Aoun visits the South ..
Posted by N10452Another point for Aoun .. Most of the South villages are with the LF or Kataeb .. Sami paid them a visit, Hakim not once, and Amine not once …
I am not sure if its for security reasons, but lets put this aside, no help was provided to those forgotten people out there, and no one is even listening to their demands ..
If their votes barely count, we forget them ?

Geagea wanted to visit the south 2 years ago, but he was advised by the LF-South Lebanon not to do so cuz it is not safe.
Sami Gemayel almost every year pays a visit to the Christian villages on the border.
The wife of Pierre Gemayel (RIP) also visited few villages in the south.

Aoun has party organized for him in bint jbeil, hope for him he will get some zaynabiyat stripping….
3. Rima | August 22nd, 2008 at 12:52 pm
I see your point N, at least Adwan should be visiting these villages instead of hugging and giggling with that child killer Kuntar…
However, it is unfair for the next elections. While 8th March leaders like Aoun and Co yisrahou we yimrahou the others are threatened at every moment…Anyway, in such circumstances people of the South know better than anyone that HA’s antariyeit is not good for them because they will be affected more than anyone else…

Not a good idea from Aoun, because he must answer embarrassing questions, and this will makes him nervous :-)also how he wants to explain his love for HA and the weapons?he will win a few votes, but will lose many.
I hope he does not read my comment

The General of Rabiyeh will probably be accompanied by Clovis FRANCIS (a great man, who is mistakenly staying with him)…
It is a pitty that the credits of Clovis will go to a MADMAN !!!!
Paul,
You have a good point.

This is not a president, this is a sissy…
He doesn’t say anything about HA weapons, he doesn’t seem to give a shit about Christians (or the orthodox are not Christians ???!!), en d’autres termes il essaye de menager la chevre et le choux, for those of you who don’t speak french, bel 3arabe el mshabra7: baddo yordé el kell… Ya 3aybeshoum 3a hek ra2is, bala ri7a wou bala ta3mé. He does want to talk about Hezbollah’s weapons, but they’re the ones who are putting obstacles in the way of having dialogue–which I think is pointless and stupid, but it’s better than nothing.

if they want to give privileges to the vice prime minister, our muslim brothers will ask to have a vice president of a republic with privileges
13. Danny | August 22nd, 2008 at 11:42 pm
Aoun’s maneuvers are to “exploit” the orthodox Murr votes in the election. He does not give a rat’s ass about the Orthodox sects rights. Of course as Mountain correctly said, the HA will look for a Shia VP. This is nothing new. Qabalan of the Higher Shiite council had already demanded it a few months ago…
It is simple dirty politicking trying to create havoc in Lebanon so that HA can “pacify” them later.
The plan is create as much confusion as possible which has nothing to do with nation building or helping out the people earn a living…

same apply to the privileges of Berri’s vice president…why Aoun does not also claim these privileges? Anyway who cares about privileges right now while the whole country is sinking like the titanic…

I just don’t understand why politicians don’t use counterarguments like this and show the hypocrisy of aoun…are they too lazy to do that also?

It won’t matter if they do. Aoun’s remaining supporters are as stubborn as mules and nothing will change their minds.
Thye’re like Nazis; they would rather kill themselves instead of admiting that Aoun is wrong.
18. Rima | August 23rd, 2008 at 1:16 am
“Aoun’s remaining supporters ”
Mickel
Can you tell from your surrounding that people are steering away from Aoun? (I live overseas)
19. Mickel | August 23rd, 2008 at 1:23 am
I do too
But there are a lot of factors that contributed to Aoun’s loss of support:
People voted for him based on an electoral program that he later turned against.
He barely won the Matn election with all the help he got from his Syrian allies.
His blind support for Hezbollah
And whenever you talk to people who voted for him in 2005, they say that they shouldn’t have and that they regret it.
Plus when I was living in Lebanon, the most visible indication was that at first, everyone was hanging that orange rag on their car mirrors and wearing Aoun buttons etc.
But after a while those ‘decorations’ became very rare

Sorry BG but not all villagers supports the LF. Most villages in the SOuth and khasatan the christian villages supports Aoun.
By the way, the LF said a year ago if not more that they will rebuild a village in the south, did they?
Abil el visit Geagea, did they live up to their promise or it was also a lie, like the one of no more christian displaced from their villages in the Mountain.
By the way, if the LF cares about the christian in the south, how come they are not demanding the return of those in Israel? It seems Aoun is the only one asking and HA might give him another gift.
22. Rima | August 23rd, 2008 at 5:55 am
it is not about LF or Aoun it is about what is good for LEbanon……standing by Ha through Aoun and co won’t get yu anywhere…
23. Omega | August 23rd, 2008 at 8:07 am
there is a big difference between aoun’s visit to south and a visit by ur hakim.
aoun goes to the south as a leader with the majority supporting him. he goes as a patriotic leader where everyone pays attention to his visit and he visits all southern areas.
ur hakim on the other hand goes to a couple of christian towns in the south where he has a few supporters gathered around him and then he starts a khtab harbaji against hezballa and syria and everyone including aoun and berri and he starts telling them nehna bay bayya and nehna el ba7er eddemna wel3adou min warana and all that hablani khtabet … all this while no one is paying attention except a few silly ewatjiyyi around him.
24. Rima | August 23rd, 2008 at 10:06 am
Ya omega …inta rayeh ala el hajj wil alam rej3aa…aya majority are you talking about?
By the way, I never been LF but I support their politics along with all 14th March for now…no other option…
25. THERESINIA | August 23rd, 2008 at 10:53 am
