Samir Kassir & all the martyrs ..

Saturday, May 31st, 2008

Samir Kassir is another “forgotten” martyr who died defending his principles and the Cedars revolution and is barely mentioned in any paper or by any politician ..

Samir was simply a brilliant journalist, brilliant historian and i love his writings & books even though he was a prominet left-wing activist. By simply reading his biography, you realize the loss Lebanon endured after he was assassinated.

I had the chance to meet him few times, and i’ve seen how humble & smart this man is.

Samir was assassinated on the 2nd of June 2005 using a car bomb.

I’ve been thinking about that issue lately and decided to do the following :

- ANY post that has any curse or any foul language will be deleted even if its a lengthy reply.

I’ve had it with moderating like i am watching over a kinder garden class.

As for posts who are against the LF, well i am sorry for readers who are bothered with them, but this is the freedom of speech i am promoting on this blog and i hope you do your part by answering them.

Anyone is welcome here.

Christian situation after Doha ..

Thursday, May 29th, 2008

Who won and who lost from the Doha agreement ? How did it affect the Christians in general and the Christian leaderships specifically??

I’ve been reading papers and discussions for a week now, and many comments on the topics i raised on the blog, and anyone can conclude that even though Doha agreement did enhance Christians’ situation ( electoral law & presidential elecions), however the Christian leaderships are more divided than ever ..

To clarify things since the start, Doha agreement re-establised the balance btw Muslism & Christians constitutionally speaking, meaning that Christians can now vote for almost 80% of their Mps, and they have a president ( even though a bad one), but at least the position is filled.

Politically speaking, Christians had no say in the Doha agreement, even though Aoun is trying to fool us by saying he achieved this and that .. but facts speak for themselves and it was Hezbollah who forced Aoun to accept the deal after being pressured by Iran several times.

Added to that, Christians came back more divided than ever. Geagea is bragging about getting back the presidency and Aoun getting back the Christian rights, while none of them had any role whatsoever.

The Christian role is fading away in Lebanon, even if Christian representation is almost 100% valid now. But the problem resides in the fact that this representation is confiscated by two leaderships who are dependant on their allies and emprisoned within their “strategic” alliances.

We need an alternative to be honest, and i cant see it at all ..

Finally, there is a very serious aspect that most politicians failed to address lately, specially after Hezbollah’s invasion. Aoun stated “proudly” that it was the MOU that kept Hezbollah out of Christians regions. Do you realize how dangerous is this statement ?

It is assuming HA can attack us anytime, thats why we need to sign with him a deal that he might or not respect just to keep him away. lek malla 2ekhra :-)

Added to that, Sunnite extremists are furious at HA’s invasion, and Hariri surely started financing them properly. Those will surely target us first Christians and this is something Hakim must pay attention to.

Thats how messed up we are …

Hezbollah’s speech

Tuesday, May 27th, 2008

A speech full of hypocrisy, hate, lies and deception .. and most importantly reassuring us that Lebanon has no bright future as long as HA is around and that Wilayat el Fakih is on HA’s agenda and will always be …

I believe that sums up the whole speech.

Hezbollah has warning for Lebanon’s new government
The Hezbollah leader pledged to comply with a provision of the Arab League-brokered agreement that forbids the use of arms to achieve political gains. But he warned that the government shouldn’t try to use the military against Hezbollah and its allies.

DEAR PRESIDENT AOUN (HAHAHA- HA!-HA! GENERAL!)

Monday, May 26th, 2008

Dear President Aoun it doesn’t pay to gamble
For that cursed kirseh, your country in a shamble

You played the game with no regard for rules
And lay yourself in the Iranian box of tools

But glad we are that your gambit was a sham
And the proof is in the praises from El Cham

They all sang your name, like an endless loop
Then in Doha dumped you, like a smelly poop

But take heart mon General, the story isn’t over
Those mullahdollars can still buy an O’Range Rover

Zoubran Bassil will be a minister effendi
And your wife will still be buying bags at Fendi

So what if you won’t be the Biggest Cheese?
That kirseh went just like the autumn breeze?

Don’t forget that with the dollars you got paid
There is a big part for you in this charade

You must pretend to be the big chihuahua
Or else the syrians will make for you; Shi WaWa

Like when the call in Doha came from Mottaki
It was clear that the laymouni was Montaki

You are expendable , that is to say the least
And when you’re gone, your allies will still feast

But Grampa Aoun don’t fight against the stream
Nor think that this is just one big bad dream

That Somehow you had died and gone to hell
And in your dream they picked the wrong Michel!

Always,

LEBANONJON

Pr.Sleiman’s speech

I will keep this speech as a reference, for us to remember later one if he will apply any of the points mentioned or not. If Accountability is inexistant in Lebanese politics, we can promote it on this blog.

“Invasion” day ..

Sunday, May 25th, 2008

Today we celebrated the Hezbollah invasion of the South.

8 years ago, while Lebanon was invaded fully ( except the South) by Syrians. Israel withdrew from the South and gave it to the Syrian backed Hezbollah.

I am not sure why we should celebrate it as a liberation, since all we did is give Syria control all Lebanese soil after Israel was invading it. Some people argue that Syria was backing Hezbollah to liberate it, i ask them what makes Syria any less worse than Israel ?

What are Israel’s atrocities against the Lebanese when compared to the 30 years of persecution, killing, kidnapping, stealing the Syrians made us live ??

One example pretty much sums up HA’s behavior:
if you have a group of gunmen invading your house and your family inside and one gunman controlling the farm, you go after the farm then you free the family ?

Not sure how Aoun survived those elections ?

Nassib Lahoud beat him
And Hariri a Sunnite from the grave beat him !!!

No mention of Lebanese Prisoners in Syria

Sunday, May 25th, 2008

Pr.Sleiman : – سنتابع قضية الاسرى في السجون الاسرائيلية

And the Lebanese in Syrian prisons ??? mich mawjoudeen !

Getting close to the 99.9%

Sunday, May 25th, 2008

Has anyone noticed ?
With every new president, we get closer and closer to the Arab ‘democracies’ ratios ..
Sleiman or should i say Pr.Sleiman got 118 votes out of 126, nearing the 94% …

Yalla sheddo el hemme .. we are very close ..

PS: For those in Lebanon, i hope you are hearing the machine gun shots !!
I think i understand now why the army didnt shoot one single bullet in Beirut few weeks ago, they were saving them for today :P

Electing Sleiman or Monaco GP ?

A Literature note for March 14

Sunday, May 25th, 2008

“If you have tears, prepare to shed them now….
Oh, what a fall was there…
Then I, and you, and all of us fell down.”
–William Shakespeare, “Julius Caesar,” Act 3, Scene 1.

Thank you March 14 leaders. We, the Lebanese people. We, the Million Lebanese (Men, Women, elders and Children) who kicked the Syrians out. We who handed to you a free Lebanon on a silver of plate. I should say Golden. We who handed to you the Cedars Revolution. We tell you thank you. Thank you for opening the door to Syria. Thank you for your ignorance. Thank you for allowing Hezbollah to Knock you down. Thank you for all your efforts. It seems the smartest one in you can’t match the IQ of a 4 years old kid.

You had us behind you, you had the US behind you, Europe and the UN. Syria had her back to the wall. Her allies in Lebanon had their tales between their legs. 3 years and you, the so called politicians and leaders of March 14, lost it all. Hezbollah is smart. March 8 is smart, but they didn’t win because they are smart. They win because your are a bunch of Feudal lords and proved to be nothing but ants in front of Syria and its ally.

I do not blame Hezbollah. Hezbollah is implementing his agenda. I do not blame Aoun any more. Hell he was defending Christians rights in Doha while you, you the damn so called freedom lovers, you the so called Christian representative of our struggle were defending Saad and his money. Shame on you. Shame on you. At the end of the day, Aoun looked like a hero and you looked nothing but servants to Sheikh Saad. You made Aoun look like a savior. You leaders of March 14.

As for you, the once upon a time who used to say “Amin el Mujtama3 Al Masihi Fawqa Kul I3tibar”, what should I tell you? I am ashamed to even address you with a single word. I thought after Doha, you will return to Maarab, after the hard lesson you got there, with a thought to go back to who you were once before you went to prison. When I heard you talking today, I knew for sure that there is no hope in you. The torch you once carried is turned off. You not only went on a tangent, you switched course and decided to stay there.

Allah Yirham Shuhade’na. Allah Yirham kil shab sa’at moudefi3 3an adiyeh ‘eman fiya.

Shakespeare wrote:

“If you have tears, prepare to shed them now….
Oh, what a fall was there…
Then I, and you, and all of us fell down.”
–William Shakespeare, “Julius Caesar,” Act 3, Scene 1.

But march 14 are a herd of crocodiles, they do not shed tears. I stand with my fellow Lebanese shedding our tears on every thing we did since 1975 till today. We shed tears on our martyrs whom you have been killing day in day out.

Does anyone smell the “tabkha”

Friday, May 23rd, 2008

I wanted to post this on Wednesday but did not get the chance.

It is irony, coincidence and strategy that is so often overlooked in day to day “game play”  on the world stage of politics. And it is those three things that we need to step back and admire all the while keep in mind the inevitable humor in the situation.

Why humor you ask, because that’s what we Lebanese do best. We have crappy leaders, a crappy economy, crappy neighbors, and a crappy hand in the world stage, but what we always have are great great jokes.

Never lose that or forget it ya Lubnanyun, for humor is humility and it is what has made us each so individually successful abroad.

So I digress to my original point, I awake Wednesday morning to coincidently find that in the middle of the night before the Arab deadline, magically an agreement was reached. It must have been divine intervention because according to Aoun, the Doha talks would never have happened if it wasn’t for Hezbollah’s mini-war and Hezbollah and their weapons are divine right? ……No jackass…..

Coincidentally that scum of the earth Walid Mouallem so hastily announces his acceptance of the Doha accord with a joint announcement of Israel peace talks and a Golan withdrawal.

So is it coincidence, or is it possible that the Axis of good has won a major battle again the Iranian/Syrian Axis of Crap.

Was it strategy that Saniora made the anti-Hezbollah announcement which provoked them to take the streets unanswered to show their true animalistic side only to get a slap on the wrist from the newly united Druze. Then only to be followed by intense pressure and a summit hosted by Qatar, who is the only true Syrian ally on the world stage.

Good always triumphs, sometimes it takes some time and very tactical maneuvering but what goes around always comes around.

I assure you that we need not use the word coincidence; what we witnessed was a very strategical move to surgically and non-militarily separate Syria from Iran and drag it back into the Arab community like the little rebellious bastard child it is.

Could this mean the beginning of the end of Hezbollah and Hammas, possibly, but what I will tell you is that it is the beginning of a new era for Lebanon.

So I urge you all, khallasna siyyase w za3ama. Learn from the best, learn that politicians are hired by the people to SERVE the people not their own interests. Pick parties who will serve you and unite your nation, not divide you based on religion only.

Mnesta7al aktar bi ktir w fina sa3et li badna nensa 30 years of crap for a bright and prosperous future with a government that serves us. Remember yourself and your needs in 2009 when we all go to vote mech l kharra yalli zafatlkon l tari2.

God bless Lebanon and mabroukin 3al sayfiyye.
