Gather ’round children, Jiddo Michel has a story to tell you.

In his press conference today, Aoun told a riveting story that I will sum up like this:

A guy says to another that he is willing to sell his rifle for $250, the guy gives him a thousand dollars instead.  When he gets the rifle, he points it at the guy and says give me back my thousand dollars.

Aoun told the Lebanese citizens that their vote is their rifle, and they shouldn’t sell it for one thousand dollars.

Of course he was talking about Hariri paying for expats’ tickets so they could come vote.  Now, it seems that Aounis have this common misconception that those people wouldn’t vote for M14  if Hariri doesn’t pay them.  Those people are already supporters of the Cedar Revolution, and there is nothing wrong with them getting a free ticket to practice their rights.  After all, it was Aoun’s ally Salloukh who said that the Foreign Ministry wasn’t able to let people vote abroad.

Now to the irony in this facinating story:

He talked about the guy with the gun making the other guy give him his money back.  Hmmm, now which one of Aoun’s allies has a ‘rifle’?  Is it Amal? Hezbollah? SSNP? Or is it Frangiyeh?  Oh wait, it’s all of them!

How can you tell a story about a man using weapons to force someone else to do something when all of your allies are armed to the teeth?

Isn’t Hezbollah using its weapons to guarantee its victory in the election in the South and Beqaa, isn’t it using its weapons to force its will on the country?

So once again, my dear General, look in your own yard before criticizing others.

When HA gives monthly allowances to its followers, build them free schools (of course where they get brain washed), and distribute money in the street it’s not buying people. When someone provides a ticket to vote, it’s buying people.

Moreover as I recall in the U.S. providing transportation for voters by candidates is considered acceptable, though it’s with buses (they don’t need planes when there is a close voting place) but the concept is the same.

Can’t wait to hear your excuses after the elections… Oh boy!

I believe you people don’t have a problem with HA or HA arms. Your only problem is with FPM and Michel aoun. Whichever side aoun will be on, you’ll be against him.
How come you didn’t have such ‘’his rifle for $250’’ problem in 2005 when you allied with them (HA)?
Why did you ally with Hezbollah terrorist group who wants to implement the Iranian wilayt el fakih in Lebanon ;) ya allah hal HA chu irhebiye …

Why did you approve bayanat wizzariya which legalized ha’s weapon???

Enough ya mickel… The table will turn around again and you’ll find yourself isolated.. mish hek sar after the taef agrement ?

    Take care …

HEY GUYS, can someone tell me how can I get a free ticket?!?!?!? I will vote…. :)

Doc your question is not logical man, in 2005 the M14 wanted to compromise with Hezbollah and solve the weapon issue little by little so they don’t feel we are enemies with them, we agree with them that we need to liberate Shebaa farms and we need to get back the prisoners. In 2006 when they ignore the dialogue and kidnap the Israelies soldiers it become clear they can’t break free from the Iranian masters, do you see anyone from M14 allying with them now?

Khayye assume M14 made a mistake or were hypocrits in 2005, is it a reason to keep saying I told you so I told you so all the time, people learn and evolve and move on in life we can not stay stuck in the past. Tell me what you are doing today and what your plan for the future so I can tell you what I think of you, if Hariri talk moderately and Lubnan Awwalan I tell him Ahlan Wa Sahlan, if SSNP continue to beat journalists and kill civilians I tell them f*ck off.

It’s simple, please Jeddo Micho no more rifles, not for $250 and not for $1000 you old stupid fool.

    Kezballah

    Welcome back ..

I dislike old arguments.. khaye, lets say you’re 100% right,ok ? Then why did you give HA a new bayan wizari? why did you only THAFAZET on it ?! HA became terrori** after the MOU , ma hek??

We’re not stuck in the past ya kezballah, and if you think JIDO MICHO is not popular and has lost christian support, then khaye, why are you not running a full LIST allllllllll over Lebanon? Where is the LF MP in mount Leb? Beirut ? North Leb? South leb?
Khaye, if General doesnt represent the majority of the lebanese .. then why M14 are trying to bribe people day and night to vote against him?

    Take care..

Thanks Doc it is nice to be able to write on the blog again.

I think we all know well our situation now, we are stuck with a party that is stronger than the state, we don’t want to destroy the country to disarm them, and we can’t build a country with them like this. The only solution is to keep pressing, Aoun is not pressing he is taking off the pressure with the MOU.

Personaly I don’t know how much jido Micho lost support or not, but the next election is coming even with HA armed we will go into it in the areas where it is a fair contest (not in the South where HA control everything with their money and arms), if people in Metn and Kisirwan and the North etc…… vote for the M8 list then I know that I am a minority in this country and I will start preparing for my kids future outside, I don’t want to live in a resistance society. It is simple for me.

About the bribes I will not take any bribe and many like me, but some Lebanese are ignorant or need money so they will take it, it is from both sides not only from FM, it is indirect in some place (Iran money to build schools and hospitals and houses etc,…) and direct in some place (Fattouch pay at the last day to win in Zahle). Jido Micho only sees one side I see both.

I hope you are doing good.
