A “Smart” maneuver by Bashar el Assad
Posted by N10452I hate to say it, but it is true. Syria is getting smarter and seems to be more in control than ever before and all that because of M14 mistakes and the USA screwing up in the region.
The recent “threat” he dispatched in his speech last week forced Saad Hariri to go to Tripoli in person to calm things down and he was quoted saying: “I will do everything I can in order not the let anyone damage the Alawites’ security in Tripoli and to foil any external plot to tamper with the security of the Alawites or the security of Tripoli,” Hariri told an Iftar dinner in the port city of Tripoli.”
Syria has advised the army to move to the North to protect the Alawites and stop the hostilities and the emergence of the extremist Sunnite groups and indirectly pointed out that it might get back in since it is a threat to its security ( which is a big lie) …
So now Tripoli will calm down suddenly and all those who died will be gone in waste ..
This is one example of how much Lebanese politicians care about their supporters, and the price they are willing to let those supporters pay to achieve their goals ..
So sad.

When SYRIA’s vice president FAROUK AL CHARE3H said early this year: “thanks to its internal allies, Syria is now stronger than ever in Lebanon”: To which agents do you think he was referring to???
MERCI MON GENERAL !!!!

We are a helpless country
and we have helpless leaders.
Everybody are interfering with us, and it is obvious that we don’t have a good leader to follow. all we have even they straight but incapable or they are filthy but capable.
We shoud not folow any leader, no one deserves. Maybe we can agree with some of them, and disagree with others, but none of them is behaving as he should.
We need a new Bashir, but I think we gonna have to wait another 1000 years.

But what is wrong with what Hariri did? In his shoes what someone should do?

and I thought the Alawites of the North were Lebanese.

Rima,
The wrong thing is that he waited for a Syrian alert to stop the violence in Tripoli
I never accuse Hariri of backing salafist groups but he disregards them and thats a bigger crime ..

N,
I disagree with your premise and conclusion. Why on earth are we connecting these two; Assad’s BS and Hariri’s “trip”? Why are you critical of Hariri in THIS instance? and March 14??…
For God’s sakes had he not gone you would have criticized more! Does it ever cross your mind that this was a planned trip??Do you think you’re driving from New Jersey to Philly?? It takes a lot of security preparations in our cursed country. I think this trip was planned a long time now to be especially during Ramadan. It has to do with upcoming elections and shoring up his Sunnite base.
Finally Bashar has not had any smart maneuvers yet!!If killing his friends and foes alike is smart..well you go man!

I didn’t get the logic behind this post?! Was Hariri supposed to go to Tripoli with truck loads of weapons? What does the vast majority of Lebanese citizens in the North want? Civil war?
The best response to Bashar is unity among Lebanese.

I hope we see more trips of the rest of March 14 before year end. Its time to see more of M14 on the ground.

Bashar El Assad is following his father’s steps, using diplomacy as a weapon..We thought that he was an idiot but hes not,he is even smater than his father..Syria’s influence is getting stronger every day, and its all because of 14march’s mistakes..
Joumblat thanking Samir el kuntar, trying to get new alliances with HA,screwing up 14march..Amine Gemayel’s plans to visit syria(We all know what he is capable of),the election of Sleiman the muqawama’s ally,Hariri disregarding the salafists..Jean qahwaji new officer..also a friend of HA and Aoun..
Bahia supporting the Salafists..14 March are losing ground..We are losing ground..
That is just Pathetic. Allah yer7am el chouhada,Allah yer7am Bachir.

Rami
‘we thought that he was an idiot but he is not’
our problem as Lebanese, is that we think that we are smart and every body else is dumb…if we look really close we will find out that the reality is exactly the opposite…i wonder when we will realize that

Well I don’ t see anything wrong in Tripoli. I live there. The only thing we need is more weapons and massive amounts of them. Why? because it was clear that there is no such thing as:”the army will protect the citizens” it’s rather you should protect your self. People should wake up from the illusion that there is an army that can protect them and get back to real life. We all saw what happened to those who depended on the army and we will be fools if we do the same.
