  sorry Mark,but what I saw in the last two weeks in Lebanon was unfortunately to compare with Bangladesh and not swizerland!you talk about old times.

  two lebanese dogs got married ( they were from diferent religion too ) .. they went to paris for honeymoon, the second day the wife couldnt stand it any more.. she said i want to leave from this discusting place.. cant stand it..

  as they were very rich, they went to new york, in new york the dog wife couldnt stand 6 hours .. she started crying/.. move me from here..
  they went to california, to sidney, to honk konk, to london.. they couldnt stay in either place for more then few hours..

  finally they decided to go back to lebanon…
  as soon as they were back , they went walking on the beach. as they smelled the lovely smell of the seweges and garbages pumped in the sea.. the wife had this huge smile on her face..

  Christian Mountaineers kept Lebanon clean and treated the Cedars as the Lord’s.

  All those fucking filthy followers of Iran in the way they dress and live turned Lebanon into a sewer, including those who desecrated the sanctity of the Cedars with their fucking water pipes?

  It is sad that as lebanese we can’t agree on the beauty that God gave Lebanon and instead just use this particular trasure that is the marvel around the world to trade insults and engage in recrimination. Nice post Mark, but I don’t think people appreciate the beauty within and maybe we don’t deserve it.

  الحوار نموذجي بين بلدين صغيرين متشابهين في التعددية ومختلفين في ادارتها. واحد يشغل العالم منذ القرن التاسع عشر بأزماته وتوظيفها الداخلي والخارجي. وآخر ينشغل عنه العالم بسبب هدوئه وقدرته على تجاوز الصراعات التاريخية وحل الخلافات السياسية بالوسائل الديمقراطية من ضمن المؤسسات. وليس أهم من التفاصيل في المحادثات اللبنانية – السويسرية سوى المقاربة الشاملة لتجربتي العيش المشترك بالواقعية والتواضع. فمن باب الواقعية استخدم الرئيس ميشال سليمان صيغة الماضي لتذكير رئيس الاتحاد الفيديرالي السويسري باسال كوشبان بأن لبنان (كان يوصف بأنه سويسرا الشرق). ومن باب التواضع تحدث الرئيس السويسري عن النموذج الخاص بكل بلد قائلاً إن (سر نجاح التجربة في بلاده هو أنه ما من أحد يبقى دائماً في وضع الأقلية أو الأكثرية، ومن الضروري ايجاد نوع من التوازن الذي يضمن عدم مبالغة أحد بالإفراط في التمسك بالسلطة). وهو أبدى إعجابه بالجهود الحالية في لبنان لـ (بناء لبنان مسالم متسامح فخور باستقلاله ومدافع عن سيادته، لبنان للبنانيين وليس لبنان المشرذم الذي كان والذي قد يكونه لو لم تبذل هذه الجهود من قبل الرئيس).

  لكن لبنان فقد سحره الخاص، وليس من السهل أن يعمل فيه السحر السويسري. فهو، كما رآه السفير الألماني هانس يورغ هابر بعد سنة على مهمته في بيروت، (آخر دولة عثمانية في العالم لجهة نظام الطوائف). وهو، من دون أن يقول الرئيس السويسري إنه رآه خلال ثلاثة أيام، يتأرجح بين كونه نوعاً من (الكاريكاتور) بالقياس على سويسرا وبين تعرضه لأن يصبح (حقل ألغام) في (ساحة) مفتوحة على كل الصراعات بما يتجاوز الصومال. وليس أمامه سوى أن يستعيد وحدته الوطنية لكي يبقى كما وصفه الفاتيكان (أكثر من بلد، إنه رسالة) أو يخسر الرسالة ثم نفسه كبلد قابل للحكم بالمشاركة في نظام ديمقراطي.

  ذلك أن البؤس السياسي يبدو بلا حدود، وسط البؤس الاقتصادي والمالي والاجتماعي وحتى الثقافي. فكلما تصورنا أن البؤس وصل الى القعر اكتشفنا أن هناك قعراً أعمق. حتى خطر الارهاب، فإنه صار مادة في السجال السياسي بدل أن يكون حافزاً لتوحيد الجهود لمواجهته أمنياً وعسكرياً وفكرياً. والطر الأكبر هو الانقسام السياسي حول الأمور الأساسية للبلد، بحيث نبدو عاجزين عن ايجاد حل لأي موضوع خلافي عميق، سواء على مستوى العلاقات في الداخل أو على مستوى العلاقات مع الخارج.
  ولن يرحمنا أحد إن لم نرحم أنفسنا ونعيد الاعتبار الى العصب الوطني، بدل الاندفاع في العصبيات الطائفية والمذهبية.
