So far the Syrian regime has been targeting their opponents within the March 14 coalition. Since none of its plans to restore its hegemony have so far succeeded, their next step might be to target some of its own lackeys in Lebanon.
The latest US entry ban that was imposed on a list of Syrian criminals and their Lebanese pawns might be one of the main ingredients.
Then you have Nasser Qandil’s statement that might cost him and his allies dearly:
Former pro-Damascus MP Nasser Qandil was also barred from entering the U.S.
Qandil said in a statement carried by the National News Agency that the ban was a “precious gift,” adding he will hold the Bush administration responsible for any harm inflicted on him or any member of his family.(AFP-Naharnet)
Beirut, 30 Jun 07, 11:16
In order to make up with the frustration they’ve been up to due to their foiling plans, the Syrians will probably use this as an option to increase internal hostility.
By killing one of theirs, they will then start to accuse both March 14 and the Americans of conspiring against the Arab world and the Resistance.

Eiffel,
I don’t think they will do something like that, since they need every pro-syrian to stay alive, especially someone like Qandil, with his offensive language and speeches. But in return they have We’am wahhab noe, another Syrian Dog and who is well ready to speak and say anything tehy want. also, if they are thinking of killing someone of their own, in order to create the chaos, i see Berri and Nasrallah as the top 2 persons on that list.

I agree Rodge.
Berri, Nasrallah or a high ranking HA official (someone who did what he was supposed to do and is not needed anymore or he knows too much) are the possibilities. Another scenario is an “attempted” assassination.
But their highest priority is someone from March 14!!!

No problem. If a pro-Damascus member is killed, its assassination will be investigated by the UN court, which has been deeply criticized by Syria and its supporters, that was set up some weeks ago.
Greetings from Spain.

Guys,
Of course they won’t hit Bassil, because “3endo 7assanit el General”, Micho bidi3 baleh.
For Cromwell, just to translate what i said in Arabic, Gebran Bassil which is a high official in the FPM of Aoun and at the same time his son in law has the immunity of the General himself who will be lost without him.
Also, who’s gonna dissiminate hatress against LF if bassilo died??? walaw ya chabeb, illa gigo li zghir, gigo li kbir byiz3al

Syria won’t kill Qandil because ma fee kalb bi3odd khayo.
The Syrian regime would not kill Qandil because a dog doesn’t bite its brother.

Eiffel
It’s widely known that there is two main fronts in LEBANON, one pro Syrian and one pro American, trying to score against each other using Lebanese blood., So in believing in this conspiracy theory, the Americans will be behind the killing of the March 14 guys starting with Harriri…. to Eido to accuse the Syrians and the 8 March.
