 el masee7i (yalli bel sedfi houwwi el mas2ool 3an tehjeer el masee7iyyi min mo3zam el manati2 including jabal lebnen and east sayda and jezzine) . i hope he stops his defending of us because the more he works on ‘defending’ us the more we lose . this means his job is to destroy us and not defend us.

“Iza 2akhado wazir wa7ad min 2asil 30 sarit takeover?”
Come on Fou2ad we both know that you’re smarter than that.

lets not forget amin….
one day in the morning he attacks hezballa and then at night he meets up with nesralla (especially when he feels that the government will hold the elections of b3abda to fill up ghanem’s seat.
please tell me what principles this guy has?
ok what about nasib lahoud? he used to win the elections during the syrian presence and when syria left he couldn’t win. u know why? because the syrians used to back him up by asking the awmiyyi to vote for him.
please tell me what principles this guy has???
please find me ONE march 14 so called leader who has principles . just one.
all what u kids to is sit down and attack aoun and hezballa and try scare ppl that hezballa is going to attack us .
if hezballa badou yebla3na and wants to take over then why didn’t they insist of getting the majority of gov seats? on the contrary. they helped us the christians regain a lot of our lost seats . wlak even ur ewet and amin got 2 seats because of aoun and hezballa’s insisting that the christians get what they want. aoun insisted on getting 5 so hariri was forced to make ja3ja3 name 2 (and of course hariri has to approve) and amin name one. if it wan’t for this then ur hakim would have had nothing in the gov.
shkerou rabkon w tebbou w boosou el ared. khalou el ossa mastoora because iza badou yenkashaf kelshi betroo7ou slata.

I don’t know your background but all I am trying to say if we don’t agree with HA’s politics…HA accuses us of being zionists while his own ally Syria bikil wakeha having negotiations with Israel…So how can you explain this hypocrisy?
15. paul | August 23rd, 2008 at 11:25 am
we should not underestimate the situation.

16. paul | August 23rd, 2008 at 11:49 am
HA protects itself but needs the Christians as sandbags.
17. Rima | August 23rd, 2008 at 12:11 pm

ma ba3rif chou natrin
HA has a MOU with Iran and Syria (our enemys)and they have always the opportunity to close agreements with Israel(their enemy)that I sometimes think Nasrallah and Zippy Livni chat all the day long
19. Steve | August 24th, 2008 at 4:55 am
Israel never cared or will ever care about lebanese. any excuse they will attack. if hez did what israel did today there would of been war (went across the border 100m).. if hez flew spy planes over israel there would be war.
I hate hez and i also hate Israel. but if they fight i will always be rooting for the lebanese. not the racist israeli’s
20. Rima | August 24th, 2008 at 6:28 am
We are a small country no need for us to act Antar when Syria and Palestine negotiating with Isreal, Jordan and Egypt have a treaty and most Gulf region just don’t mind Israel anymore…
