من جهة ثانية اعلن مكتب النائب نبيل نقولا، في بيان اليوم، انه بسبب سوء طرقات المتن الشمالي، لبى المدير العام لوزارة الاشغال فادي النمار، طلب النائب نقولا باصلاح الطرقات في منطقة جل الديب، وقد عملت الفرق الفنية التابعة للوزارة بطلب من السيد النمار مشكورا بالسرعة اللازمة عبر تعبيد الطرق المؤدية الى مستشفى دير الصليب، ولاسيما ان المنطقة المذكورة كما في باقي مناطق المتن الشمالي عانت من الحرمان طيلة العقود الثلاثة الماضية، ولم يطالها الزفت الا لترقيع طرقاتها.

PS: i was always surprised why there are so many German fans in Lebanon, speciall among Lfers. However there is an explanation to it and i will post about it tomorrow.

Khaled Daher is a name that emerged after the Hezbollah “invasion” of Beirut.
This ex-Mp is a member of the “Lebanese Islamic gathering” and heads the justice & development movement in North Lebanon.

This man is a prominent Sunnite leader and considers Syria an enemy as well as Hezbollah and wants to restore The Sunnite’s dignity and dominance after Hezbollah’s invasion & acts in Beirut.

He is launching the “Sunnite Resistance” in the North which will include several leaders & religious figures including :

- Khaled El Daher
- Sheikh Kenaan Naji ( Jundallah)
- Sheikh Fawwaz Hussein Agha ( Islamic Youth)
- Sheikh Bilal Baroudi
- Sheikh Dr. Zakria El Masri

It is still a young group but its goals are dangerous and financing might come from many sides ( Arab countries, local Sunnite groups etc ..) and is worthy monitoring for the future ( remember how Fath el Islam started).

To show you how serious those people are, check the answer to this last question asked during an interview held with him on the 15th of May 2008.

Turkey wants to defend its secular constitution and keeps its chances open to integrate the European Union and the last decision taken surely will help its case.

“It is a historic ruling… It has demonstrated that secularism is Turkey’s state ideology,” veteran politician and jurist Husamettin Cindoruk said.

It is quite astonishing how some parties want to ruin the great achievements of Ataturk who made of Turkey what it is today, a strong & secular state distinguished on all levels from all other Islamic countries in the region.

I truly hope the army will remain in power and keep abolishing any tries to change the constitution.

It is not the fact that he wants to sue Israel for its crimes against the Palestinians that bothers me, but the fact that he completly ignores Syrian crimes against Lebanese, Palestinian crimes against Christians !!

Mp Robert Ghanem received a letter from the Arab parliament, concerning the complaint he proposed to sue Israel for its massacres in Gaza, and asking to list it among the major points the parliament will be discussing.
Accordingly, the parliament agreed to accept this proposal and asked Ghanem to prepare the case and follow it up.

I am not commenting on the government formation because it is more of a bazaar where everyone is negotiating with everyone to get the best price, regardless of what he is getting, or if he needs it or not ..

The world papers stopped focusing on Lebanon after they realized we are back to square one.

And the funny thing is that this government will last few months before we have new elections.
Lets just hope they will keep fighting on forming this government during the whole summer, so we can enjoy it peacefully ..

Oil prices are going only in one direction nowadays, and the barrel is reaching unimaginable prices ..
This inflation of oil prices is effecting the whole world, and majorily affecting the poorer parts of the world therefore causing them to limit their consumption.

Why is this happening ?

There are tons of explanations, some claim USA & Israel planned it, others blame it on fast-growing economies in Asia ( mainly China) etc …

However the main problem is that Oil production has been flat for the past 3 years, meaning that no supply growth is occuring and this will obviously reflect negatively on the oil prices.

Here are some logical reasons exposed in an article i read

Where are we heading ? the EU threatened to start considering taking some measures if the oil barrel keeps rising that way ( until 150$).

The US is filling its reserves and everyone seems to be waiting for that crisis to open.

The points i linked to above reflect the whole idea, and show us that inflation is still on its way and there is nothing to do …

I cannot believe that was done unintentionally. How can you mistaken the Lebanese National anthem for the Syrian one ??? even if you are choosing alphabetically, Lebanon is far from Syria and it just doesnt add up.

Lets see what comes up from the investigation, or maybe what fabricated story will they publish to justify this shameful act.

However, the error, which was committed by the organizing officials of the tournament, prompted the President of the Saudi Football Federation, Prince Sultan ibn Fahd, to order an official investigation into the incident. I was surprised to read some replies in my previous post , specially after the many posts i have dedicated to the Islamic groups growing in Lebanon and Hezbollah’s threat to Lebanon as a whole, and the resulting Sunnite-Shiite fight that is becoming clearer and more inevitable one day after the other.

First of all, i am totally AGAINST any new militias and i dont believe in the use of force, but i believe pragmatic solutions and in some circumstances, the use of force is unfortunatelly a need. When the Christians got armed in the 70s, it was to protect their community and defend the Christians & Lebanon from the invadors. Had we decided not to get armed, we would have been slaughtered and if lucky enough, deported.

Today, M14 are majorily responsible for getting us to this messed up situation, where political pressure is no more an option with Hezbollah. I blame M14 because i know Hezbollah cares less about Lebanon & Aoun has prostituted himself to Hezbollah and become useless, while M14 had the golden opportunity to isolate Hezbollah, strenghen themselves and benefit from international support to disarm Hezbollah politically or militarily.

Instead, compromise was the name of the game, and they emerged as the biggest losers, and mistake after mistake gave more power to Hezbollah and made the international community recalculate their cards.

You ask why dont we let the army do their role ?? When did the army do its job ever ?? ( except Nahr el Bared) .. The army will split the second it sides with any community ..
For those who are unaware, many Sunnite officers threatened to resign after the Beirut incidents, and Sleiman had to calm them and adjust their salaries and ranks in order to keep them.

Hariri & the Sunnites will never forget what happened, and they hate Hezbollah more than ever after the humiliation endured ( unlike what u think Arze), and tons of jihadists and extremists are starting to show up in the North & Beqaa.

I never advocated the use of violence and never will, but this is the sad reality nowadays. I already said Lebanon without its Christians is useless, and its Christians sadly enough are useless nowadays because they are following incompetent, selfish, power-seeking leaders with no vision nor plan for the future and will be the only victims of the Sunnite-Shiite clash locally & regionally.

As reported on the Beirut Spring & Naharnet, Mr. Saad Hariri “suspended” the Future Movement’s contribution in the cabinet Line-up talks. The move was in protest against security breaches by opposition armed gangs in the FM power base of Tarik el Jdideh. Mr. Hariri demanded that the security section of the Qatar agreement be honored before any further talks can take place.

What should Hariri do ??

The Future movement is nowadays facing its biggest crisis, and Hariri does not have much options to be honest. His stronghold was invaded by HA militiamen, and even though HA gave the army full control, harrassments against FM leaders & responsibles have been increasing on a daily basis …

Hariri is a billionaire but never had in mind to finance and build a militia like many presumed he was doing. Similarly, the harrasments against his supporters cannot remain unanswered, and he cannot bare let his supporters act on their own, for it will damage his image and the FM image.

He can no longer depend on Islamic groups after Nahr el Bared battle where he lost their support.
He chose to react politically but i dont think its enough !

If Hariri wants to counter Hezbollah and regain his supporters’ trust and most improtantly keep controlling them, Hariri must start organizing a hidden militia, a very well organized one that will make sure HA is taught a lesson whenever he considers going in, and in the same time not show to the public anything related to it. (similar to PSP’s “invisible” milita).

Of course forming this militia will require regaining the trust of the islamic groups but in a careful way that keeps a certain control from Hariri on those groups. This will create a balance of terror.

Another option would be to meet Hezbollah and get back to how Rafic Hariri & Nasrallah were, but that will violate the essence of M14 principles.

Elections are few months away and Hariri risks to lose his uncontested leadership if he does not secure his regions and reassure his people.

French President Nicolas Sarkozy, on a brief visit to Lebanon Saturday, expressed support for President Michel Suleiman and for efforts to promote national unity after months of political crisis mired in violence.
Sarkozy is the first Western head of state to visit the country since Suleiman took office at the end of May.
He was greeted at Beirut airport by Suleiman, Prime Minister Fouad Saniora and Parliament Speaker Nabih Berri.
Sarkozy said Suleiman “has a great responsibility to drive this national reconciliation forward

Greenpeace at Sidon Dump: Save the Med
Greenpeace activists have led a peaceful protest on the occasion of World Environment Day in front of the sea-side landfill of the southern port city of Sidon.
Thursday’s protest was aimed at reminding Lebanese decision-makers of the plight of the Mediterranean Sea and demanding the establishment of marine reserves and the closure of all coastal dumps.

The non-governmental organization’s representatives organized a sea tour for journalists as activists unfurled banners that said “Marine reserves now,” “Close the dumps,” and “Save the MED” to highlight the dump’s threats to the Lebanese coast.

“The Sidon dump has always been a political playground between different political parties,” said Nisrine al-Helwe, a Greenpeace ocean campaigner. “Immediate action should be taken to stop stockpiling the waste and kickstart a project to deal” with the issue.

The dump is just a few meters away from the tourist sites of Sidon — its crusader sea castle, ancient vaulted souk and Phoenician temple.

The 30-year-old “mountain of filth” has steadily grown over the years, reaching today the height of a four-storey building and a volume of about 600,000 cubic meters.

A combination of strong winds and an earthquake with a magnitude of 5.0 on the Richter scale that hit Lebanon in February sent about 150 tones of rubbish blowing into the sea.

There were many talks that Fath el Islam was giving a certain cover by the Saudi authorities, and reports spoke of many Saudis among the kills and arrested.

Assafir reported today that a Fath el Islam member was sent back to KSA on a private plane..

While Syria had the major role in arming them, a certain someone is sending us those jihadists and is uncapable of controlling them ( not even in his own country).

This is a bad start for Pr.Sleiman who was head of the army during the Nahr el Bared battle and who must out of respect for the brave army martyrs, let justice prevail and make sure it does.

I am posting this after my friend called me and told me what happened at the Riyadi-Muttahed basketball game ( Finals) he was watching today. He managed to take few pics as well of the “civilized” Riyadi supporters.

Their team was winning easily yet they managed to start a huge fight which degenerated into a battle between them and the ISF ( fouhoud ).

As you can see in this first pic, the ISF & Riyadi supporters throwing bottles of water, cans, CHAIRS and whatever they could find at each others.

I hope Saad Hariri wasnt watching the game and is not counting on those “men” to protect him, because it barely took 15 seconds the ISF to storm the crowds and beat the crap out of them !!

Le président de la Chambre Nabih Berry a reçu hier l’ambassadeur de Chine et l’ancien député Farid Haykal Khazen. M. Berry a aussi envoyé un message de félicitations au président de la Chambre koweïtien Jassem Khorafi pour sa réélection à ce poste et l’a assuré de la poursuite de la coopération entre les Parlements libanais et koweïtien. Berry a aussi envoyé un télégramme au président du Parlement québécois pour le remercier de l’invitation qu’il lui a adressée. M. Berry a ajouté qu’en principe, il compte participer au Sommet de la francophonie qui doit se tenir dans la ville de Québec en juillet. Berry a encore reçu plusieurs télégrammes de félicitations pour la conclusion de l’accord de Doha émanant de responsables arabes.

عائلة الشهيد ربيع نمر تسأل: “بأي ذنب قُتل”؟

الجثة المشوهة تعود لابنها. يقول رمزي بأسى “خيي ما عرفتوا..”.

إنه القدر.. أم الغدر هو الذي أودى بحياة الشاب ربيع نمر؟
بدأت القصة إبان الأحداث السوداء في 8 أيار الماضي عندما هاجمته ومجموعة من رفاقه عناصر ميليشيوية في منزل كانوا فيه في دوحة الحص. هناك اعتدوا عليهم بقوة السلاح، وكانوا عزل، فعذبوهم بلا رحمة، لأنهم أنصار “تيار المستقبل” وأوفياء للرئيس الشهيد رفيق الحريري، ثم رموهم في منطقة الجناح حيث منزل عائلة ربيع، وكأن غايتهم هي تطهير المكان.
لم يكتفوا بتعذيبهم، كانت نيتهم بالانتقام واضحة، عادوا مجدداً في 9 أيار الماضي، طرقوا باب بيت ربيع في الجناح هذه المرة، أرادوا أن يتحدثوا معه بـ”لغتهم”، اختطفوه، خرج ربيع من منزله ولم يعد، وراحت الشائعات تزيد من وجع عائلته.
لم يعد ربيع إلا شهيداً مكللاُ بالغار، شهيداً من أجل الوطن، بعد أن عثر عليه جثة هامدة يخترقها الرصاص على شاطئ السعديات في 25 أيار الماضي، نقل على اثرها الى مستشفى سبلين ثم ووري في الثرى.
هكذا انتهت القصة المأساة، لتبدأ مأساة عائلة فقدت ولدها، وتخاف من خطر ما أو شر جديد يتربص بها، فمن يحميها؟
تبدو عائلة الشهيد ربيع كمن استيقظ من كابوس مرعب، فوجده حقيقة بعد تشييع الشهيد أول من أمس.
تتشح والدته بالسواد، ترثي شباب ابنها الذي يبلغ من العمر 33 عاماً، يعتصر الألم قلبها، وتترقرق دموع الأسى في عينيها، سقط ابنها شهيداً في الزمان الخطأ والمكان الخطأ، تسأل “ما ذنبه؟ لماذا قتلوه؟”.
يتغلب ايمانها على هول الجريمة، تنبس شفتاها بكلمة “الحمد الله.. الحمد الله”، تحيط بها العائلة، تعبر عن خوفها على أولادها الثلاثة الباقين، بحسرة تقول “في واحد أحد بيخلص حق كل مظلوم.. لم يحارب، ولم يكن بحوزته سلاحاً، لماذا قتلوه؟”.
تطلب من رئيس الجمهورية ميشال سليمان “أن يطالب بحق ابنها، إذا كان هناك من عدل في هذا البلد، القضية الآن أمام القضاء، فليأخذ مجراه ويعيد الحق الى أصحابه”.
تبدي العائلة ارتياحها لتبني رئيس “تيار المستقبل” النائب سعد الحريري قضية ربيع “كلنا ثقة بالشيخ سعد، لا نريد أن تذهب دماء ربيع هدراً”.
تنظر شقيقة ربيع الى الأرض، لا تجد ما تقوله، ولا تجد ما يعوض خسارتها، أما شقيقاه رمزي وابراهيم، فالحزن لا يفارقهما، يستذكران ربيع، ويترحمان على “شهيد الغدر”، ويتناوبان مع والدتهما على سرد قصة مأساتهم. ينفعل رمزي “لن نحيد عن مسيرة الرئيس الشهيد رفيق الحريري، علمنا أن نقول كلمتنا بالقلم، علمنا أن ننطق الحقيقة دائماً، ولم يطلب منا أن نحمل السلاح”.
الشهيد ربيع متأهل من نسرين، وله طفل اسمه عمر ويبلغ من العمر أربعة أشهر، يرقد في المستشفى قبل أن يعرف مصير والده بيوم واحد، وكأن قلبه البريء أحس بفقدان الأب الحنون، وبأنه سيصبح يتيماً لأن هناك ظلماً في الحياة”.
تتناوب العائلة بأسى سرد القصة “في 8 أيار الماضي تلقينا اتصالاً هاتفياً يسأل عن الشهيد، الذي كان في المنزل مع ثمانية من رفاقه في دوحة الحص، وما هي إلا دقائق حتى طوقت المنزل عناصر ميليشيوية، وراحوا يطلقون الرصاص عشوائياً، ثم اقتحموا المنزل بقوة السلاح، وصاروا ينادون كل شاب باسمه، وعاثوا خراباً بالمنزل، نزعوا صور الرئيس الشهيد، واعتدوا على ربيع ورفاقه مستخدمين شتى أنواع التعذيب، ثم اصطحبوهم الى خيمة التعذيب، حيث نكلوا فيهم، وشتموا “تيار المستقبل” والقيمين عليه، استخدموا العصي والحجارة والبنادق، وحقنوا الشباب بأبر جعلتهم في حالة هلوسة وخوف دائم”.
وتضيف العائلة “بعد تعذيبهم، رموهم في منطقة الجناح، فتم نقلهم الى المستشفى، وفي اليوم التالي عادوا بعد صلاة الظهر، كانوا أربعة رجال في سيارة، أحدهم يدعى علي الشاعر، طرقوا باب المنزل على أساس أنهم يريدون الحديث مع ربيع، ومنذ ذلك الحين ذهب ولم يعد”.
هنا، تتدخل الوالدة “راحوا يروجون الشائعات أنه لدى مخابرات الجيش، وأنه وجد مقتولاً تحت جسر الاوزاعي، كل ذلك كي يحرقوا قلوبنا التي كانت تعتصر ألماً لمعرفة مصيره”.
لم تستطع العائلة التعرف الى جثة ربيع التي تم العثور عليها صباح الأحد في 25 أيار الماضي، فأجريت التحاليل وفحص الـDNA، وتأكدت العائلة أن هذه الجثة المشوهة تعود لابنها. يقول رمزي بأسى “خيي ما عرفتوا..”.
لم تنته مأساة العائلة هنا، فالجو حيث تقطن العائلة في منطقة الجناح متوتر، وهم لا يخفون قلقهم من هذا الوضع، إذ أنهم لا يستطيعون الكلام ولا التعبير عن حزنهم، ولا استنكار ما حدث، ولا حتى التنقل بأمان، بسبب سيطرة “حزب الله” وحركة “أمل” على المنطقة”.
يستغرب رمزي كلام السيد حسن نصر الله “عن شهدائه وضحايانا”، “إنه الشهيد عندما يقتل مرتين، مرة بسلاح الغدر، ومرة بكلام غير مسؤول، يستخف بدماء الناس”.
رفاق ربيع رفعوا صوراً له في الطريق الجديدة، مع النائب سعد الحريري، كتبوا على إحداها “إن الحياة للأقوياء في نفوسهم لا للضعفاء”، مؤكدين أنه “سيبقى حياً في قلوبنا
