Riots in Jerusalem

Tuesday, March 16th, 2010

The situation in Jerusalem has been a timed bomb for a long time now, it is just some time before it explodes. I fear Israelies are not going to stop until they have Jerusalem for themselves, and who knows when will Al-Aqsa mosque crumble cause of the Israeli underground digging.

Latest Report on Hamas combat doctrine was released and confirms how it is using kids as human shields and invading mosques and taking cover in them.

Masked Palestinians clashed with Israeli police in multiple East Jerusalem neighborhoods on Tuesday, hurling rocks at security forces and burning tires.

Sevens people were arrested as dozens of youths hurled stones at Border Police officers in the Shoafat refugee camp and in the neighborhoods of Isawiyah and Wadi Joz. No injuries were reported.

Police presence is high in Jerusalem after Hamas called for a “day of rage” against Israel following its rededication of a synagogue in Jerusalem’s Old City on Monday. [AFP]

Scientists predict large Lebanon earthquake looming

Saturday, March 13th, 2010

BEIRUT: Although it probably passed you by, Lebanon was one of many countries to experience an earthquake this week.

A quake registering 3.8 on the Richter Scale hit 50 kilometers off the coast of Sidon at just after 2:30 Tuesday morning. No damage was reported and, according to Ata Elias, assistant professor at the American University of Beirut’s (AUB) Department of Geology, it was in no way related to recent larger tremors.

“The earthquake that happened off the coast of Sidon was very small,” he told students at AUB Thursday.

Hit by Reality

Friday, March 12th, 2010

Every civilized country in the world is proud to send their athletes to participate in international and regional competitions and promote the country’s image, with one exception: Lebanon.

My friend was telling me about a friend of his who had been training for months now for the World Junior Taekwondo Championships being held in Mexico. The government barely paid anything for his travel fees, but worse of all, he was asked to withdraw from the first game because his opponent was ISRAELI.

What utter nonsense is that ? What does politics have to do with sports? How will this 16 year old athlete be motivated again after this incident?

I can only imagine the frustration and dissapointment he must have felt. Maybe we are not yet civilized after all.

Antoine Choueiri, an advertising man to remember

Thursday, March 11th, 2010

Article & Caricature by the National.

Anyone who is anyone in advertising has a story about the first time they met Antoine Choueiri.

Ramzi Raad, an industry veteran who was recently named Advertising Person of the Year by the Dubai Lynx Awards, has one of the best.

It was the summer of 1968, in swinging pre-civil war Beirut, and Mr Raad, now the chairman and chief executive of TBWA\RAADCK, was a young advertising executive working for an agency while attending university. One afternoon, his boss sent him on an errand to the magazine where Mr Choueiri worked, called Arab Week, and when he reached the building he was pointed towards a large room with a big balcony.

Nasrallah’s successor

Thursday, March 11th, 2010

As fanatic and extremist as Hassan Nasrallah might appear, he is nothing compared to Naim Qassem, Hezbollah’s Deputy Secretary-General.

This man is favoured by many to succeed to Nasrallah in case the latter is assassinated or removed by The Iranians.

Qassem never misses a chance to undermine Lebanon’s sovereignty, to speak on our behalf, to decide who’s right or wrong and deceive Lebanese with his statements.

Had it not been for the readiness of the resistance, Israel would have waged war on Lebanon yesterday before today.

When did Israel ever wage a war against us without being provoked first ? I think that’s the 1000th time i ask the same question without any valid answers from M8 readers.

“We do not depend on promises but on God and our mujahedeen warriors, and this is what prevents, postpones and delays Israeli aggression,” he added.

And Is God and your mujahedeen warriors that are reconstructing the damage you leave behind everytime you go on one of your adventures?

Qassem called for halting political bickering “to seize the chance of economic prosperity as the whole world observes Lebanon today respectfully and confidently.”

Indeed, Lebanon nowadays is known as a terrorist state and most countries in the world will strip and humiliate every Lebanese tourist before allowing him to enter. Respect indeed !

Thank You “President”

Wednesday, March 10th, 2010

I spent some time yesterday watching old Sagesse movies back in 1999 when they first won the Asian Championship. I still have goose bumps watching those amazing times.
Those were unforgettable moments for me and many Lebanese and President Choueiri was behind all that. His devotion, commitment, financing and love to the sport and to his people pushed us to the top.

Thank you for everything and may you rest in peace.

Here is Choueiri’s speech during an LF event.

And a short movie remembering the Sagesse team golden years led by Antoine Choueiri and Elie Mouchantaf (Estez el Riyadi) .

R.I.P Antoine Choueiri

Tuesday, March 9th, 2010

Update: Funeral services will take place on Thursday 11th of March in Mar Gerges Cathedral in Beirut at 11 am then will be buried in his hometown in Bcharreh.

14:05 وفاة رجل الاعمال أنطوان شويري بعد معاناة طويلة مع المرض

Antoine Choueiri has passed away around 14:00 today. He was admitted to the hospital lately due to a pneumonia and had many health issues.

For those who are not familiar with this man, Antoine Choueiri dominates the media landscape in the Middle East as a representative of some of the major names in the local industry, including Lebanon’s LBC Sat, the Al Jazeera network, the daily newspaper Al Hayat based in London, the UAE’s Dubai Media Inc and Lebanese publications Al Nahar and Al Safir. [More]

But for us in Lebanon, and specifically the Sagesse fans, he was more known as “President” and as the man who turned the humble and modest Sagesse team into an multi-Arab and double Asian champion. He revolutionized basketball in Lebanon and made it reach international levels of competition. Basketball and other sports today still suffer in Lebanon because of his retirement from sports few years ago.

R.I.P President. You will be missed.

Our great Army !

Monday, March 8th, 2010

[Original Article from lebanonfiles]

Translated by myself:

Army Sergeant H. was heading to his village in the Bekaa, when he was surprised to see an army checkpoint. Instead of stopping, he speeded and stormed through the checkpoint forcing the soldiers to shoot at the vehicle and stop him.

35 artillery rockets and ammunition for machine guns as well as a Fal machine gun were found in the car. Checkbooks were also founds and passport pictures of two young men from the South & Baalbeck.

Imagine if this guy was caught by mistake, how many got away with whatever they were doing.

No one will give it much attention of course, because this army soldier could be supportive of the resistance and arming himself to face the Israelis in the upcoming war. How can we deny him this right?

Let’s focus instead on spreading rumors on the LF smuggling drugs in Elie Keyrouz’s car or getting military trainings in Meerab, or setting up checkpoints in the heart of Keserwan to arrest minors driving their old folks’ cars. Those are the real threat to Lebanon’s security and sovereignty.

Oil in Lebanon

Saturday, March 6th, 2010

I was forwarded a scanned image of an article published lately in an undentified paper that clearly states that there is oil in Lebanon. I’ve read similar stories in the past but never an official study was released in the news. A Norwegian company in coordination with the ministry of power did this research and confirmed there is oil in Lebanon. This same company confirmed there’s oil 3 years ago as well but the story stopped there.

Here’s another article by a certain Chadi Nachabe on how Oil can be Lebanon’s salvation and its way out of the crisis. To be honest, i believe we should have a capable government and a strong army and good diplomatic ties before going after our own oil, because at the time being, it will only bring us more trouble.

Nabil N2oula sues Imad Moussa

Tuesday, March 2nd, 2010

I would understand N2oula suing Imad Moussa for reasons such as disrespect and mockery, which he did, but suing him as well for “inciting to killing” is a complete joke !

For those who missed Imad Moussa’s article, as you can see below, Moussa was destroying Orangist Islamic Crusader N2oula and mocking him all over the place, and claiming Mossad should feel threatened by him and add him to their hit list.
Who can ignore Nabil N2oula after his B.S speech @ the Hekmeh school praising Hezbollah martyrs and dishonoring the Christ ?

Who wouldn’t want his head after he proclaimed himself the biggest Lebanese political clown out there ?

I can only imagine Moussa’s next masterpiece on this lawsuit lol !

Sir Elton John : Jesus was super-intelligent gay man

Sunday, February 28th, 2010

Sir Elton John has claimed Jesus was a “super-intelligent gay man” in an interview with a US magazine. [More]

This guy is totally fucked up, not sure how he earned his “Sir” title. England should be ashamed of him and take back his title. What a loser !

How the pig became bacon …

Friday, February 26th, 2010

In just 60 years, Israel’s secret service has become a byword for ruthlessness and audacity. As the storm surrounding its Dubai operation intensifies, Gordon Thomas, author of the definitive history of Mossad, reveals the inside story of its most daring hit.

[Full Story]

Guests for the Iranian celebration of the Khomeini Revolution were steadily making their way into the centre. At 8pm, the Iranian ambassador arrived and hurried inside. None of the guests resembled the face on the cell phones of the three kidon.
At 9pm a silver Mitsubishi Pajero turned into the street and parked close to where Ludwig and Manuel were standing on opposite sides. For a moment the driver and his passenger sat checking the street.

Then the passenger door opened and Imad Mughniyeh emerged. He wore a dark suit and his beard had been neatly trimmed. He started to walk up the street toward the parked hired car. He was level with the vehicle when there was a huge explosion which blew the car into pieces and beheaded Mughniyeh. Later, some of his body parts were found 20 metres away.

Which of the kidon was the first to trigger the bomb would remain unknown. But before the first screaming guests ran from the Iranian Cultural Centre reception, and the police and ambulances arrived, the three assassins had vanished.

Qaddafi calls for jihad against Switzerland

Friday, February 26th, 2010

Till when will Europeans be victims of their moderate and selfless acts ? I don’t know, but time to react and do something about the Islamization threat is running out.

“It is against unbelieving and apostate Switzerland that jihad (holy war) ought to be proclaimed by all means,” Mr Gaddafi said in a speech in the Mediterranean coastal city of Bengazi to mark the birthday of the Muslim Prophet Mohammed.

“Jihad against Switzerland, against Zionism, against foreign aggression is not terrorism,” he said.
“Any Muslim around the world who has dealings with Switzerland is an infidel (and is) against Islam, against Mohammed, against God, against the Koran,” the leader told a crowd of thousands in a speech broadcast live on television.

Halutz warns Nasrallah

Wednesday, February 24th, 2010

His assassination was attributed to Israel, and this created deterrence. It is not for nothing that Nasrallah has been sitting in a bunker for three-and-a-half years. He though and still thinks that the moment we can, we will assassinate him. It damages their conduct and deters (them).

[Haaretz]

It is quite funny when you hear Hezbollah and his media puppets describe Israel as terrorized and scared of Hezbollah, then the next day Dan Halutz tells Nasrallah where he’s been living for the past years and that they can kill him anytime.

Whom to believe ?
None of course, but that re-affirms how unstable is our situation because of the terrorist militia we have here.

Hezbollah => No Future for Lebanon.

Shada Omar resigns from LBC

Sunday, February 14th, 2010

I wonder what Sheikh Pierre Daher thinks he’s doing …but then again he has been doing it for the past 5 years, so it was just a matter of time !

The way the LF & Daher have dealt with this issue is quite saddening and dissapointing …
