Is it in our interest to keep the problems of the LF for ourselves or is it better to display the dirty laundry of the LF?

Many of us have kept quiet over the past few years about the disturbing and lingering issues faced by the LF, as a whole, and its members, in particular.

Previous to the long awaited release of its commander-in-chief, Dr. Samir Geagea, almost everyone in the LF considered that Geagea’s freedom would be a salvation to let alone the LF party.

The biggest disappointment to those who were already deceived was that the status quo of the LF after Geagea’s release has virtually remained the same.

Among the deceived, three categories were drawn. The first was that of early droppers. They quickly lost hope and faith and decided to give up and leave the LF.

The second category includes those who kept on hoping for a change but as time flew by, so did their patience. After being in denial for quite some time, they realized – according to their own perception – that nothing was changing nor going to change. And in their turn, they turned their back on the LF.

The last group represents the optimists among the deceived. Although they have been constantly hoping for a change, some of them see it coming but others are on the brink of disengagement.

It is important to note that most of them are not questioning the political choices and strategies undertaken by Dr. Geagea. However they are expecting from him to restate the LF’s vision and mission.

The reasons behind their deception are related to internal issues rather than external ones.

Listing these issues would be taking out the dirty laundry of the LF. But before proceeding with such an action, the pros and cons of doing so must definitely be reviewed.

Must I add to the above-mentioned list, those who never really considered themselves as FL sympathizers but due to their background and origin, somehow identified with them?
Although not particularly attracted or admiring Dr. Samir Geagea, his liberation would mean that things were about to change. The FL as a political party would reemerge as a group that was about to resurrected their buried thoughts and be at the forefront of their political war. What deception it was for them to realize that things didn’t change, disengagement was looming once again…

I think that after the recent Portemilio fiasco, anyone who’s keeping faith or as Eiffel called as Optimist, would be officially certified as Stupid or let’s just say mentally chalenged to believe that a change would come anytime soon or if it will ever come.
