Where was the army when tough decisions were needed ??
Where was the army when Beirut was invaded ??
Where was the army when HA thugs were burning tyres and closing roads ?
When was the army when HA shot and killed one of its pilots ??

Aoun on the incident in Bsarma…Sad…
Those Lebanese forces thugs….tttt…I mean who still believes this mad man???? Why is it that whenever there is any problem, we hear Aoun coming out to accuse the LF??? And then he boasts that he has no issues as to his popularity on the Christian scene….give me a break!!!!!
Funny…he did not postpone because he was not welcome…nooo…because of the situation….shoots…
Well…I don’t want to play defense attorney for Sanyoura but what is Aouns track record during his time as an interim PM??? Can anyone please do the comparison?
So now Guerilla warfare is necessary????????? How come he is blessing the right of HA to bear arms when he launched a destructive fratricide war back in 1989 just because he claimed that there could be only ONE ARMED PARTY in Lebanon and that was the Army????????????
When they change their name from “al moukawama al islamiya”…when they change their general secretary from Hassan Nasrallah … when they stop following “wilayat al fakih” then perhaps we could think of joining them…
Amazing coming from an ex commander in chief of the Lebanese Army and from someone CONSTANTLY criticizing the way govt is run asking for a more “democratic” approach and whatnot….
Etlino el ouwet
On a more serious note…this guy is more than due for retirement…truly he has been the achiles heel of the Lebanese Chrsitians from the very first day he decided to play politics and this dates back to the late 70s… from his days as a slave for hire to whomever pays more ….To those who were criticizing DSG’s actions and reactions to the current situation, I ask: what would you do in a similar scenario????? How do you go about practicing politics in such a messed up country?????
Quoting Geagea ..

LF should quit M14
Posted by N10452LF Should quit M14 or at least distinguish itself from it ..
I’ve been critisizing this unbalanced ’strategic’ alliance for a while now and all i got were insults and attacks … and here we are in the worst situation the LF could ask for …
LF allies once again backstab Geagea and lower their speeches, reconcile with their opponents and compromise on issues Hakim does not accept to bargain on, and all that to suit their electoral calculations and their selfish goals.
Jumblatt & Irslen signing a MOU, i can tolerate that, but PSP & HEZBOLLAH ??? and who knows maybe next week Hariri & Hezbollah will be meeting ..
And for those who call Jumblatt a traitor, you guys are naive .. the man is still the same, whomever thinks Jumblatt is a traitor or whatever knows nothing about him and nothing about lebanese politics ..
But my point is here : Why does the LF have to pay the price everytime ??
Chou jeyeena mennoun khayye ?? screw their money & their votes … our dignity & credibility is at sake !

Posted by MickelWell it’s finally here! We can all relax now. Lebanon’s problems are all solved, we’re all going to live in peace and prosperity and get along great. And the people of Lebanon will finally reclaim their position as supreme inhabitants of the Earth.
If anyone has been listening to Lebanese politicians lately, they would think that dialogue will bring all of the above. They talk about it like it’s the answer to all our problems, and if they all get together, hide their grudges, shake hands, and exchange fake smiles, then everything is alright.
I’m not expecting anything from this “dialogue”. It’s just another pill that we’re giving to Lebanon. But that pill won’t cure Lebanon’s cancer.
Who in their right mind would believe that Hezbollah will give up its weapons if it was asked to by other Lebanese? And now they are putting obstacles in front of the meeting, asking for wider representation, more issues to talk about…
So M8 will do what has now become its trademark move: “to3til”. Then the opposing factions will bicker about the subjects at hand for about a month or so. They will get nowhere and finally be tired of this ‘dialogue’. At the end they will come up with a fifty-page statement about the ’agreements’ that they made. That text will be pointless, won’t solve any of the core problems, and will be vague ‘bimtiyez’. After the ‘agreement’ each politician will interpret the text as they wish, and no progress will be made.
I guess all Lebanese are welcoming these ‘dialogue sessions’ though, because they will buy them another couple of months of relative peace, before the ‘7iwar spirit’ dwindles and Lebanon slides back to sectarian tensions and violence.
I never felt that ashamed and that frustrated in the same time of what the LF has become ..
Is this what the Jem3a Cha3biyye is graduating ??? Arent there any more decent people representing the LF ?
Wednesday
TODAY I am having lunch with the Lebanese Forces (LF). During the civil war, Lebanon divided into sectarian mini-states. Then it split up along militia lines. Today most of the political parties are the children of these armed factions, and the LF are no exception.
Nady Ghosn, the party’s spokesman, has come to pick me up in his car. He has a thick moustache, an addiction to Marlboro Reds, gold-rimmed Aviator glasses and a neatly ironed pink shirt. He appears straight out of the early 1970s, when Lebanon’s Christians were still on top.
On the road to his neighbourhood, I notice something about the sprawl. In Beirut people live on top of each other. The mountains above the city are covered in smart villas that slope down into tenement towers and a slumland of concrete blocks, cramped flats and problems. You can tell a poor area because children play in the streets, and the buildings are still peppered by bullet holes.
We draw into Ayn ar-Rummanah. Mr Ghosn points out the local sites. He speaks slowly, precisely. “Here is where the civil war began with the shooting up of a Palestinian bus.” Tacky plastic Madonnas are stuck onto buildings, and blood-red crosses painted on every wall. The cross is staked at the bottom, to show that it is driven into Lebanese soil. This is the symbol of Mr Geagea’s movement.
We park outside the local LF headquarters. On top of the buildings are two immense crosses. There is an urgency to Christianity here; I feel as if Christ died a few weeks ago and the word is spreading.
“This is the border.” A tattooed man guarding the door points to the end of the street. A giant wall painting of Nabih Berry, the Shia speaker of Parliament and an ally of Hizbullah, stares back at me. We can hear the call to prayer. “There are the Shia.”
Inside the headquarters I am led to a small tiled room. Turkish coffee is poured and a group of young men sit nervously around me. Mr Ghosn begins to speak. “People are becoming more religious. This is our 43rd year of troubles, destabilisation and war. Faith is what they are turning to.” Is the increased religiosity of the Lebanese Christians a marker of their decline from being a dominant group to an insecure one?
The walls are covered in stickers depicting Bashir Gemayel, posters of Mr Geagea and in the corner what looks like a little nativity crib made up of stones with stickers of yesterday’s warlords on them. “Are you a nostalgic movement?” I asked, a bit presumptuously.
“No. We’re proud. We are focusing on the elections. On mobilisation.”
It seems the chief spokesman is busy, so Jean Tawanil, a regular LF supporter, takes me for lunch in the local restaurant. The classic Lebanese spread is laid on: hummus, kebabs, fatoush salad, kibbe balls and spicy beef sausages. Jean smokes a water pipe.
HONE EL TE3TEER !
Lebanese food is almost never bad, but the conversation makes for a strange meal. At one moment my companion is laughing about how he doesn’t like the dirty, stupid, smelly Shia Muslims who live over the road. Ten minutes later he is earnestly telling me how he has many good friends among them and it’s only the leadership he doesn’t like.
He begins what seems like a rant against Israel, which ends up with him announcing his respect for the Israeli army and how he expects Israeli troops to be operating in Beirut very shortly. His frequent toilet breaks allow me to gather my thoughts. It seems the long-standing identity conflict of the Lebanese Christians continue in the minds of even the most committed LF supporters. Then he turns the conversation turns to that traveller’s classic: “Don’t you think my country has the best girls?”
Jean gives me a lift back to the town centre. “You see,” he is trying to sum up his political position, “I like France, America and Israel. They like Iran, Syria.” He points over the road to the neighbouring Shia district of Ash Shiyah. “I don’t want that…it’s not any good.” Iranian flags are fluttering.
Many posters stuck to lamp-posts celebrate the recent release from an Israeli prison after nearly three decades years of Samir Kuntar, a Lebanese Druze who joined a Palestinian guerrilla group and was caught and convicted of killing five Israelis, including a baby girl. But Jean isn’t pointing at them. Instead, he points out the dilapidated state of the buildings, the cheap electric wires and the dirtiness of the streets
More essential Questions ..
Posted by N10452I would like to elaborate on LJ’s earlier post and address serious questions to Aoun and every Aounist who did not find anything wrong in Aoun’s latest statement !
Let us follow this twisted logic and get back 15 to 20 years behind and ask the orangists:
1- What was the army doing on the 14th of February 1989 in the LF Controlled regions ?
2- What was the army doing in 1990 in the LF regions ?
3- What was the army doing in Klay3at ?
4- What was the army doing in Adma ?
The Lebanese Forces were a resistance, protecting the Christian regions and standing against the Syrians and had its legitimacy from the people first and foremost.
How dare Aoun send his army men and endanger the Resistance’s security ??
I will assume just for the sake of comparison that both Hezbollah & The Lebanese Forces are resistances, knowing that i do not acknowledge Hezbollah as a resistance, but a terrorist party and a collaborator & Traitor to Lebanon.
If no Aounist has a convincing answer to those questions, then you just justified what you used to call “murders commited by the LF against the army”.
Thank you Mon General.
PS: And i suggest the LF opens a case against Aoun for giving such orders in the past.
Quote of the Day by Aoun
Posted by N10452El General knows the drills of the army, and he wants to know how the helicopter got there in the first place … Min 2ayya 7a2 an LA helicopter is flying over the HA regions ?? meen mfakreen 7aloun ??
What difference does it make why the helicopter was there in the first place ??
I’ve seen people prostitute themselves for political & financial purposes, but Aoun is exceeding all my expectations …
A “Smart” maneuver by Bashar el Assad
Posted by N10452I hate to say it, but it is true. Syria is getting smarter and seems to be more in control than ever before and all that because of M14 mistakes and the USA screwing up in the region.
The recent “threat” he dispatched in his speech last week forced Saad Hariri to go to Tripoli in person to calm things down and he was quoted saying: “I will do everything I can in order not the let anyone damage the Alawites’ security in Tripoli and to foil any external plot to tamper with the security of the Alawites or the security of Tripoli,” Hariri told an Iftar dinner in the port city of Tripoli.”
Syria has advised the army to move to the North to protect the Alawites and stop the hostilities and the emergence of the extremist Sunnite groups and indirectly pointed out that it might get back in since it is a threat to its security ( which is a big lie) …
So now Tripoli will calm down suddenly and all those who died will be gone in waste ..
This is one example of how much Lebanese politicians care about their supporters, and the price they are willing to let those supporters pay to achieve their goals ..
So sad.
One of the main arguments that Hezbollah came up with in regards to the assassination of Samer Hanna is that the Hezbollah terrorist had mistaken the Lebanese Helicopter for an Israeli one.
We might be ignorants when it comes to weapons & army machines, but even an idiot can tell the difference between an Israeli & a Lebanese helicopter.
In fact, when it comes to Lebanese Helicopters:
1- There is not one single Lebanese Army helicopter without the Lebanese flag on it.
2- The Lebanese Army Helicopters are old and small and most of them have no launchers for the rockets.
As for the Israeli planes:
1- They have a huge star of david on them.
2- The oldest one is at least 10 times more modern and developped than a regular Lebanese army helicopter.
Added to that, but i am not sure of that fact, but i dont believe the models of Helicopters we have even exist in Israel anymore, and that i am sure any HA militant knows.
In Lebanon, we have ‘Gazelle’ and UH-1H US helicopters that are mainly used for transport. ( based on the LA website).
In Israel, and as per their official website, none of their models from the 80s till the 90s and till today are similar to the ones we have.
Here are the ones from the 90s:
Boeing AH-64 Apache
Eurocopter AS-565 Panther
Sikorsky UH-60 Black Hawk
Now lets make things even clearer and see pictures of two Lebanese helicopters and two Israeli ones.

My Reply to “Lebanese Without Borders”
Posted by N10452It quite amazes me how Lebanese people tend to judge in general without even making any effort in understanding the article they are reading, the person they are talking to, or in this case the blog they are examining …
A certain Nabil wrote a post about our blog entitled “The Ouwet Front : AN Outlet for the Lebanese-Forces” and portrayed the blog and readers here as blind followers and as living on the legacy of our leaders and lacking patriotism !!
I wish ya Nabil that you bothered to read some of our posts, specially the ones related to the Martyrs Mass posters that came after the Bachir post, and saw the critics directed towards the LF leadership on MANY occasions, and the harsh attacks i have done myself on this leadership and the incompetence it is showing at different levels.
This blog is a place where LFers are freely expressing their opinions and daring to critisize their leader and his decisions .. this blog is an example to follow for all other political parties and their youth …
We have been asked to close this blog several times for the bold & contraversial posts !
Nonetheless, considering how bad is the image of most political parties today in Lebanon, i might understand this opinion of his, even though he did not bother read but rather generalized on one post out of almost 2200 now !
But what i do not tolerate and will never accept is someone polluting our history and falsifying facts and showing pure ignorance to say the less ..
It is important to note the Lebanese Forces were among the first to collaborate with enemies to fight other: Sabra and Shatila massacres.
If you had bothered went through the blog, you would have found tons of info related to Bachir & the Sabra & Chatilla massacre and how the Lebanese Forces HAD NOTHING to do with it ..
The Sabra & Chatilla massacre was perpetrated by few thugs who took order from NO LF Official and were mostly Hobeika’s followers added to the Israeli soldiers led by Sharon who were there, and any educated LFer will condemn this act and will never justify why it was done ..
But it is worthy noting that i refuse that any apology be presented to the Palestinian people, not before they officially apologize for ALL the massacres they’ve done and pay Indemnities to the families ..
Finally, I am not responsable for comments published by readers, i cannot possibly monitor the tons of replies i get per day.
PS: This blog gets tons of replies because its a successful one, based on honesty and credibility, and is far from generalization and spreading lies or critisizing others falsly, maybe you should try it sometimes, maybe then you will get more than 1 reply per post, probably the only reply you ever got.
A major misconception ..
Posted by N10452It has come to my attention many people still think that the LF were fighting the Lebanese army back when Aoun was in command. This major misconception is very much exploited by Aounists and lately by Hezbollah who was trying to innocent himself from the murder of Army pilot Samer Hanna by showing the ‘atrocities’ the LF did to the army almost 20 years ago.
So let us clarify things once and for all.
The Lebanese army was split when Aoun took over and therefore Aoun had some units fighting for him ( sort of militia or group) while others refused to join. Aoun had a militia like the LF had one, and the LF were fighting Aoun’s militia and not the Lebanese army. Go back in the archives and you will realize how well many army members were treated when caught.
Murders occured from both sides, but the LF NEVER was fighting against the Lebanese army, but rather against Aoun’s thugs.
Added to that, when Amine appointed Aoun as head of the temporary government, he had 6 months to prepare the presidential elections, and after those 6 months, he becomes illegitimate, so again Aoun was not eligible to lead the army, give orders to start a war or anything of that kind.
So to sum it up, that is to silence any Aounist or terrorist HA who is justifying the killing of Samer Hanna by saying the LF did worse. And the biggest proof to that is that the LF voluntarily gave up their weapons to the army in 1992.
The new Army commander
Posted by N10452I was willing to write a long post elaborating my opinion on the new army commander, but after reading his latest statement concerning the murder of Samer Hanna on the hands of Hezbollah, i believe just quoting him will do the job :
وحول حادث الطوافة العسكرية، اعتبر العماد قهوجي بأن استشهاد النقيب الطيار سامر حنا، هي خسارة كبيرة، سواء للجيش أو للمقاومة، مؤكداً متابعة مجريات التحقيق حتى كشف الملابسات كاملة، إحقاقاً للحق، وحفاظاً على قدرات المواجهة مع العدو الإسرائيلي
in English :
Commander Kahwaji considered that the martyrdom of army pilot Samer Hanna is a big loss for both the army AND the ‘Resistance’ [...]
How much is too much?
Posted by MickelI was looking at a list of Lebanese political parties, and realized that I have never heard of more than half of them.
The list that I read had more than 110 parties!
Some of them are just plain pointless:
Universal party, Lebanese Ecology Party (What does the enviroment have to do with political parties?), Congress Party (congress of what?), Promise Party (what promise?), Worker’s League-Rabitat Al-Shaghila (LMFAO!)… And the list goes on and on.
Maybe soon we’ll have Hizb l Dikanjiyyeh, and Tajamou3 Nwatir l bineyet…
I guess this represents what Lebanon really is: A bunch of minorities that have nothing in common.
LF Martyrs Mass posters ..
Posted by N10452The Lebanese Forces are organizing their annual mass for the Martyrs on the 21st of September 2008.
Location: Fouad Chehab Stadium Jounieh
Time: 8 am - 2 pm
I spotted the posters on the street the first day, i loved the design, simple and straighforward. The first one i saw was Sheikh Bashir’s poster, then Pr. Camille Chamoun then Sheikh Pierre Gemayel (senior) then ( and there i was very surprised) a picture of Jesus Christ and St.Mary ??
I mean come on guys ! i understand our cause is a christian cause and our struggle throughout the years were to preserve Free Christianity in Lebanon and the Middle East, but i dont see how the LF managed to put religious pics on their posters, you ask me why ?
1- The martyrs masses have turned into politiza bazaars in the past few years, not that i mind them, but lets stop calling them masses, and this year it is occuring in a football stadium and is clearly an electoral festival, so sticking The Lord’s pic to advertise for a political event is very wrong.
2- The idea of putting posters with The Lord’s or St.Mary’s pics on them is not very common and unusual and honestly pointless.
3- The quote next to the pictures cannot be related to neither Jesus Christ nor St.Mary, specially when compared to the other politicians & main figures put.
Nonetheless, i loved seeing Charles Malek on those billboards, it is good to know someone still remembers this amazing person.
PS: for those in charge of the facebook group for the mass, maybe you should bother take a look at the Anti-LF comments all over the wall and under the pictures attached.

Who is after the army ?
Posted by N10452Today’s incident is very misleading in its timing and location.
I present my condoleances first of all to the parents of Samer Hanna for their tragic loss and to the Lebanese army in general.
What happened today ?
An LA helicopter was attaqued over South Lebanon by unknown gunmen, leading to the death of an army captain. The region where the incident happened is near Jezzine and is known to be a shiite region ( clashes btw Amal & Hezbollah used to occur there during the civil war), and there is no trace of Sunnite presence around it, which pretty much eliminates the possibility of a jihadist attack.
From the articles & analysis i read, i can only come up with two reasonable asumptions:
1- The army helicopter went into a restricted HA region and HA gunmen shot to warn them but hit the helicopter instead. There is no interest for HA to engage in a fight with the army or harass it, specially after The ex-head of army now president of the Republic Michel Suleiman assisted them in invading Beirut and is a very loyal ally and friend to the so-called ‘Resistance’
2- Palestinians or members of an extremist group were paid to shoot at the army in order to cause tension between them and Hezbollah. One should note that the army was denied access to the crime scene by Hezbollah militiamen, who are probably confused and surprised by this infiltration into their zones.
Will we hear again about this incident ?
Everyone will condemn it tomorrow, some politicians are already trying to gain some political points out of it by accusing HA, who definitly hold a certain responsability, but it will be forgotten and another innocent Lebanese will go in vain.

What Happened?
Posted by MickelFirst off I would like to thank N for giving me this opportunity. Hopefully I won’t dissapoint.
In my first post, I want to tackle the Bipolar disease that the Aounis are suffering from. For those of you who don’t know, bipolar is a phsycological issue in which a person has two different personalities. And that’s exactly what the Aounis are suffering from.
Not more than three years ago, the Aounis and us had pretty much everything in common. We used to spend all our time laughing at Syrians, Hezbollah, the SSNP, etc.. Aoun or Geagea rarely came to mind. We were fighting together for the same cause.
Then, something went terribly wrong. I don’t know what hit you across the head. Everything you stood for was reversed. All your beliefs simply flipped.
You ask for Lebanon not to be tied up with all the Mideast issues. And then you say Hezbollah’s weapons should stay until the Palestinian issue is resolved!
You fought the LF under the title of fighting militias. And now you support Hezbollah’s weapons.
You got beaten up and humiliated by the ‘Joint Security Forces’. And now you ask for the release of the four generals who ordered that attack.
You fight for a free and independent Lebanon. Yet you’re allied to the SSNP who believes that Lebanon should be part of Syria!
The list goes on and on and on. So could someone tell me what happened? Why are all the things that you stood against suddenly good now? If you are with Aoun because you don’t like Hakim–and I know a lot of you who are like that– then just make your own political party. You don’t have to be with Hakim, just don’t be with Aoun. Follow your beliefs not a person.
