But what will happen to those freed prisoners until then ?

It is indeed a very good move, but shouldnt we have a contingency plan for those prisoners in case this proposal is not accepted ?? Shouldnt the LF raise some money to support them and give them a decent place to stay in ?

How about establishing an official list of the returnees and raising their case to the public ??

And how about taking care of the parents of those still in prisons who have been demonstrating in DT for more than 3 years now without anyone listening to them ?? How about sending few tents to support them and be with them during all this time ?

Such a move is very positive, but one needs to fill all the gaps before proposing something like that, otherwise others will rush to exploit it and point out the drawbacks and missing points.

Even though this government will only be around for a few months, it is a crucial test for both political groups to score political points most importantly for the upcoming elections in 2009.

It has been postponed few times already cause of the HA issue.

What is the major dispute ? Hezbollah of course and how to use its weapons. HA refuses to give up his weapons, refuses anyone to be ennemy with Israel against him. He can only resist, others can follow and then later on be called infidels.

Whats the solution ? HA could invade Beirut one again or can just ignore it and move on .

Anyone would normally say this is as low as he can get, but rest assured Aounimal will find a way to get even lower ..

Aoun Backs Nasrallah: A Leader to Be Followed

Hizbullah weapons are resistance weapons and we would not give up our points of strength,” he added

He described Nasrallah as the first Arab leader to have defeated Israel and “they should provide him with parliamentary immunity.”

He said Nasrallah is the only personality who should be followed.

It is quite ironic to read those quotes and then read this as another article’s title:
Syria For Ending State of War with Israel

Another sad consequence of the War in Iraq …

I read it in a thread and thought i post it here ..

This traffic not only ends in Syria but is also expanding in Lebanon ..

Iraqi girls forced into prostitution

Even though i like the guy and hope he wins the upcoming US elections, but that statement of his was hilarious.

My guess is that he meant Iran but it came out as Iraq with him.
For those who dont know whose on Iraq’s borders, check this map.

Only in …

Lebanon ??

PS: If you look closely ( click on pic to see full size ), you will realize the red light is for the left turn only, but nonetheless, if you are not close enough to see those lights, you will see red & green lights !

Tens of thousands expected in Beirut tonight to watch Mika perform live.
I got a free ticket but i gave it away. Even though i do like few of his songs, i can only imagine the audience to be 15 years and less …

Nonetheless, this is a great boost to launching the summer activities & concerts. DJ Tiesto is expected on the 31st, Bob Sinclar as well not to forget the Baalbeck,Beiteddine & Jbeil festivals etc etc …

Lebanon is alive this summer, at least till now. It seems HA ran out of ideas to screw us all and mess up the summers.

Three years now that Dr.Geagea is free ..
Three years now that the LF is still under construction, for the better or for the worse …

{Article}
I will refrain from critisizing the mistakes done, i believe i have done enough in the past year .. i just have few questions to ask and one suggestion for next year or maybe this year ( if its not too late ).

Any successfull and respectable company, institution or organization reviews its performance on a yearly basis and comes up with a report showing its achievements, its mistakes and even publishes public reports for everyone to see.

Credibility is the key to success and efficiency as well, and i strongly suggest that the LF be a pioneer among Lebanese parties and start being transparent on all issues and show to its supporters and the Christians in general what it is achieving and where it went wrong ..

The minister of Justice is on the LF’s side, i cant think of a better opportunity to clean the records and ask for the reopening of all cases that the LF were falsly accused of, in addition to other cases opened in the past 3 years.

Elections 2009 are closing in, and if the LF keeps on operating that way ( added to all M14 Christian parties), i hardly see any major change in the balances.

I will leave questions to be addressed to the LF for a different post.

Mabrouk Hakim your freedom.

3 years since the te7reer party was relaunched in Lebanon and no one has lifted one finger to ask for banning this party and stopping its political work.

Title of their 3rd annual conference :
Lebanon: From Sectarianism and Colonizers To The Islamic Republic of Lebanon!!

Even though this party has no real chance of expanding in the Arab surrounding countries ( all monarchies or military dictatorships who feel threatened by its existence), its role cannot be but destructive in Lebanon since it will provide a political cover for many jihadist & salafist movements.

An urgent appeal must be done by the Christian leaderships to put an end to this party’s activities and ban it once and for all, along with any party who doesnt recognize Lebanon as a finite country ( SSNP, Baath etc ..)

Finally! she made it. I’m not sure if that’s her 1st marriage.
But I’m pretty sure she’s been through lots of honeymoons.

I was informed by many readers that the blog has been inaccesible in the past two days. The problem seems related to a server maintenance by the host but i didnt receive any feedback yet.
I have been unable to log on from my laptop but i was able to from my friend’s.

I will get back to posting tomorrow.

Apologies for any inconvenience.

I was more than shocked to see Georges Adwan, the LF VP go to the airport and welcome The criminal Samir Kuntar so warmly and passionetly ..

The man was all over Kuntar, hugging & Kissing him ( too bad i never got a picture of it).

Nonethless, who will hold him responsible for what he did ?? How is it acceptable for the LF to have its VP behave in such a shameful way ?? Even if Adwan said he went on his own, this is nonsense !
Hakim did not comment on the issue and probably wont.

What is next ? a visit to Nasrallah to reconcile ?

He had been on the run for nearly 13 years now.
He is accused of the slaughter of over 7500 Muslims from Srebrenica in July 1995.

More about him.

This week, Lebanon’s new national unity government is slated to announce its ministerial statement (bayan waziri), the policy document that will define Beirut’s working parameters and agenda through the spring 2009 elections. For the pro-West majority March 14 coalition, the priority will be to incorporate into the statement a reference to UN Security Council Resolution (UNSCR) 1701, which prohibits weapons movement to Hizballah and expands government sovereignty throughout Lebanon. Hizballah, for its part, will look to maintain the legitimacy of “the resistance.” Although March 14 still maintains a government majority, three years of hostility and self-inflicted wounds have left the ruling party dramatically weakened, making it unclear whether the coalition will be able to prevent Hizballah from consolidating further political gains.

An Update on the Syrian prisoners issue.

Walid el Moallem promised during his visit to close the issue within weeks only..

I dont believe that pig but lets wait and see. It is a shame Lebanese are forgotten in such an unhuman environment …

We have ourselves to blame as much as the government for not supporting the parents who have been demonstrating for 3 years non-stop.

“Mich bass bi Israel bi Souriyya kamen” ( Not only in Israel but in Syrian prisons too)
“Chou lezim yisseer ta yirja3o” ( What should happen for them to return ?)
“La 3ale2at 2abel ma yirja3o” ( No ties before they come back !!)

There is no cause more righteous than this one ! Those parents have been demonstrating for years now and no one is listening .. Walid Mouallem the criminal is allowed to visit Lebanon while they are silenced ..

A criminal like Quntar is celebrated as a national hero while the true hero Boutros Khawand is unheard of.

Let us hope for the best and hope Ghazi Aad’s endless efforts will pay off.

اعتصام لأهالي المعتقلين في سوريا ومذكرة الى رئيس الجمهورية طلبت إدراج القضية في البيان الوزاري

Pics from Beirutspring

March 14 leaders and Sanioura should refuse meeting with Walid Mouallem, not until Syria establishes its embassy here, agrees on demarcation of borders and give up back our prisoners !

It is a slap in the face to every M14 follower to see Mouallem here in Beirut.
An Anti-Syrian demo should have been organized in advance for that event …

I didnt understand why officials spoke on conditions of anonymity on this incident. Do any Lebanese officials have something to hide that we are unaware of ??

Either ways, one less scumbag is definitly good news.

Lebanese security officials say two Palestinian militants allied to a pro al-Qaeda group have been killed in a clash with members of the mainstream Fatah movement in a southern refugee camp.
One of those killed was a member of the Jund al-Sham group, which followed the extremist ideology of al-Qaeda, and the other with an affiliated organisation.
Security officials said Shehadeh Jawhar, a Jund al-Sham military commander, had been critically wounded in Saturday’s clash. The officials spoke on condition of anonymity because they were not authorised to speak to the media.
