  I don’t want to be over-optimistic. I rather wait until we got a President!!! Because M8 are not but liars and the agreement could be jeopardized at anytime. Syria could easily play a game and say: “we can’t pressure our allies. They don’t listen to us!”

  I wonder if Aoun had a better chance to get the seat if he was allied with M14? I wonder if M14 would’ve gave him that chance? But yet again would they give a seat to a person who is mentally sick?

  The arabs should have stepped in b4 it got to this point. Proper political management is the only way we’re going to get out of this situation.

  The main prb over the years is that no one in position has had any political management skills. And as usual , the lebanese citizen will suffer and the arab proposal will go down the drain… what a joke. Tfeh…

  It’s all good , I guess this is the way the 14th of march wanna go. Kids need older ppl to take care of them at all the time.

  I do not think it is as simple as portrayed in the post; it is very likely that there are some other conditions hidden under the table such as M14 will not get the 1/3 of the cabinet or PM Seniora will not return to his post etc…

  I am very skeptical when it comes to Syria and do not beleive that they give anythinh for free

  The garbage will be moved back to Dahyeh from downtown 5
  Saniora Served LLLLonger than his term 6

  I can go on forever with this list of “failures” of Hizbulla-Aoun as all they promised their audience , DID NOT Happen.

  The Gov stayed
  The new president is not Aoun
  Nahr el Bard’s red line was erased
  March 8 lost and they are preparing some nice speeches to tell those in Downtown how they won by not meeting any objectives the same way they LIBERATED Shebaa and samir Quntar in July 2006.

  Or how about a good cop, bad cop scenario: Syria needs to look good in anticipation of the upcoming conference in Damascus, so they accept Suleiman…leaving the bad cop acting to Hezbollah.

  Another option is of course that Syria knows more about Suleiman’s loyalties than March 14. Don’t forget he has made his career under Syrian tutelage.

  Somehow, March 14 has made a drastic change from being cautious about Suleiman to blind support. And now, everybody seems to have forgotten about their initial reserves.

  Could this have been the ploy of Syria all along? Namely, by first being against Suleiman they triggered March14 into supporting him, as per the logic of the enemy of my enemy is my friend.

  Let’s wait and see what will happen in the next few days.

  It could be any of the scenarios mentioned by ghassan K, Mikel, or Riemer Brouwer,

  and i add that Syria could as always play a nasty game by trying to claim that the 8th of March people are not followers and they have their own opinions (bullshit of course), so it agree in Egypt and give opposite directions to its allies in Beirut.

  Syria could also play the game of Michel Aoun, saying that this man is not an ally and has no relation with him (total bullshit also), while at the same time they ask him to put hurdles in front of Amr Moussa and the Arab initiative, and he already started this.

  Finally, and just to tease Ali1559 (take it with good spirit my friend), I would like to join Johnny B, Delta, Paul and Michele in agreeing with Fad14 comment.

  Syria may accept things in public and advice its small puppets (M8) to kill the solution or at least as for something very big and unbearable like what Aoun said yesterday:”The majority should not have even 50 + 1″ Meaning that not only he wants the majority to lose 2/3 but also 50% of the gov!!!!!!!!!!

  Why??? because after 3 days and 2 comments, in which i asked them to name at least one single real achievement of Aoun, no one have or could present any.
  I know very well that i can wait 3 more CENTURIES or even 3 MILLENIUMS without receiving anything in this regard

  if what your saying it’s true which i personally think it’s 200% true that mean that Syria and “M14″ have now the same objective they both want to get suleiman to the presidency as soon as possible.

  I think the right think is to cut the crap and play the political game as all countries around the world: Election in 50% + 1. There is no country in the whole world that elects it’s president “bil tawafo2″. Shu hal maskhara. If we do this, no one can interfere in our business. About the government, it’s also clear in the institution and all institutions of the whole world: the government needs 50% approval from the parliament. If it can get it is legal, if not then it have to compromise. Why no one dares and takes the right steps!? because of the threat of screwing the country!? Shu 3inna mazir3a il wa7ad 7atta yakhod 7issa bil siyaseh bi haddid bil shaghab! shu hal nizam il siyasi hayda! March 14 should not care about these threats what ever the price was.

  It is interesting to read how the ex-allies to AOUN: BCCN, and Elias ZOGHBI are openly accusing him of blocking the presidency for his OWN INTEREST (including his PRO-SYRIAN behaviour) !!!!
