Scratching out the “Resistance clause”

Thursday, March 11th, 2010

Eh walla sa7 el nom !

I don’t know when this masquerade M14 leaders are playing at the national dialogue will end, but i hope soon enough because it is a complete waste of time.

M14 WON the elections, and voluntarily LEGALIZED Hezbollah weapons in the Ministerial statement. Now it’s a controversial point ?

And who’s the one who first asked for it ? Crying Baby Sanioura ! that sissy who didn’t have the guts to come out and defend his own people when Hezbollah was invading Beirut.

On another note, I want to ask Pr.Sleiman why was Sanioura invited in the first place ??

As my good friend nora would say, MASKHARA !

Irrational Behavior …

Thursday, March 4th, 2010

I’ve been repeating this for years now and it still irritates me when i talk about it.

Why doesn’t Samir Geagea open all cases related to the LF and clear his name and the party’s name once and for all ? Why doesn’t he use the ministry of justice that is in his hands to put an end to those false and shameful trials the LF was submmited to during the Syrian hegemony ?

There is nothing more frustrating than hearing a criminal and filthy individual like Jamil el Sayyid attacking Samir Geagea and the LF while each of us know his direct implication in the Saydit el Najet Church bombing.
Added to that, every now and then, we hear Omar Karameh accuse Geagea of being a criminal and killing his brother.

The LF should not answer those low-lifes by issuing press releases but in court.

We are talking about post-1990 assassinations that the LF had nothing to do with. If today is not the time to open those cases and clear the party’s image, when is it then ? what is Hakim waiting for ?

Mich chatreen 2ella lawsuits against Kandil and Wahhab on some pointless statements. What they, the LF, are missing though, is that no one would dare say a word about the LF if the cases are officially re-open and taken to justice.

What’s left of M8 ?

Thursday, March 4th, 2010

You keep hearing M8 politicians labeling M14 forces as divided and weak and no longer representative of the Majority.

Yet they won the elections and looking at the current situation, it seems it is the Pro-Syrian team that is getting shattered all over the place.

- Berri & Aoun are in constant dispute.
- Omar Karami retired from M8.
- Sleiman Frangieh is reconciling with M14 Christians.
- Tashnag voted yesterday in favor of Hariri plans while FPM vetoed.
- Aounists have internal undeclared conflicts that will only grow deeper as Aoun gets older.

This probably justifies why they want Syria back asap, it is the only way they can stay united, that is under the Syrian boot :-)

Nabil N2oula sues Imad Moussa

Tuesday, March 2nd, 2010

I would understand N2oula suing Imad Moussa for reasons such as disrespect and mockery, which he did, but suing him as well for “inciting to killing” is a complete joke !

For those who missed Imad Moussa’s article, as you can see below, Moussa was destroying Orangist Islamic Crusader N2oula and mocking him all over the place, and claiming Mossad should feel threatened by him and add him to their hit list.
Who can ignore Nabil N2oula after his B.S speech @ the Hekmeh school praising Hezbollah martyrs and dishonoring the Christ ?

Who wouldn’t want his head after he proclaimed himself the biggest Lebanese political clown out there ?

I can only imagine Moussa’s next masterpiece on this lawsuit lol !

A few questions from the heart…

Tuesday, March 2nd, 2010

Over the last five years I have seen so many things that prompt me to want to write what will follow…so here goes:

Day and night we hear accusations by Oranges about how the LF committed horrible crimes and how the LF shelled them and how the LF kidnapped them etc etc etc.

Now, I don’t know how it escaped them but during the same war, Syria did the same thing.

SSNP did the same thing.
Baath did the same thing.
Amal did the same thing.

It is funny that most of the crimes attributed to the current LF were in fact committed by Hobeika with a direct influence from Syria and some of the parties in M8 today.

Needless to mention the ties that linked aoun and Hobeika throughout the later part of the 80s.

It is also funnier when one considers that what the LF was accused for back in 1989 is today being perpetrated by HA and other members of M8: weapons outside the control of the army, drug dealing etc etc etc…

National Dialogue: What for?

Monday, March 1st, 2010

President Suleiman announced yesterday the participants of the new round of national dialogue, but i keep asking myself why do they keep bothering with time-consuming and pointless dialogues ??

- First of all, in order to make a successfull dialogue, you need a strong moderator and a few selected number of participants, not all the warlords feudal lords out there, no moderators and one intellectual.

- Second, a dialogue needs more professors and intellectuals rather than politicians. I only see one professor, Fayez al-Hajj Chahine and he was chosen as a representative from Zahle instead of its Mps which stirred strong and well-placed criticism. Why make Zahle an exception and not other regions ?

- Third, What will be discussed during this dialogue ? Shouldn’t one announce the program of such dialogue before naming its participants ?

The last national dialogue session was held on June 1 ahead of the parliamentary elections.

- Fourth, Were the results of the last national dialogue posted ? Did we achieve any progress ? Who is providing the feedback for such things ? the presidency media ?

I salute Pr.Sleiman’s initiative, but people will just laugh at him if he doesn’t show them they are getting somewhere with this national dialogue, not just passing time and increasing expenses. Talking about cost, just imagine the security measures and personnel needed each time Samir Geagea, Michel Aoun, Sleiman Frangieh, Nabih Berri, Saad Hariri and Elias el Murr need to make the move.

Lebanese Forces Communique…

Saturday, February 27th, 2010

Sois Belle et vote ..
J’ai 18 ans .. je peux voter?

First of all it is “j’ai” and not “j’ais”.
If you are 18 and you are already bad in grammar, you expect people to give you more responsibility and let you vote ?

Second, what does being beautiful has to do with being 18 ? Or is this girl taking it for granted that she’s beautiful ?
Well she’s not ! In fact she’s hideous !

Last, thank god this bill did not pass because i am sure there are thousands like this girl who have no clue what they are talking about or asking for.

PS: I am not sure but i have a strong feeling those were sent by Berri to protest against M14 & Aoun for opposing the bill. The French quote and slogan definitly “laissent a desirer” lol !

Voting Age Bill Will Not Pass

Monday, February 22nd, 2010

I must say i am very glad this bill did not pass, eventhough for the wrong reasons.

The LF, FPM, FM & Kataeb are opposed to this bill and want a whole package including “giving Lebanese expatriates the right to vote and allowing Lebanese citizenship by descent.”

Funnily enough, Berri is claiming those who are not in favor of lowering the age will be held responsible for increasing sectarian tensions ?? How is that so or is he just upset he fell for his own trap ?

Qassem: We’re the Majority

Saturday, February 20th, 2010

I would love to see how those who commented on my analysis of Nasrallah’s speech comment on that.

“We won’t be shaken by the objections of some sides on the resistance because we represent a substantive majority among the Lebanese people,” Qassem stressed at a Hizbullah educational conference.

Majority based on what ? Isn’t the Constitution clear enough on this manner ? As far as i know, Hezbollah LOST and acknowledged their loss in the 2009 elections.

“If some want to discuss the defensive strategy through media outlets, we tell them that we will hear their screaming without answering them.”

Of course by some of them, he means many who were elected by the people and are in the parliament now. A militia not wishing to answer its state representatives. Lovely !

On the other hand, Qassem said that “European passport holders may represent a threat to Lebanon, which requires special measures to protect the Lebanese people.”

What measures and who will implement them ? Are we going to witness more kidnappings then ?

Jumblatt Playing us …

Friday, February 19th, 2010

Till when will Christians allow themselves to be played and tricked by Jumblatt ??
When will our leaders understand this man wants everything but strong Christians in Lebanon ?

Let us trace back some events and see how Jumblatt coped with them:

From 1994 till 2004: Loyal to the Syrians and happily persecuting the Christian leaderships and their supporters.

Cedars Revolution 2005: He turns against Syria, allies with March14 forces but makes sure its Christians are kept weak by hammering Aoun (causing an Anti-Jumblatt Pro-Aoun phenomenem since Geagea was still in prison)

2009 elections: he loses his Christian seats to the M14 Christians and decides to reposition himself outside M14 but keeps Hariri close.

Next thing you know he is hammering Geagea & Gemayel and praising Aoun. Nowadays, he wishes to resolve the Mountain issue with Aoun and let him score points against M14 Christians.

That way, Christians are kept divided, the displaced are kept displaced as Jumblatt will never let Christians come back. Geagea & Aoun, despite all their differences, should be smart enough to recognize those “cons” Jumblatt is performing and know how to beat him at his own game, unless of course they don’t give a damn about the displaced in the Mountain.

Hezbollah in Jdeideh … why the suprise and the reaction?

Thursday, February 18th, 2010

From all of those who were surprised and upset from seeing Hezbollah celebrating Imad Mughniyeh and others of their martyrs in jdeideh, the Lebanese Forces and its followers should be the least suprised.
You may say what is wrong with this Mano? It happens that Mano and few others have a very good memory and they do not forget. So this few should be the only one opposing, upset, surprised (well in reality with such people there is no more room for surprises) of Hezbollah even in Jdeideh (note for those (frafir el LF these days) who do not know Jdeideh, jedeideh been a stronghold for the SSNP).
What is worst, having a Hezbollah event in Jedeideh or having Samir Geagea sending Geoges Adwan (his MP) to welcome the criminal quntar and hugging him?
What is worst, having this event in Jdeideh or accepting HA weapons, making it legal and be part of a government that protects the “resistance”?
Again, only few should raise their concern, the rest who attacked those who criticize Geagea decisions (quntar, be part of government that supports HA weapons) should simply pack up and go play in another park.

Analyzing Nasrallah’s Speech …

Thursday, February 18th, 2010

Since we were apparently unprofessional in handling Hassan Nasrallah’s speech, according to some blog readers, i will gladly go through the whole speech paragraph per paragraph.

To be credible, here is the source of my speech (PartI,PartII) , a neutral source so that no one says the source is unreliable.

I will skip the introduction that is filled with Koranic verses and reflects Hezbollah’s Islamic ideology, plus the condoleances to the Ethiopian plane crash victims.

He wishes to discuss how to handle issues related to Hezbollah and his cause in Lebanon. No mention of coordination with the state or Lebanese parties on those issues.
Fet7een 3a 7seboun
Let us not overgeneralize though and read the rest of the speech.

Is this what we are teaching the new generation of LF?

Wednesday, February 17th, 2010

If we go back in time to the mid 70’s to early 90’s, as LF, we used to preach, work, had many projects and ideas to turn Lebanon to a state where Christians from the region can look at as a beacon of light, hope and bright future. We used t work on projects hoping that one day we will bring those Christians to Lebanon and provide them with security and peace.
I still remember Charles Malek, Fouad Frem Boustany , ….among others. I still remember the Lebanese Front …. The LF with Bachir and Samir (the old one and not the one he burried in the ministry of defece).
I was emailed this picture by an old time rafi’ and we both were shocked, surprised, sick, …. you name it.
Is this is the new “I3dad Fikri” in the LF? What a shame and what an end to great project.

Hezbollah provoking Christians .. once again !

Monday, February 15th, 2010

When i first heard about Hezbollah holding a ceremony to commemorate the death of terrorist Imad Moghnieh in Sagesse School Jdeideh, i thought it was a joke. Turns out Hezbollah deceived the Sagesse administration by claiming they were organizing a seminar about Christian-Islamic coexistence, like in every year, as stated by Head of Jdeideh Municipality Antoine Jbara. [Source]

This is not only against the school’s policies but a filthy attempt to cause sectarian clashes in Jdeideh knowing that many Pro-Hezbollah shiites live in Rwaysset (near Jdeideh).

I second Sami Gemayel’s opinion that no one should protest or cause tensions but on the contrary let them have their commemoration day and show everyone the true image of this terrorist party that has been trying to divide Christians for years now.

I also suggest The LF or Kataeb ask the head of Dahieh’s municipality the permission to hold a ceremony to commemorate Sheikh Bashir Gemayel’s martyrdom or have an exposition on the martyrs of the true Lebanese Resistance in some Hezbollah school to see how it goes.

No it is not about LOL, i am actually loling @ OTV.

Check out this P.R they released today:

Feb 14 commemoration

Wednesday, February 3rd, 2010

(Picture from nowlebanon.com)

For the 5th year in a row, March 14 forces calls on Lebanese to massively participate in commemorating Hariri’s assassination in Martyrs Square, Beirut.

To be honest, i think those massive demonstrations should be stopped once and for all and turned into an exclusive event similar to what is being done for Gebran Tueni.

The past few years have proven that only elections can judge who’s the majority and who’s not. March14 parties won the 2009 elections and have nothing to prove. Added to that, Jumblatt’s latest positions will only influence negatively on the event, whether he attends or not.

On a final note, February 14 is a sad event while March 14 is the day that marked the birth of the Cedars Revolution. This is the one we should be celebrating massively while the other should be mourned discretly.

Lebanese Women & Nationality Law

Friday, January 29th, 2010

Lebanon’s present nationality law allows men to pass on their nationality to non-Lebanese wives and children one year after their marriage is registered, but prohibits Lebanese women married to non-Lebanese from doing the same.

Those who oppose granting women nationality rights often argue that the law is aimed at resettling Palestinian refugees and that the naturalization of thousands of Palestinian men and children would tip Lebanon’s delicate sectarian balance in favor of Sunni Muslims, the religion of the majority of the country’s 400,000 Palestinian refugees. [Original Article from the Daily Star]

A study conducted by the National Committee for the Follow up on Women’s Issues (CFUWI) showed that only 2% of Lebanese women are married to Palestinians, and that there is no real threat of naturalizing a large number of Palestinians by changing the law.

However, i beg to differ as no credible statistics are available about the number of Palestinians in Lebanon to begin with, not to mention the Lebanese who live in isolated and far away villages and that do not register their weddings.

Changing the law nowadays is unhealthy unless Palestinians are excluded from it, but i can already see people inventing ways around the law considering how corrupt this country is.

Therefore, even though i am 100% with giving this right to Lebanese women, but i think this is a bad timing to do it and it is the wrong start. This is like asking to remove political sectarianism without decentralizing the country and secularising the people. You can’t start a building with a window. You need strong bases to begin with.

NO to lowering the voting age !

Sunday, January 24th, 2010

Now that this topic is arising once again prior to the municipal elections, i find myself obliged to point out the dangers of lowering the voting age to 18 in Lebanon.

I posted about this topic almost a year ago and it still stands.

I find absolutely no advantages to such a measure except for our rotten class of politicians who now have easier targets to control and brainwash. Our youth in its large majority lacks political awareness and knowledge, not to mention historical information, and this is manifested in the universities and the incidents that occur there as well as on online forums and blogs where you find 16 and 17 year old supporters fighting blindly and stupidly.

Based on that, any rational and conscious government should promote awareness among the youth and enlighten them on the past and guide them towards striving excellence in education and professional levels. But this is Lebanon and i am dreaming of course that such measures be adopted !

Instead, “minzeed el teen balle” as the Lebanese proverb says, and inject the political fights further into the schools and universities by lowering the voting age to 18.

Some people are saying this law is favorable to Hezbollah and the Shiite community, but numbers show that it doesnt really change anything, except the fact that now political parties are more willing to invest in schools and universities and mess up young people’s lifes to get their votes.

I consider myself as a person who matured early and got involved in politics at a very young age relatively, however i realized with every additional year how unexperienced and unaware i was when i was 18 and until 20 or 21 … University years are crucial for every young Lebanese to forge his character, to enhance his knowledge and to dream of a prosperous future. Instead, now we will have more students failing their classes and beating up each others kermel Nasrallah wou Hariri wou Geagea wou Aoun.

This is a truly sad story, and this country is proving more and more to be a complete joke.
