A decisive week in Lebanon’s history
Posted by N10452This week is definitly the most important one in the past 15 years if not more … This week will decide whether the Cedars Revolution last demand for a new president will prevail or Syria will invest all its power through its allies ( led by Hezbollah) to cause another civil war to erupt …
We are in a very critical situation, its either a new president or chaos, and we all know where chaos led us last time ..
Electing a president is in the hands of Berri & Hariri now, after Bkerke gave its list.
I will be happy to have an average president, one loyal to the Cedars Revolution achievements, one that will avoid us a chaotic situation, even if he turns out not to be that strong … We Christians are not strong and this transition period is essential to regain our role properly.
Let us hope for the best.

we have to thanks the A** of Aoun. He destroyed us in the past and now he is giving us another lesson!
I wonder waynou w wayn el massihiye taba3ou…So sad situation and irresponsible leader.
In all democratic countries who win govern. In Lebanon who win get killed.

1/2 +1 is the only solution in my opinion, since nothing is looking good so far and if the opposition dont accept our new elected president and wants a civil war, then let it beeeeeeeee, we’re gonna crush them…

To those still defending Sfeir in this mess:
Naharnet today:
“Maronite Patriarch Nasrallah Sfeir said Monday it was up to the leaders to add or wipe out a name from the list of presidential candidates he had submitted.”
The list was useless and pointless from day-one if it was going to be non BINDING.

N10452,
I always made sure it see your name before reading your post, sicne you seem to be the sane aspect of this blog.
Funny enough, I expect an odd week. 3 more days to make a public demonstartion in burning all newspapers in Beyrouth Centre-ville.
7. Hanoun | November 19th, 2007 at 5:47 pm
JoseyWales now we are blaming Sfeir for this? Aoun rejected and attacked the list before it was submitted becuase he is not the only name on it…
Aounist always attack Sfeir when he doesnt agree with them, they did in 89 and again in 07. and they call themselves MAROUNITES…please

Hanoun,
I am LFerer and I am still wondering out why Patriarc doesn’t discomunicate Aoun if he is doing this to our Lebanon and the christians in general, if he doesn’t agree?
9. Shunkleash | November 19th, 2007 at 7:11 pm
Hanoun,
If you know Josey Wales you will know he is not an Aounist…IBE!
By the way I too blame Sfeir for the problem we are in. When the time was ready to remove lahoud 2 years ago it was sfeir who interrupted the move and stopped the change. Do you forget? He said we must respect the chair even though the person in it is not respected. He is an old foolish man who should not get involved with politics. No religion should be in politics and he should have kept his mouth shut.
Now he has allowed himself to be used like a tool and undermined his position by giving a list when everyone knew that Syria and M8 was not going to accept it.
On top of that Sfeir wants us to beleive that the constitution says we must have a 2/3 quorum to elect a president. So he gives ammunition to the M8, Berri and the Syrians. Together with NapolAoun the two of them have kharbatou kilshe
YALLA SIT BOUZEK SFIER!!!
Ayesh lubnan

Shunkleash,
Even if you don’t agree with what the batrak did, show a little respect; he’s a religious man in the end and what you said was totally uncalled-for and disrespectfull.
