How much is too much?

Sunday, August 31st, 2008

I was looking at a list of Lebanese political parties, and realized that I have never heard of more than half of them.

The list that I read had more than 110 parties!

Some of them are just plain pointless:

Universal party, Lebanese Ecology Party (What does the enviroment have to do with political parties?), Congress Party (congress of what?), Promise Party (what promise?), Worker’s League-Rabitat Al-Shaghila (LMFAO!)… And the list goes on and on.

Maybe soon we’ll have Hizb l Dikanjiyyeh, and Tajamou3 Nwatir l bineyet… :D

I guess this represents what Lebanon really is: A bunch of minorities that have nothing in common.

DECLARATION OF IRANDEPENDENCE

Sunday, August 31st, 2008

IT IS OFFICIAL. HEZBOLLAH HAS DECLARED ITS STATE OF IRANDEPENDENCE. PLEASE FIND THEIR DECLARATION OF THE DIVINE JIHADIST NATION OF SYRAN…. BELOW.

When, in the course of recent events, it becomes necessary for Hezbollah to dissolve the political bonds which have connected their people with their nation, and to assume among the powers of the Wilayet el Fakih, the separate and equal station to which the laws of nature and of nature’s God entitle them, with no respect to the opinions of other Lebanese requires that they should declare the causes which impel them to the separation.

We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all Hezbos are created equal, that they are endowed by Ahmadinejad with certain unalienable rights, that among these are shooting army officers, interrogating Lebanese, starting wars, and the pursuit of Syria’s agenda. That to secure these rights, illegal Militias are instituted among men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the Mullahs in Tehran. That whenever any form of Lebanese government becomes possible to succeed, it is the right of the Hezbos to alter or to abolish it, and to institute a new government, laying its foundation on principles of the Fakih and organizing its powers in such form, as to them shall seem most likely to effect their safety and happiness.

We hereby declare the Irandependence of our divine nation of SYRAN.

That this shall be nation that shall always be at war with the evil zionists.

That if the zionist shall be exterminated and amrika be destroyed, the nation of Syran will never relinquish its right to terror

That all who question the divine supreme rights of its hairy mehdi shall be executed

That all those who hope for greater liberty shall be traitors

That all christians shall carry a copy of the toilet paper MOU affixed to their foreheads or else they shall be executed

That the nation of Syran shall always endure despite unarmed army helicopters that attempt to destroy it

What happened ?

Sunday, August 31st, 2008

I have been avoiding to post articles by unreliable sources or unreferenced ones at least concerning the helicopter incident, however i read today what Elias el Murr had to say in the government’s session and i believe we can trust his version, even though i still think there is a missing part in this whole story as to what were the motives behind shooting an army helicopter from a close range and while it was almost still on the ground.

Finally, and as my friend said yesterday:
“The person from Hizballah who shot at the aircraft, his officer who gave him the order, his commander who created the order and hassan Nasrallah al amir el Nahi in Hizballah should be brought to trial.”

Des”Orangization” center

Sunday, August 31st, 2008

I was passing by Gemmayze when i saw that library, its quite funny how the background is in orange lol .. first thing that came to my mind is the LF should set up such a center, keep the orange to attract the Aounists and then give them political awareness sessions to help them get over their orange blindness ..

Appeasing Hezballah

Saturday, August 30th, 2008

Appeasement is “the policy of settling international quarrels by admitting and satisfying grievances through rational negotiation and compromise, thereby avoiding the resort to an armed conflict which would be, expensive, bloody and possibly dangerous.”

In other words, it is simply giving in to an agressor’s demands in order to avoid conflict.

When I look back in history at the biggest and most common example of appeasement — England and France’s appeasement of Hitler — I can’t help but notice that we are facing the same situation here in Lebanon:

Let’s say that the French and British who were victorious in WWI are the M14 alliance which was victorious on March 14.  And let’s say that Hitler is Hezballah.

Thirty years ago in Lebanon, the Shi’ite community was largely neglected and was living in poverty and misery. Then Hezballah took control of that community promising a better life and more rights…  That’s the same way Hitler came to power; promising a defeated and humiliated German population to reclaim its dignity and rightfull place atop the world.

He then started to violate the Treaty of Versailles — but the British and French didn’t do anything about it, to avoid another devastating war in Europe.

The Nazis’ first violations were small and insignificant like the remilitarization of the Rhineland and the rearming of the German army with heavy weapons.  England complained but did little else.

Then came the annexation of Austria.  Which was a big deal — but again,  the French and English didn’t do much seeing that Austria wanted to be annexed (or added to Germany).

Hitler was doing all of this under the excuse of uniting the German-speaking people in one country.  Just like Hezballah is keeping its weapons under the cover of ‘resistance’.

Then Hitler set his eyes on the Sudetenland, a mountainous region of Czechoslovakia which is inhabited by German-speaking Czechs.  The British, French, and Czechs weren’t happy about that.  So to settle the argument, the Munich Conference was held.  Let’s say this Munich Conference is the Doha Agreement.  All parties returned from Munich with relief and proudly claimed that they spared Europe another devastating war — just like M14 claimed to have spared Lebanon another vicious civil war.

Neville Chaimberlan proudly told the British people: ”My good friends, for the second time in our history a British Prime Minister has returned from Germany bringing peace with honour. I believe it is peace for our time.”  Oh how naive does that sound now.

Hitler had signed an agreement with the Soviets as well, assuring that he won’t attack them.  In that deal, the Nazis and Soviets also secretly agreed to partition Poland amongst themselves.  The Soviets were proud of that deal and claimed that it will protect them from Nazi aggression. ;)

A few months later, Hitler invaded Poland and the rest is history.

The Nazis ate up most of Europe, invaded France and the Soviet Union, and went way beyond uniting the German-speaking peoples of Europe.  WWII was the deadliest conflict mankind has ever seen and caused Europe years of suffering, misery, and death.

The moral of the story is: Stop appeasing Hezbollah!  They’re lying!  And giving in to their demands is just another Aspirin pill that we’re giving to Lebanon; it’s not going to solve the problem.

More on Posters and Banners

Saturday, August 30th, 2008

N was faster than me about the LF posters on the highway and I felt exactly the same about the ones of Jesus and Mary (sorry Abollam and Jim but I didn’t like this), but the design is great for the other personalities, this picture of Sheikh Bashir I took in Zouk Mosbe7 opposite Irani, I loved seeing Camille Chamoun and Pierre Gemayel and Charles Malek all of them great personalities that we miss seeing and hearing about them since the Syrian scum try to erase their memory.

But I also want to answer some honest and intelligent questions from our friend Readers on the blog about posters of Bashir that he asked in the other article about BG poster in Achrafieh, the question was what does Bashir mean to us LFers and why we enjoy seeing his posters what is the achievement in hanging a poster, this is an important question.

For me it is very simple and always was simple, Bashir for me is not a rock star, he is a symbol of two things, my security and my dignity.  Yes Bashir wanted to save all Lebanon 10452 but he also always worried about his community and region, he worked to give me security from the crazy projects of the Arabs and many Lebanese parties in 1975, like today with Hezbollah and Chi3a yesterday it was the PLO and 7araka Watania and the Sunni, just because I don’t want to sacrifice my country for the Palestine cause I am treated like a traitor and unwanted guest in this country, Bashir stood up to this and the LF turned the table on these crazy projects, today we are still fighting the same problem, they are holy and we are second class citizen if we mention their militia we have to clean our mouth and stay below their belt ETC.. Well guess what it will not fly because we are here to stay and this crazy ignorance of Hezbollah and Salafiyin will not last.

So what is the achievement in putting the poster, for me it is only to remember that many great people sacrificed their life so this country stays and doesn’t become like Palestine, many young men and women gave their life so Lebanon can have a chance to survive and Lebanese can have security and dignity.  These martyrs we have to honor them every day and keep their picture in our heart, and sometimes we have to remind the others about them with a poster or a conference or documentary, they gave everything for us.

Cabinet Appoints Brg Gen. Jean Qahwaji Army Commander

Saturday, August 30th, 2008

From Naharnet:

Premier Fouad Saniora’s cabinet on Friday appointed Brigadier General Jean Qahwaji as Army Commander.
The cabinet observed a minute of silence to mourn the death of slain 1st Lieutenant Samer Hanna.

Mitri announced that the cabinet appointed Brigadier General Jean Qahwaji as Army Commander among other diplomatic and military appointments.

Well let’s hope that this guy does his job and maybe fixes some things in the army.  He’s definetly the best Chief we’ve had in while, especially since he wasn’t appointed by Syria.  I wish him all the best.

Note that Ibrahim Shamseldine, LF, and PSP ministers didn’t vote for him.

Here is the article from Elaph:

LF Martyrs Mass posters ..

Friday, August 29th, 2008

The Lebanese Forces are organizing their annual mass for the Martyrs on the 21st of September 2008.
Location: Fouad Chehab Stadium Jounieh
Time: 8 am – 2 pm

I spotted the posters on the street the first day, i loved the design, simple and straighforward. The first one i saw was Sheikh Bashir’s poster, then Pr. Camille Chamoun then Sheikh Pierre Gemayel (senior) then ( and there i was very surprised) a picture of Jesus Christ and St.Mary ??

I mean come on guys ! i understand our cause is a christian cause and our struggle throughout the years were to preserve Free Christianity in Lebanon and the Middle East, but i dont see how the LF managed to put religious pics on their posters, you ask me why ?

1- The martyrs masses have turned into politiza bazaars in the past few years, not that i mind them, but lets stop calling them masses, and this year it is occuring in a football stadium and is clearly an electoral festival, so sticking The Lord’s pic to advertise for a political event is very wrong.

2- The idea of putting posters with The Lord’s or St.Mary’s pics on them is not very common and unusual and honestly pointless.

3- The quote next to the pictures cannot be related to neither Jesus Christ nor St.Mary, specially when compared to the other politicians & main figures put.

Nonetheless, i loved seeing Charles Malek on those billboards, it is good to know someone still remembers this amazing person.

PS: for those in charge of the facebook group for the mass, maybe you should bother take a look at the Anti-LF comments all over the wall and under the pictures attached.

Who is after the army ?

Thursday, August 28th, 2008

Today’s incident is very misleading in its timing and location.
I present my condoleances first of all to the parents of Samer Hanna for their tragic loss and to the Lebanese army in general.

What happened today ?

An LA helicopter was attaqued over South Lebanon by unknown gunmen, leading to the death of an army captain. The region where the incident happened is near Jezzine and is known to be a shiite region ( clashes btw Amal & Hezbollah used to occur there during the civil war), and there is no trace of Sunnite presence around it, which pretty much eliminates the possibility of a jihadist attack.

From the articles & analysis i read, i can only come up with two reasonable asumptions:

1- The army helicopter went into a restricted HA region and HA gunmen shot to warn them but hit the helicopter instead. There is no interest for HA to engage in a fight with the army or harass it, specially after The ex-head of army now president of the Republic Michel Suleiman assisted them in invading Beirut and is a very loyal ally and friend to the so-called ‘Resistance’

2- Palestinians or members of an extremist group were paid to shoot at the army in order to cause tension between them and Hezbollah. One should note that the army was denied access to the crime scene by Hezbollah militiamen, who are probably confused and surprised by this infiltration into their zones.

Will we hear again about this incident ?

Everyone will condemn it tomorrow, some politicians are already trying to gain some political points out of it by accusing HA, who definitly hold a certain responsability, but it will be forgotten and another innocent Lebanese will go in vain.

R.I.P Samer Hanna.

Will we ever live in Peace?

جوني عبدو : لبنان في خطر والسلطة حالياً هي بيد حزب الله

أبو الغيط: ندعم الدولة اللبنانية والوضع الأمني في لبنان مقلق

AFP: Hezbollah chief threatens to destroy Israel

Olmert: ”if Lebanon turns into a Hezbollah state. [Then] we shall have no restrictions in this context.”

HERE WE GO AGAIN :D !!

After countless Israeli wars with armed groups in Lebanon, it appears that a new conflict is imminent and is coming very soon.  Hezbollah is just waiting for that perfect timing that they always surprise us with, and Israel is already preparing and deploying troops and setting battle plans.

Which leads me to a question that asks itself (sou2al byotra7 nafso :D ): Will we ever have peace with Israel?

All the other ‘Arab’ countries are starting economic partnerships with Israel, trading with the Hebrews, Opening embassies…Heck! even Syria is negotiating with them.

But Lebanon is still “the first country to resist and the last to sign a peace treaty!”.  Well good for us!  We’re still attached to the ‘Arab Cause’ and we’re going to throw those evil Jews in the sea, and free Palestine, and return Jerusalem to the Arabs!

We went from being the pioneers of the Middle East in everything from economics to entertainment…to a backwards society living in a devastated war-zone that is proud to destroy itself and do things that are not in its interest just to help another people who was the main contributor in the destruction of Lebanon and just to stick to the issue of ‘Arabism’ that never existed in the first place and that even the actual Arabs have abandonned.

Our disputes with Israel can no longer be solved with ‘resistance’.  An agreement can be reached between the two parties without a single shot being fired.  And seeing that the Bush Administration is seeking to leave office on any good note, I think that they would be glad to help us reach a deal.

It will be something similar to Egypt’s agreement with Israel:

  • They return the Sheb’a Farms directly to Lebanon.
  • They turn over the maps of the mines that they planted in the South.
  • The U.S. can send Significant military aid to the LAF, just like it sends $2 Billion in aid every year to Egypt. ( That way Hezbollah can no longer claim that the army isn’t capable of defending Lebanon)

And in return, Israel will of course get the disarmament of Hezbollah and the recognition by Lebanon of the State of Israel.

We have nothing to lose and everything to gain by signing a peace treaty.  It’s about time we make peace.  Mch daroure kll snten nekoul atle and have to start all over.

HEY THERE HASSOUNA

Tuesday, August 26th, 2008

PLEASE ENJOY MY VERSION OF “HEY THERE DELILAH” . I STAYED AS TRUE TO THE LYRICS AS POSSIBLE. TO SEE A SHORT VERSION ON YOU TUBE CLICK ON THE LYRICS BELOW

Hey there Hassouna
Hows that rat-hole beneath the city?
Olmerts a thousand miles away
But your bedroom smells so shitty
It smells like poo
Da7iehs sewers can’t hide a rat like you
what will you do?

Hey there Hassouna
Don’t you worry about the resistance
Aoun is there if you get lonely
His ass is just like your mistress
Close your eyes
Gebran Bassils between your thighs
He’s on your side

Oh that rat-hole in da7ieeee
Oh i wish that i was free
Oh that rat-hole in da7ieee
Oh no one can see mee
the mossad cant find mee

Hey there Hassouna
I know hiding is getting hard
But just like mughnieh, died
The other day , you wont get very far
they’ll get you good
they’ll put a bomb beneath your hood
the mossad is good

Hey there Hassouna
You have so much trash to say
About Israel and the Jew
But still they just wont go away
no not at all
the zionist regime wont fall
They traced your call

Oh that rat-hole in da7ieee
Oh it’s smelling like my pee
Oh this rat-hole in da7iee
Oh this rat-hole in da7iee

A thousand miles seems pretty far
But their tomahawks can hit a car
Or a peep hole in your sewer hideaway
Your could just suicide bomb their bus
and fuck our country just because you know
They will blow our infrastructure all away
Hassouna I can promise you
That by the time you take one poo
Lebanon will never ever be the same
And you’re to blame

Hey there Hassouna
You’ll be like the next real mehdi
Two more years of jihad in our schools
And our nation will be history like you too
You’ll know it’s all because of you
you can do whatever you want to
Hey there Hassouna fuck you too
This tomahawks for you

Oh it’s that rat-hole in da7iee
Oh its smelling like my pee
Oh it’s that rat-hole in da7iee
oh that rat-hole in da7iee

A Donkey Race!?

Tuesday, August 26th, 2008

THE FUNDAMENTAL DIFFERENCE

Sunday, August 24th, 2008

It took me a long time to figure out what the fundamental difference between the current followers of the Lebanese Forces and the partisans know as Aounies. Of course many will say that it is so obvious and “why did it take you so long?”. There are many theories and both can be played form either angle.

The LF can say they have always kept their principles. The Aounies say that the LF is ruled by a criminal.
The Aounies say that the MOU is great. The LF say that the Aounies are willing to be Dhimmis. LF is bought by Hariri. Aoun is collecting from Iran. You can easily read the post before this to see some of the major disagreements or read any of the comments to become aware fo the sharp division between us.

The list goes on and on. The reasons and differences are endless

Yet , these are not the difference that I am speaking about. What I am speaking about is a fundamental difference in logic.

Let me explain. If you have ever talked to a 9-11 conspiracy believer you will notice that no matter what arguments you give them that it was actually possibly done by terrorists , they will never accept it. I have often tried to say that I am not sure if 9-11 was an inside job but I can see both points of view. Unfortunately the conspiracy theorist will never accept the other side of the story, namely that 9-11 was potentially committed by El Qaeda.

If you talk to people like this further and about other topics of discussion like the environment, the government, global warming, the Bush family, Free Masons, etc. you will find that their opinions are just as immutable and unchanging as their belief that 9-11 was an inside job. In fact these conspiracy gurus know just how it happened just like Hariri and the canceled checks for Fath el Islam. They will give you every little detail about how the Bush-Cheney alliance with Saudi Arabia and how Bandar paid the islamists etc. etc .

To me and in Lebanon specifically it boils down to two types of people with their respective logic

1. The Aounies : Convinced in their conspiracies and can accept no other discussion or disagreement or questioning of their ideas. FOR EXAMPLE : They believe AOUN is amazing and will never admit that he makes mistakes. The MOU is the best thing that ever happened. Aoun must be president. The LF is a bunch of criminals. Hariri is trying to islamize the country. The shiites are better than the sunnis. The list goes on forever. You can never convince them that even one of the things mentioned above is even remotely untrue.

2. Lebanese Forces: Include many fanatics who are religiously unchangeable and Geagea worshipers but at the same time the LF has many partisans who criticize the leadership all the time. In fact the LF is full of people who are united by a cause but unsure of how to attain their goals because each has a different opinion. I often am amazed about how many LF members are willing to stick to the LF cause even though they completely disagree with the leadership as it stands.

This is the fundamental difference in my personal opinion. One side can accept criticism and the other cannot.

I challenge anyone to find a Aouny who will admit that any of Aouns stances are wrong. On the other hand you can find at least 100,000 LF supporters who can name 5 mistakes in the past year that the LF has made. To prove this point, I can lead you to 10 web sites that are pro LF in which you can find such analysis and criticism. I doubt you can find one AOUNY site that includes any type of real self-critique .

This is why Aounies and Hizballah and SSNP get along so well. They are all fanatically convinced about their opinions and leaders.
