I was just a child at that time…I cried like never before…I saw a dark cloud over Lebanon..It was a national mourning day(except for kawmieh and communists and other scumbags)..I remember my parents, teh neighbours and the whole city crying for the death of Lebanon’s soul…My mom told me “cry for your future that has been assassinated…” She was right…Since then I lived in total denial and disinterest in Lebanese politics until Hariri’s assassination…Sine then I saw the real spirit of Lebanon arising from death and humility…the cedar revolution and the syrian withdrawal of lebanon…

Don’t dare you hypocrits Aounis claim your respect for Bachir while you are assassinating him everyday by your alliance with the enemies of Lebanon not to forget the shahata of Nasrallah 3la ekheir hal zaman

So am i, i was only 14yrs old and i cried and cried and still do, i still listen to his speeches and get goose bumps and teary eyes and ask why. I remember seeing him with his family one summer day in Tabarja beach having lunch just outside his condo. Yes Lebanon died with him that day. God bless his soul, forever we love you, FOREVER in our hearts and minds.

I was in class wz Pierre Gemayel (RIP) and for our “1ere communion” we were sitting next to each other. When the parents (mine n his) came to cogratulate us, Bashir (z only 1 among Pierre’s family), held me wz his 2 hands n gave me a kiss. I asked Pierre if this was his father (really at that time i kew nothing abt politics) n Pierre told me that was his uncle Bashir.

When I heard abt his death, i was wz my parents in France n I remember I cried a lot…

Till today, I rarely think abt him as a politician or a leader, but I always remember him as this loving person wz a warm smile who was sooo happy for all the kids on that special day.

    May he rest in peace…

  • 8. Arze | August 25th, 2008 at 11:24 am

Rima ! I should remind you that most christians who fought with Bachir ,now spit on people thinking like you and Geagae ! All partisans of Aoun in the present that i personally know were amond the 1st who fought with cheikh bachir….

so spare me that ! Bachir Gemayel was THE leader of Lebanon and specially the Christians ….ALL the christians . He was a symbol to the christian freedom in the middle east !

  • 9. Rima | August 25th, 2008 at 12:20 pm

Arze can you tell me why they should spit on me. Because i don’t want like you to hide behind Nasrallah’s abayya…
Tell me do they spit on Solange Gemayel also?

SAHIH SHAAB BALA ASSEL WE GHASHIM KAMAN….

  • 10. Rima | August 25th, 2008 at 12:22 pm

by the way arze these people who fought with Bashir and allying themselves with Aoun…are shaab bala assel we bala mokh…

  • 11. Ado | August 25th, 2008 at 12:35 pm

    Alla yer7amo w yer7am Lebanon….
I was a kid back then from Tripoli, where it was a taboo to mention his name, only my family thought me to love him,and i saw in him the image of the lebanon i want,a sunni kid from tripoli,he wasn t just a christian leader,he was a lebanese leader, and for the ones who used to say he was fanatic, they can just shut their mouth, coz the muslisms back then supported the palestinians against their fellow lebanese, and i the kid muslim was against them, and i was with Sheikh Bashir god bless his soul,
    And Rima,
You can say the same about your Hakim’s allies,i dunno why forgot them,Jumblat, and all the sunnis in tripoli where chearing his death…i wasn t allowed to cry in public in tripoli, coz they might do harm to my family…..So the ones that cheered the most where your doctors allies, and may i remind you Elias Attalah, and his adoration to the paletinians and his hate to Sheikh Bshir……

  • 12. Jim | August 25th, 2008 at 12:40 pm

arze r u serious??????? do u think ppl with bashir r goin 2 vote for aounallah when he allies him self with the ssnp?? in koura the list is already prepared the Orangists r allyin themselves with salim saadeh.. tfou 3laiykoun sa7i7 u call urselves christans

  • 13. paul | August 25th, 2008 at 1:05 pm

everyone who loves Bachir should try to be there.

  • 14. Rima | August 25th, 2008 at 1:10 pm

    Ado
These allies paid the price of cheering for the death of Lebanon…As Jesus said forgive them my Lord coz they don’t know what they are doing.
Because ma bi soh illa el sahih…these syrian allies woke up one day after decades of humiliation and iniquity and joined the sovereignty movement after Aoun left it…so Ironic…However we can say al roujou3 an el khata3 fadilla…

I respect your feelings…I felt the same pain when Hariri was assassinated because I knew he got killed because he put Lebanon First…beleive me al shaab mich taeefi bass some zoouaama are..so they keep controlling us like Ghanam…

    Cheers

Rima, did u notice that Arze, Stallion n Omega are the same IDIOT??!!! Or are all the Aounis programmed to have the same level of idiocy??!!

Anyway don’t mind him! I for a fact know that Aoun has a huge inferiority complex towards Bachir n I’m sure that Theresina can confirm it.

  • 16. Rima | August 25th, 2008 at 1:41 pm

    Hi Michele

Lol…I noticed that. Especially when Omega said that Aoun by allying himself to Nasrallah he saved Lebanon…ya ayni ala heik political stategy…Iza Heik we kenet Israel khalaset ala el balad min shimalou la jnoubou

    Good night

This is one of the very few things I miss about Lebanon, used to drive from AUB to Ashrafieh where we would sit at the bombing shrine and promise to keep the dream, with Bashir’s image standing tall, telling us not to give up. Seems like this was in a previous life now, as we all left the country and moved on. Lebanon died with Bachir, and with all of Lebanon’s finest leaving the country it will be very hard to revive the dream, we can only remember and think of what could have been. God bless everyone that participates in keeping Bachir’s memory alive regardless of their political affiliation, because they are also keeping the hope in Lebanon and a better future alive.

  • 18. THERESINIA | August 25th, 2008 at 2:26 pm

My father who was among the few who participated in the creation of the L.F. after the fall of Tall Zaatar. The Christians were fighting to defend themselves against the palestinians who wanted to take over Lebanon instead of their own country. As Bachir Said: “we were attacked as Christians, we defended ourselves as LEBANESE”.

After the assassination pof BASHIR, my father did not want to continue with Amine. In 1985 my father became very close to AOUN and a FERVENT supporter. My father always reported that BASHIR was an extraordinary and exceptional leader. A GREAT MAN. One day while he was talking to AOUN, my father said:”Bashir was extraordinary”, and AOUN responded: “MA TCHID 2IDAK KTIIR”. My father did not understand why Aoun said that and he was very disappointed. Now we can understand: THERE IS NO ONE EXTRAORDINARY but AOUN…. there CANNOT be anyone extraordinary but AOUN!!!!

When I read what BASHIR did and said, I fully realize how an EXTRAORDINARY LEADER he was. UNIQUE and EXCEPTIONAL, like those GIANTS who are created once every century.

BASHIR is a SYMBOL like Ghandi, Churchill, De Gaulle, and Martin Luther King.

Arze I was going to delete your comment, but I thought I’d leave it so the readers can see what a low-life you are for saying that to THERESINIA and what an ignorant moron you are for your ‘US conspiracy theory’. :D

  • 25. Rima | August 28th, 2008 at 3:01 am

    ARZE
“dont be so Naive ….Hariri died because he turned his back on the Americans , and the Americans used hariri to start planning for a Sunni shiaa war ! Hariri doesnt give a damn about lebanon or the lebanese”

    Is that another conspiracy theory?

Can you tell me why Syria and its allies were and are still shitting their pants whenever they hear about the International Tribunal?

So if America Killed Hariri who killed all 14th March christians? Ah yeah you will say Geagea…who is naive here for god’s sake? shou mfakartina ‘ghanam walla Bachar’

  • 26. THERESINIA | August 29th, 2008 at 11:42 am

    Dear Arze,

Instead of criticizing me and my family who are great patriots and NOT agents to outside countries (Syria, Israel, France, Iran or ZIMBABWE…), why don’t you try to answer the following:

Every time someone criticizes the General of Rabiyeh, his lovers respond by attacking the L.F. and Geagea and the 14th of March, and Nassib Lahoud, and Jombi, and the Wahhabis, etc…
Have you observed that they are never able to DEFEND AOUN HIMSELF ????
