Sarko on top ..
Posted by N10452![]()
Sarkozy 30.4 %
Segolene 24.8
Bayrou 18.4
Le Pen 11.2
The biggest loser is LePen, percentage of participation reached 87 % as per Euronews. It should be noted that the high level of participation has a reason, those who register for voting and dont vote are penalized.
Lets wait and see the 2nd round now, Bairou wont support Segolene in my opinion, but LePen is still unsure.
Hanoun @ Ilige
Posted by N10452Apparently his last stop before leaving Lebanon.
Hanna el Atik visited Ilige and prayed for the Martyrs and planted a Cedar tree.
Pictures & News from Ilige site.

I believe it is time to tackle this issue once again after Hanoun’s return to Lebanon and after seeing the replies that were attacking him and others asking for unity.
This was expected to say the least, but honestly no one is entitled to say one word on Hanoun or any of the old timers in the LF that are not working with Hakim right now.
Many of those are true LFers, and never compromised anything for Hakim’s freedom, those were the ones who lost their brothers and cousins and friends in battles, who fought hand in hand with Hakim.
I am not siding with anyone, i have clearly stated my opinion since this whole inner division started that Hakim should reunite everyone when he goes out from jail, regroup the Old and new LFers and make a big reconciliation, but none of that happened sadly.
I picked two replies from the thread i posted few days go.
From Toni
El Atik is the biggest backstabber he was working against Hakim here in the USA. I hope Hakim never lets him come back. And no he is not a high official in the LF’s political council he’s a high official in the new party that they call themselves the true lebanese forces and who are against hakim right now. he’s a trouble maker now.
From France:
Il s’est inclus maintenant dans la parite politique de Elie Hobeika.
J’espere qu’il ne retourne jamais au Liban, car les libanais on souffert de tel petits gens qui considerent l’etat Libanais comme un marche ds le quel le troc est legal
Funny, how Hanna el Atik is the biggest backstabber yet George Adwan is the LF VP.
Maybe i should remind you guys who voted for HK against Hakim back in 1985 to pass the Syrian Triparty agreement, yep indeed it was George Adwan and i dont think Hanoun worked against Hakim as much as Adwan did ..
A general reconciliation is a MUST, and Hakim is losing more and more Old timers and LFers by not organizing it … Kataeb started regrouping their old timers and many LFers are joining the Kataeb again .. i wonder whats taking us so long ..
Elections Presidentielles France 2007
Posted by N10452![]()
Neron Lebnen ..

To Mark Howwayek ..
Posted by N10452I was reading about the sit-in the FPMers organized to condemn the release of Boutros Afram ( who is not an LF), arrested for firing gunshots at FPM activists during the Black Tuesday that occured almost 3 months ago after the Opposition tried to block all roads leading to Beirut.
![]()
I want to ask you ya Mark a simple question ..
Was it worth it ?
Was it worth it getting paralyzed for life because of few thugs ?
Did you really serv your cause by the sacrifice you made ? What will you say to your children and grand children ?
“I got paralyzed when i was trying to burn tyres to block roads kirmel el General ?”
I was involved myself in a lot of student demonstrations during the Syrian hegemony, i was willing to risk my life to demonstrate against the invadors, willing to get beaten and arrested just to let them hear my voice.
We were hand in hand with the Aounists, shouting for Syrians to leave. We had a Cause, and we never did it cause our leaders asked us to ..
However, today i am not willing to risk getting bruised for any leader, i am not willing to debate politics to defend any of them, Syrians are out now, Aoun came back, Hakim was freed, they work for us now and they should be the ones paying ..
You could have got killed easily, like many others during those meaningless clashes, however you survived, and i hope you will learn from this very painful experience and most specifically from that event you guys held today that no one is worthy this ..
All those who read the news today forgot about you and George and Siham, they were too busy making jokes on Abbas el Hashem.
I offer you this as a brotherly advice, your priority as a Lebanese and as a young man is to secure your future, to think of urself before anyone else ..
Many died for Michel Aoun, they ended up being buried in a soccer field, others rotting in Syrian jails till now ( while he denies publically their presence), and many many others living poorly and without a job ..
I respect the fact that you like the guy, it is ur opinion and i respect it, but that last sentence u quoted is in my opinion wrong:
” “هيدي الكرسي يللي قعدوني عليها جماعة السلطة اشرف من كل الكراسي يللي قاعدين عليها ومتمسكين فيها”. “
The new generations should be the ones fighting to take over those seats, not to sit their leaders on them ..
I truly hope you will be able to recover from your handicap one day, and i condemn all those thugs who were shooting that day, either LFers, Fpmers or Marada or anyone … i condemn anyone who came out with guns, who thinks we can resolve our problems by killing and beating up each others ..
We are the future ya Mark, you and me and all those young people .. we should show our leaders the way, and not sacrifice ourselves to pave them the way to achieving their goals ..
Regards.

Look who happy this girl is, so proud of her communist beliefs .. lool
Honestly this picture shows how ’serious’ was this demonstration against the visit of US Ambassador Jeffrey Feltman to a Lebanese University to accompany Craig Berret, the Intel chairman who is currently in Lebanon.
Next thing you will see a Human rights activists with a Nazi logo !!!
Hanoun is back ?
Posted by N10452I heard from few friends that Hanoun is back in Lebanon ?
For those of you who are not familiar with the name, Hanna el Atik is a high LF responsible outside Lebanon ( in the political council) and is very popular among the old LFers.
Correction ( Thanks Richy):
He headed ( and not founded) the Sadam Unit that was founded in 1982 with Sheikh Bashir and Fadi Frem.

NY Times Article on Reema Samaha
Posted by N10452![]()
NY Times:
Reema Samaha, 18, a freshman from Centreville, Va., was shot and killed in her French class. According to tributes posted by friends online, she was an avid dancer and actor who devoted much of her time to the school’s Contemporary Dance Ensemble, a student organization. As a high school student, she won awards for her performances, including one for her role in “Fiddler on the Roof.”
Nicole Bonfiglio, a fellow student at Virginia Tech, remembered Reema in a tribute on the website Facebook as “one of my first friends in high school,” adding, “We sat next to each other in bio freshman year. Reema…you were so kind…you were one of the kindest people i met that year and throughout high school. Nobody ever had anything but good things to say about you.”
Her brother, Omar Samaha, told MSNBC: “I couldn’t sleep last night. Every time I was trying to fall asleep, more things would pop into my head.
“I know I’ll get through it,” he added, “and I’m going to pray for everyone else.”

Free Alan Johnston
Posted by N10452I add my voice to those who were protesting yesterday for the release of the BBC Journalist Alan Johnston. I cannot believe how journalists are treated in the Middle East, tens have been killed already in Iraq and many during the Lebanese war, not to mention lately during the July war.

Journalists staged a protest in Beirut on Monday calling for the release of Alan Johnston, a BBC reporter kidnapped in the Gaza Strip where a Palestinian group has claimed to have killed him.

Read rest of article here :
Ali Bazzi, member of the Amal political bureau, uncovered that House Speaker Nabih Berri will convene Parliament on September 25 2007 to elect a new president for Lebanon.
Of course one might think that Berri is still looking for a solution to the crisis, but knowing this man’s past and present, he is just pulling himself away from the fights and trying to act like the head of the parliament by calling for presidential elections.
He discredited himself from this role long time ago by calling for dialogue sessions outside the parliament’s sessions, then by joining the 8th of March team and not attending parliament sessions, and finally by paralyzing the house.
He always runs from the present situation by giving us false hopes and dates, yet anyone who knows what this man is made of can read btw the lines.
His first condition for elections: 2/3 of the parliament representatives should be there.
Meaning ? If the 8th of March Representatives resign or fail to attend , there wont be any elections, and knowing them, they will find any excuse not to attend.
Secondly :
Bazzi said the legislative will convene to elect a new head of state to replace President Emile Lahoud without the presence of the “unconstitutional” government, adding that only MP-ministers will be allowed to attend the September session
The Constitution is clear on all those issues, who is Nabih Berri to dictate such rules ?? Another initimidation to the 14th of March and to the government and most importantly another sign that he is not serious about those elections.
Question remains:
Will there be a new president ? or are we repeating history and choosing Chaos for the 2nd time ?
Hezbollah & Spanish UNIFIL Clash
Posted by N10452This article was published in Al-Akhbar paper today.
UN Spanish troops entered on Saturday night, the rural streets of Blida (Marja3youn) escoreted by a tank and a jeep, and few of its members starte filming houses and streets with a digital video cam.
This annoyed the villagers, specifically some Hezbollah members who reside in that region, and they blocked the roads fro the Spanish troops and asked them to give away the camera.
The officer in charge refused and when one of the responsibles tried to take it by force, the Lebanese army intervened and sent the camera to the Army Intelligence headquarters in Saida.
My question to Hezbollah:
Are those Spanish soldiers also Israeli agents ? Why is it such a big deal if they are monitoring houses and villages ?? Are there any weapons there ?
Martyr Joseph Abu Assi
Posted by N10452The first martyr of the Lebanese front, who was shot by Palestinians while he was baptizing his son on the 13th of April 1975 at 10:30 am at the front door of Notre Dame de la Delivrance Church in Ain el Remmaneh, East Beirut.
Three brave men died as well:
Antoine Husseini, Dib Assaf and Selman Ibrahim Abou
A mass was held today to commemorate their memory.
May they rest in peace.
Here are few pictures of the mass and all speeches mad during the mass.
