We welcome the challenge

Once again those who love Lebanon as a democratic, independent and open nation are in the gun sights of Syria. As Hariri and Jumblatt follow the likes of Aoun and Hizballah to kiss the robes of the Syrian Dictator, the Lebanese Forces members and myriad other like-minded Lebanese are left to bear the aspirations of our martyrs.

This is not an unfamiliar place. We have been here since as long as we can recall. The line we follow is unwavering; We accept nothing less than an independent and free voice in this middle east. We look for tolerance and religious expression. We seek free markets and financial prosperity. We relish connections with all nations and all cultures. We want a stable powerful country that allows for all its citizens ideals.

Those who seek to silence us are many and worse among them are those who claim to be Lebanese.

I wonder what kind of a person accepts to visit Syria when so many Lebanese are unaccounted for in Syrian jails and graves?

I wonder what kind of a person accepts to have a militia doing the bidding of a foreign country within his own nation’s borders?

I wonder what kind of person accepts foreign funds to fuel hatred within his country?

I wonder what kind of person accepts to be a second class citizen in his own country?

I will not bother one moment with the so called Leaders who most Lebanese follow blindly. I ask the citizen directly; what lies in your heart? Where is your dignity? Where is your self respect?

When will you begin to make decisions based on your country’s best interests?

Those of us who understand the words that I write know that Lebanon will never be free from these traitors until the citizen learns to think for himself; learns to see his Nation as precious, as fragile, as a treasure.

Until that time, we remain as guardians of this hope and this vision. We remain dignified under attack and resolute under fire. We will not bend and we will not back down. We will have a Free Lebanon for the Lebanese or we will die trying.

    Did we forget that Michel Sleiman brother in law “Gebran Kuriyyeh” was the official spokesman of Hafez el Assad?

    These Arguments have been collected from multiple sources:

    1. General Sleiman was appointed by the Syrians as commander of the Lebanese Army in 1998.

    2. General Suleiman was the head of the army when many Lebanese were subjected to torture at the hands of the Army and the military intelligence.

    3. General Sleiman was the head of the army when many Lebanese were arrested and brutalized based on orders from Syria on August 7, 2001

    4. During the 2006 war with Israel, Suleiman ordered the Lebanese army to cooperate with Hezbollah and allowed Hezbollah to use the army’s facilities, including a coastal radar station used to aim and fire the missiles which hit and damaged an Israeli ship on July 15.

    5. Since the July 06 war, General Suleiman has been covering for Hezbollah during their rearmament in direct violation of UN Security Council Resolution 1701, and has refused to use the Lebanese Army to cooperate with UNIFIL to patrol the borders or stop Hezbollah from moving back into its old positions in south Lebanon.

    6. In his speech to army graduates on August 14, 2007, General Sleiman exonerated Syrian intelligence from arming Fatah al-Islam despite the confessions of the captured Fatah al Islam terrorists about their links to Syria.

    7. His brother in law, Gebran Kuriyyeh was the official spokesman of Hafez Assad, father of the current Syrian president Basher Assad.

    Answer : You tend to live in the past , why is it so hard for you to accept syria ? As an adult with free will to think, you need to choose healthy, positive and constructive views, especially when it comes to Syria, 2iu maybe one day you’ll free your fighters form the mazeh jail !! I hope you do ..

    Answer : No one should accept that, the first ingredient necessary to understand what the so called militia wants is to dialogue with them, the second ingredient neccesary for constructive dialogue is the appreciation of the other side But NOOO you are doing what you do best: HATE HATE HATE !! Lebanon is not a federal state amigo, Lebanon is one body, and when one group is afflicted with pain and threats by a racist enemy that only believes in war,the rest of the body (Leb ppl) cannot rest in peace.

    I wonder what kind of person accepts foreign funds to fuel hatred within his country

    Answer : They are called our regional allies and not foreign countries. For example: in 2007, the Bush administration announced that they will boost and increase US militray assistance to Israel by $7 billion over the next few years( remeber we share the same border with Israel), Israel and US are allies. Lebanon and Iran are allies ;)

    You guys are second class politicians and not citizens. Your unforgivable ouwet political mistakes has shaped you , you are who you are today bcuz of it and not bcuz of us. Don’t blame us for your mistakes !!

    Lastly, get over you past and look into the future, God if you believe in him, has turned a murderer by the name of Moses into a prophet. GOD will help you to have a new start but you gotta help yourself first..
