Gemmayze residents organized a small demonstration few days ago and blocked the main road protesting against the noisy night clubs that are keeping them from sleeping.
As a result, the ministry of tourism met with few concerned people and decided to close 20 pubs and restaurants which were judged inadequatly positioned and causing uncomfort ..
I think they are right, this used to happen in Monot street before. The street should be made for pedestrians only (at least on weekends) and nightclubs and pubs must install a proper soundproof system.
I say let them go down and have a drink and they ll forget about all the noise

Another great editorial by Dr.Antoine Najm
Kif?? Eh Kif??
Posted by N10452( I add one question: Who killed Ramzi and did any inquiry take place on that awful crime ?? )
Our loyalty to Ramzi Irani is the same to all Lebanon’s martyrs? Are you loyal to the martyrs of Hebollah the same way you are loyal to martyr Ramzi? Kif haideh? Or is it saf hakeh la nihke and as we say in Arabic haida “Hashou”?
Who changed it you? The LF? Who? When the LF raised the slogan an institution towards the future, at that time there was also no republic, no consitutions, nothing ….
Switching the slogan and the work form building an institution that is looking towards the future, to build a democratic party, to present its project, its plans and its ideas for a solution, a better future, ….. To an institution to lift up the republic is a major mistake. If you can’t lift yourself first you will never be able to lift anything else. Unless the Republic you want to build today is build on a farm and feudalism.
By the way, when Ramzi was assassinated, where were you Mr. LF deputy and Vice President of the LF? Matter of fact where were you since 1995 till the day you were elected a deputy?
Just couple of free LF minds are still questioning while the rest are clapping.
A headless Summit ..
Posted by N10452![]()
The Lebanese crisis pretty much damaged the Arab Summit badly. Lebanon boycotted Syria and as a result, KSA, Egypt & Jordan followed Lebanon’s step and lowered their level of representation.
The summit has no major heads of states or kings attending, except few unimportant and useless ones. Ghaddafi of course was nominated as the Summit’s clown. As for Bashar el Assad, he will start his list of lies by an opening speech and at the end of the summit will present us with a summary of these lies.
In his opening speech around noon on Saturday, Syrian President Bashar Al-Assad refused to admit interference in Lebanese internal affairs, despite widespread accusation that his country is a major player in the current political crisis that has gripped Lebanon since the withdrawal of the Syrian troops that occupied Lebanon for almost 30 years.
One answer to that quote:
As long as Hezbollah exists in Lebanon, Syria is more than ever present.
Syria is our enemy, We must boycott Syria, close our borders and show some balls as long as the international community is behind us. It is time to act March 14!
Persepolis unbanned
Posted by N10452On Wednesday, General Wafiq Jizzini, head of general security directorate, which handles censorship, told AFP he had decided to ban the film after Shiite officials expressed concern that its content was offensive to Muslims and to Iran.“The office that handles censorship matters informed me in their report that the film attacks Islam and the Iranian regime, and this could spark tension with Iran,” Jizzini said.
The decision was massively critisized by many parties, among them Walid Jumblatt’s psp, Culture minister Tarek Mitri and Bassam Eid production manager with Circuit Empire, who blasted the ban as ridiculous and unwarranted, especially since pirated copies were widely available in Hizbullah’s stronghold in the southern suburbs of Beirut.
I join other fellow bloggers in condeming this banning, specifically BeirutSpring who decided to put the film for all to watch for free until the movie was unbanned.
As a result of the large critics,
Lebanese authorities on Thursday legalized the screening of the prize-winning animated film “Persepolis”, following an outcry and accusations that the banning it by the censors was aimed at pleasing Iran and Shiite clerics.
“We have given the green light for the film ‘Persepolis” to be screened in cinemas across Lebanon,” an official from the censorship bureau, speaking on condition of anonymity, told Agence France Presse. She did not elaborate on the remark.
Head of the UN Special Tribunal Daniel Bellemare has announced an unnamed “criminal network” was behind the Hariri assassination and suspects the network acted out the subsequent chain of assassinations.

Dahieh, the economic heart of Lebanon, is going on strike starting tomorrow.
Lebanon’s biggest CEOs, including Abu Hadi, Abu 7assin and Abo cho7atta decided to stop bread production as of today evening since the Ministry of Finance has not yet provided them with the essential quantities of flour.
Abu Hadi, CEO & founder of Al Hadi Bakery, one of the leading bakeries in the suburbs declared that the ‘illegal’ government is not giving them enough amounts of flour. He was angrily shouting and yelling and cursing on how he was unable to supply the Tents yesterday with enough bread ..
Yes it is all the “illegal” government’s mistake ..
(End of joke)
This is by far the peak of arrogance !
Ma bye3terfo bil 7koume 2ella wa2et el ch7ade wa wa2ta baddoun yo2bado !
Eitherway, Sami Haddad clearly declared there is no crisis .. so life goes on … woulli jou3an yirou7 3and 7assouna !! 3ando rat burgers gher chekel !
When will they hang him ?
Posted by N10452Everytime i read a statement by Jamil el Sayyed, i think to myself : ” When will this tribunal come to judge this criminal and his three companions and silence him for good ?? “
Former director of Lebanese General Security, Major General Jamil Al-Sayyed has been in detention, along with three other high-level officers, for suspicion of involvement Hariri’s assassination since September 2005.
Since then, he has been attacking judges & the international tribunal committee, as well as the government and calls for his release everytime. In summary, the man is playing “le tout pour le tout” before the tribunal is officially launched.
But his fate is known and will not change, he is guilty and his past and present speak for themselves.

Lebanon Boycotts Syria
Posted by N10452Lebanon Boycotts Damascus Summit
As i was hoping for, Lebanon boycotted the Arab Summit being held in Damascus and most of the major Arab countries showed support by sending low-level delegations.
It is refreshing to see M14 boycotting Syrians officially and the Arabs almost boycotting Syrians as well.
I truly hope the next step will be closing the borders and stoppig all diplomatic relations until Syria leaves us alone ..
We shall never win any battle against this barbaric regime unless we take extreme and decisive measures ..

Irak : les chrétiens persécutés
Posted by EiffelWatch documentary here: http://www.france5.fr/c-dans-l-air/index-fr.php?page=resume&id_article=2624
Lebanese Forces leader Samir Geagea said Monday Hizbullah does not want a civil war in Lebanon, contrary to Syrian President Bashar Assad’s regime that works to ignite such a civil strife.
Geagea made the remark in an address to the Lebanese community in Los Angeles.
“Had Hizbullah accepted Syria’s plans to start a civil war we would have been in civil war,” Geagea said.
Hizbullah, he added, “does not want a civil war because it is not part of its strategy.”
“The Syrian regime is trying to hurl Lebanon into civil war, but did not succeed due to weakness of its allies,” Geagea added.
He said the International Tribunal “would not only expose those who killed ex-Premier Rafik Hariri (in 2005) but would also disclose who killed Maarouf Saad (in 1975) and who committed all the other crimes.
Nasrallah is faking stats now :-)
Posted by N10452On the 40th day remembrance of the assasination of terrorist Imad Moghnieh in Syria, Hassan Nasrallah speeches and yet again confirmed that he wants to wipe out Israel ..
Not only that, but this time he based himself on statistics to say everyone wants to wipe out Israel, statistics which i will develop in a separate post to show you how accurate they are ..
77.4 % of Christians in Lebanon want to drop the Zionist regime !
LOL, i will bet you a million dollars that when asked what a Zionist regime means, 50% of the Lebanese people wont know!
I wont comment on the rest of his speech, it is nonsense and reminds me of Saffa7’s speeches when Americans were invading Iraq, specifically when he was declaring victory over the Americans while the Marines had conquered Baghdad.
All terrorists will face the same fate …
Where is Hakim?
Posted by N10452Its been few days i havent heard of any activity Dr.Geagea has one in the states, no mention of him in the news, papers or whatsoever ..
Easter passed and no mention of him attending any mass in the states ?

Another facebook shameful group ..
Posted by N10452We blamed Aounists before and attacked them for disrespecting the Patriarch in their group ..
Then i see LFers going to their level …
I suggest if anyone knows who was after that group to ask him to close it for two main reasons :
1- LF never goes into such levels (At least not the one i know).
2- Putting a martyrs’ related pic as a profile picture for this crappy group is big insult and disrespect to them.

On the anniversary of Prophet Muhammad
Posted by N10452Dar El Fatwa organized an event in Tripoli for celebrating the birth of Prophet Muhammad and invited many personalities, mainly the secretary general of Jamaa Islamiyya Fayssal Moulawi, Wajih el Baarini, Assaaad Harmouche, Omar Miskawi, FM representative Abdel Ghani Kabbara etc …
What was interesting were the speeches given by Al Cha33ar and Moulawi ..
I thought Jamaa Islamiyya was FM’s ally, and Tripoli was won by FM ..
How come we have its Sheikh supporting HA ??
Those extremist groups are a serious threat to Lebanon and its moderate Sunnites mainly …
Those are highly vulnerable to brainwashing and what differentiates them from becoming terrorists is a very fine thin line ..
Hariri and his Future movement should either step away from those people or control them ..
We cant be in a strategic alliance with an ally backing such groups ..
