No man is as patient as the Patriarch .. this man has endured so much, yet never bowed and always took the initiatives in the most critical situations .. He held our heads high during the years of Syrian hegemony and was the first to ask for their withdrawal .. He led the Anti-Syrian Opposition and defended our youth and our leaders ..

Of course he did like anyone would few mistakes, but the wise old man never compromised in the name of Christians, never changed his demands, never sided publically with any party .. he stayed as the Patriarch of all Christians and of all Lebanese.

Everyone goes to visit him whenever problems occur, everyone wants his advice but no one listens to him, yet he never stops giving them on every Sunday mass and every occasion ..

A final initiative was launched few days ago to regroup all Christians and solve this presidential dilemna once and for all.. meetings with M8 and M14 Christian Leaders are supposed to occur in the next few days … The Patriarch even invited Sleiman Frangieh, that same man who mocked him few months ago ..

Will our Leaders take 1% of Batrak’s wisdom ?? Or will they fail him again ??

I unfortunatelly think they will fail him and fail us and drag us to either chaos or electing a new president with no powers ..

God Bless our patriarch and may he live long.

Thanks for posting about this subject N,

and i agree with you 100% thinking that the initiative will fail, because some of the Christians leaders are guided even by personal interests or by the Syrian will. and later, every party will accuse the other, and as usual, the truth will be lost.
I think that the Patriarche should threaten them that he will disclose everything in case of failure, and he will define who’s to blame.

As for Arz, i don’t agree with you, and it doesn’t hurt to gather what you called little guys, because i think we need every effort, idea and opinion in this regard, and for me Frangieh is a regional leader in his Zghorta area, and i consider him a little guy too. As for Aoun, no need to say anything, but his behavior proves a lot of little things.

Arz take a hike. Frajieh should not be invited. If every little hoodloom with a Dai3a is invited the Maronites do have a problem. Aoun, Hakim and independents only should be invited. The population is polarized around the two directions these two men project. Hakim is trying to map the civilized way while “the little soldier” is driving whatever is left of the middle class out of the country.
The Batrak has to make up his mind…Syria or NOT????
